    FTM/STM/STM+: FTM

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A head of califlour

    Upcoming appointments: tomorrow!

How are you feeling?: better than I was. Finally can say the morning sickness quit! Heart burn is new but I will take it over the nausea and vomitting anyday.

Rants/Raves: Just want to rave on my husband for a bit. With how sick and tired I have been through this pregnancy he has picked up doing so much more around the house and helping out where I couldnt. He has been a huge blessing through all of this.

Questions: Have any of you done an echocardiogram on baby before? I have to get one scheduled at my next appointment but am not sure what to expect from it besides it being sorta maybe like a sonogram?.

GTKY: With it being Fall and the weather changing, would you rather: have chapped lips that never get better or a stuffed nose that you can’t get rid of?

Chapped lips! Stuffy noses drive me crazy!

    How are you feeling?: meh.

Rants/Raves: We had a really awesome socially distant patio hang with our friends this weekend. It was so nice to spend some time with them and their new baby.

    Questions: none this week!

GTKY: With it being Fall and the weather changing, would you rather: have chapped lips that never get better or a stuffed nose that you can’t get rid of? Probably chapped lips.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: as tall as a large tub of popcorn 🍿

Upcoming appointments: Weds for my 24wk check up

How are you feeling?: fine, besides waking up a million times a night to toss and turn and then not be able to fall back to sleep quickly.

    Rants/Raves: N/A

Questions: Why is it so hard, even as a STM, to refrain from buying baby stuff- especially clothes? I am not finding out the sex until birth, so maybe I’m not going as crazy as if I knew and could buy clothes if needed. But still- I have so many gender neutral newborn stuff from my son that I really don’t need anything. I just can’t help myself!

GTKY: With it being Fall and the weather changing, would you rather: have chapped lips that never get better or a stuffed nose that you can’t get rid of? Lips. Stuffy nose is all encompassing- can’t talk right, breathe, taste, sleep.

  • How far along are you? (Weeks + Days): 24+2

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: GI Joe/garden eggplant/Atlantic puffin

Upcoming appointments: I think next week?

How are you feeling?: so tired. I am not sleeping well. Lots of heartburn as well

Rants/Raves: Rants: DS’s daycare will be closed another 2 weeks, my H’s family isn’t being careful with Covid.  Rave: BIL/SIL just got back their Covid tests after their latest scare and they were negative. MIL watches their kid 2 days a week and our kid 1 day a week so she would possibly be spreading it if they got it. Rant continued: if they don’t stop being careless we are going to have to pull back from family events and have MIL stop watching DS

Questions: probably but I can’t think of any right now

GTKY: Chapped lips. I want to be able to smell!

@scottijo2012 we had a fetal echocardiogram done when I was pregnant with DS. Did they say why they wanted to do one?  It’s basically a special ultrasound where a special doctor looks exclusively at the heart in a lot of detail.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Cantaloupe, apparently

Upcoming appointments: Monthly U/S with MFM on 10/22.

How are you feeling?: Pretty decent.  A bit fatigued this week. Lots of baby movement.

Rants/Raves: We finally got the rest of the furniture we ordered for our house back in April/May today <3 Also, hubs has been super sweet and attentive lately. He's also gone out of his way to help me with moving items through the house, carrying in groceries, picking up, etc. without me having to ask.

    Questions:

GTKY: With it being Fall and the weather changing, would you rather: have chapped lips that never get better or a stuffed nose that you can’t get rid of? Definitely chapped lips.

@moguippy - If you feel like you need to pull back, definitely do it! It will be worth the peace of mind.

    Baby can blink now

Wednesday checkup appointment, maybe I'll actually remember to ask her about my goofy hip! Feeling pretty well otherwise though

Rant: it was cold today 🥶 didn't make it out of the 30s. Also DD2 gave me a fat lip yesterday and it still hurts
Rave: I finished a project at work and I'm much less stressed!!! Also I talked my maternity plan over with the boss and he's cool with it

    Chapped lips

@szwill86 ummm because baby things are adorable. If this one is a bit I might actually have to buy clothes 😂 we have a lot of girl hand me downs and family likes to gift clothes

Rants/Raves: Baby girls are on the move more and more!
    Questions:
GTKY: With it being Fall and the weather changing, would you rather: have chapped lips that never get better or a stuffed nose that you can’t get rid of? Chapped lips...Mine always seem to be chapped regardless of how much water I drink.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Chinchilla

Upcoming appointments: Quick check-in this Thurs with midwife

How are you feeling?: pretty good!

Rants/Raves: I've been having a really hard time sticking to an exercise routine. I go on walks every day and have been trying to do YouTube prenatal videos for core/body exercises but just haven't had the motivation to stick with it. Anyone having better luck with something you like doing?

    Questions: none

GTKY: With it being Fall and the weather changing, would you rather: have chapped lips that never get better or a stuffed nose that you can’t get rid of?

I might have to go against the majority and say stuffed nose. I HATE having chapped lips and I have allergies so I live with a chronically stuffed nose anyways.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: coconut

Upcoming appointments: this Friday for a quick checkup+flu shot

How are you feeling?: pretty good

Rants/Raves: I have gained a lot this trimester, almost the amount that I gained at this point with DS. I’m feeling really down about it. I know I’ll lose it quickly with breastfeeding, like I did with DS, but I’m dreading having my ob bring it up, and I’m frustrated that I haven’t been more careful with sweets.

