  • @bows22And honestly, we are the only people in our friend/family circle taking the virus this seriously and I’m constantly side-eyeing their actions.” Good for you!!! Hopefully others will follow your lead. Ain’t it funny to hear Chris Christie now promoting mask wearing... took him to get Covid to realize that.

  • @bows22 Yay for your trip!!! I totally get why you’re justifying how careful you’ve been, but you need that vacation. Honestly, now seems like a better time to go than when people get really fatigued by Covid and stop being cautious at all. (Obviously that’s already happened some places.) Hopefully it won’t be even a little crowded & you can enjoy worry-free! Have so much fun!
  • @bows22 there's risk in everything right now, it's up to you and your family to decide what level of risk you're comfortable with and balance that with the appropriate precautions, so good on ya - sometimes the benefits of our mental wellness and family cohesion needs to prevail!!  I'm for sure the "debbie downer" of our family and my workplace - my background is public health so I'm always the one having to interpret legislation/most up to date public health guidance for everyone... it's exhausting (especially when they don't listen to me). My nickname at work is COVID Police...womp womp.

My confession is that I haven’t checked work email since Tuesday.😳 I have felt behind & stressed, so I just kept plugging away at the documents I had on file & could get done without looking at email. I was avoiding the stress of getting a nagging email from my boss asking where my almost-due documents are (avoiding was also creating more stress lol). Welp, I bit the bullet this morning and checked my mail: I don’t have any pressing or nagging emails.🤪 My work isn’t due till Monday so I’m gonna put my head down now & get it done today.

    Thanks for not flaming me!!

Honestly - most of my judgment of people doesn’t come from what they are actually doing. but then when they expect to see us when they haven’t been as careful as we are and are exposing us indirectly!
  • @keikilove If I remember to check my work email once a week they are lucky. By now everyone pretty much knows that if they need something from me at a certain time, get in touch by other means haha
  • @fitzfizz That sounds like a dream! In my work the expectation is to read all emails & reply within 24 hours, preferably sooner. I figured they weren’t texting or emailing my personal email to reach me, so everything must be under control. Thank goodness that was the case this time!
  • @fitzfizz wow! what type of job do you have? for mine, I'm in front of computer all day, so if I didn't answer an email within 2-3 hours, they'd think something was up.
  • @fingerscrossed1 I really should answer my email more, but the things sent by email are only ever paperwork nonsense and I just don’t care. I’m a doctor, so anything that is actually medically urgent gets sent to me in the electronic medical record. I stay on top of that and figure the rest can wait. One big advantage of working for a large group is that they pay other people to make sure all of my licenses and payments etc are done, and I assume they will get in touch by other means if I am ever seriously delinquent 🤷🏼‍♀️

I will also say that not putting my work email on my phone was one of the best decisions I ever made.
