Pregnancy Limbo!!!

Hi,

I’m new to these boards, but really need some insight. I’m 37, a week late, one positive dollar store test, 2 very faint possible positive dollar store tests, 3 at first negative clear blue tests that showed possible faint/evap line next morning, 3 very negative first Response tests with zero evap lines, 1 negative doctors urine test. I’ve been begging my Dr to order a blood test but Kaiser is reluctant and it’s like pulling teeth with them to get one.

So, has anyone experienced anything like this or similar and still been pregnant?! I’m stuck in maybe baby limbo and it’s stressing me out not knowing. I have all symptoms of being pregnant, but also could be late period symptoms.

I attached the most positive looking test that I got. <img src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/hv/a8l2b8nlx9dv.png" alt="" />

Sorry, but sounds like all the tests are negative, the one positive .  Wait a week before you test again,, if you have not gotten your period, yet.

If you do not get your period in sixty days then schedule an appointment with your doctor.  Your period is "normal" until its not "normal"

Sorry You are going through this

  • Assuming only the one dollar store test was positive.... how long ago did you take it?  It could be more sensitive than some of the other tests you've taken.  If you've taken a FRER (First Response Early Result), and it is also negative, then I would say you are not pregnant at this time.  FRER's pick up SUPER low amounts of HCG (trust me, I've popped those positive, and gotten blood tests that showed HCG levels as low as like 8), so if you take one of those and it's negative, then you're not PG.

If it's negative, just keep waiting.  You may have ovulated late or be experiencing an annovulatory cycle. You should call your doctor if you get to 60 days, as they may want to give you something to jump start your period at that point.

  • Update: results from a blood test taken this morning are negative. We were 50/50 with this scare, so totally fine with the results in either direction. 😉
  • That is a complete turn around fro. Your previous post.  How did you get Kaiser to change its mind so quickly. As normally it takes forever for insurance companies to make decisions?
  • @harpseal135 Kaiser tends to be a little different than a normal insurance company because they operate their own hospitals/medical centers.

Thanks for the clarification.  I didn't know that.

All I know is that I had a hip surgery that I thought was pre-approved through a national renowned insurance company.

They refused to cover it, as i got a 30,000+ dollar bill.  It took 3 appeals to get it over turned.

The submission of P.T. records, MRI scans, doctor's notes, letters from the surgeon, etc.  It was a nightmare and loads of tears.

Thankfully for the 2nd appeal we were able to get a patient advocate through my husband's employer.

After that was denied, she helped us through the next steps and reassured us to not give up hope.  It was over turned, finally and nearly 2 years later.
  • @harpseal135 it’s a shame that health insurance companies are more interested in conning us out of money rather than finding ways to maximize care for the cost.