GTKY: With it being Fall and the weather changing, would you rather: have chapped lips that never get better or a stuffed nose that you can’t get rid of? Chapped lips.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of:  I don’t know because Ovia won’t open for me anymore

    Upcoming appointments: Monday the 26th

    How are you feeling?: good

Rants/Raves: it’s my birthday tomorrow woohoo!

    Questions:

GTKY: With it being Fall and the weather changing, would you rather: have chapped lips that never get better or a stuffed nose that you can’t get rid of? Chapped lips. I cannot stand going to bed with a stuffed nose. I actually have this paranoia thing where I feel like It’s gotten harder for me to breathe out of my nose in general.

@babyturtle22 I’m in the same general action with exercising. I walk when I have someone home to be with the kids and I do workout videos if I don’t walk but I also skip lots of days. I wish I was more consistent.

@hannahbananas11 I am struggling with this as well. I feel HUGE and I gained 6 lbs between my last appointments so its ramping up already. Between kid 1 and kid 2, I lost all the weight without trying but between kid 2 and this one I held on to a fluctuating 6-8 lbs. I was hoping if I gained less this pregnancy that it would be easier to get back this time but I’m on track for my normal too much weight gain. I don’t know if my doc will say anything but I sure hope not. The cake and candy is not helping me though that’s for sure.

@szwill86 I love baby crap! I was secretly excited that I had given away our stuff and could get new things. I need to go through our newborn 0-3 month clothes to see what I need for this baby. Being team green is almost worse because most of our little stuff isn’t gender neutral so I’m like give me alllll the earth tone $$ pajamas and sets.

  • Had my appointment today. Belly was a little small but doctor wasn't concerned because everything was on track at the ultrasound 🤷🏻‍♀️ I've been having stomach pains for the past week, so we are going to try taking pepcid but if there's no improvement it's on to bloodwork

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a red bell pepper

Upcoming appointments: I just had my last appt, so my next one will be on Nov 17 th, I’ll get to see the little guy again being my dr wants me to have growth scans every two weeks starting at that appt.

How are you feeling?: ok, the heartburn is starting to kick in and sometimes I still get bouts of nausea

    Rants/Raves: none this week

    Questions:

GTKY: With it being Fall and the weather changing, would you rather: have chapped lips that never get better or a stuffed nose that you can’t get rid of?

I would say the stuffed nose being i wake up Daily with one anyway, no clue as to why, but it goes away after a few hours. So I can deal.

  • @dlbello23 same with the morning stuffy nose! I think it's half pregnancy related and half fall weather related for me
  • @manditchka24 great update! Bummer you have to hang out in the hospital but I'm glad baby is still in and growing ❤️

    Cantaloupe

    Upcoming appointments:
Just had one 10/21, next 11/4

    How are you feeling?:
Getting better. Still exhausted and get heartburn from everything. Aldi having trouble getting back to sleep if I'm woken up at night. (Which happens a lot with my 16 month old who apparently hates sleep.)

    Rants/Raves:
Just saw results of my 1hr glucose test taken Wed and I passed! One less thing to worry about.

Concerned about my blood pressure reading in office. They have been higher in the office, but consistently perfect at home. My first pregnancy I was induced at 37 weeks because of one high reading at my 36 week visit. I am really hoping to get to go into labor on my own this time.

GTKY: With it being Fall and the weather changing, would you rather: have chapped lips that never get better or a stuffed nose that you can’t get rid of?
Ugh. Both suck, but I guess I'd go with the stuffed nose. At least I can breathe through my mouth, chapped lips can be sooo uncomfortable.
  • @manditchka24 - I'm glad your anxiety is starting to calm down <3 I'm glad baby's still going strong. And yay! viability!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: weighs as much as an iPad

Upcoming appointments: Tuesday for following up AS for heart images and Wednesday for check up

How are you feeling?: heartburn is horrible and I feel run down. I think I’m getting he good ole fall cold

Rants/Raves: I scheduled my follow up AS and checkup to be back to back almost 4 weeks ago. I randomly signed into my online chart and noticed that they scheduled them back to back at 2 totally different offices 30 mins from each other so that wasn’t going to work. I called to fix it and they were completely booked for AS. She finally found one for Tuesday so now I have to go to the doc 2 separate days and my boss has to cover the beginning of a meeting for me. I was so stressed out but they said the scheduler was new and I know people make mistakes so I didn’t flip out on them even though these hormones could have made me. Thankfully my husband can still go.

    Questions:

GTKY: With it being Fall and the weather changing, would you rather: have chapped lips that never get better or a stuffed nose that you can’t get rid of?

I constantly have a stuffed nose in pregnancy and I’m a chapstick lover so I would just take the stuffed nose since I already have it anyways.

@hannahbananas11 I feel the same way about the weight gain. I’ve gained more this time and feel really down about it. I haven’t been exercising like I should and eating like crap. I’m curious if my dr will say anything.

  • @moguippy we have a history of babies being born with heart murmurs in my family. I still have a hole in my heart that I was born with and my cousin actually had a severe enough issue that she had to have open heart surgery at a couple days old.

@scottijo2012 ah ok. Yeah a history of genetic cardiac problems will earn you one. For ours, first we sat down with the dr and discussed why they were doing it (a genetic history reason for us as well, as opposed to them seeing something on the anatomy scan). Then once he had all his information we went in and he did an ultrasound and looked at the heart in a lot of detail. He explained what he found (nothing majorly worrying in our case) and then it was done. Hope yours goes well!
  • We went camping and it was in the 30s all weekend and my lips got crazy chapped, so I change my answer I would much rather have a stuffy nose
