I think some of us are nearing that time, so here's a thread for results, questions, and general AS chatter :)

  • I think ultrasounds can still go in the ultrasound thread but honestly it doesn’t really bother me either way lol.

    glad things looked good!

  • 20 weeks last week my scan went well. The tech was training someone so I got alot of learning too! Measuring a little ahead like the rest of mine have.
  • Had our scan today, and everything looks pretty good so far, thankfully. We confirmed we are having a girl, and the only thing they couldn't get a good view of is her spine so I'm going back in a couple of weeks, more out of an abundance of caution than anything else.

  • Had our AS this past week. Everything looked good, but need to go back in two weeks for pics of the heart since he wouldn’t roll the way they required the pics to be taken from. Verified what we were told from genetic testing that we are having a boy.
  • @jemjed Yeah we have to go back this week for better pics of the heart because there's too much of me in the way.
  • @princessjenney Yeah same here. I feel pings when she moves to the sides or if I'm in a position she doesn't particularly enjoy.
  • Today was my anatomy scan! I'm 20+2 and baby boy is measuring on track at 20+4.  Healthy little guy but super duper active.  I've been feeling him a ton and it was so fun to watch him squirm.  He kept following the ultrasound wand around and kicking it haha. He's far more active than I remember DS being at this point which has me worried bc my son is like the tasmanian devil on steroids. Lol

  • @treebagel glad your AS looks good, and how interesting about the study! Hope your BP stays in the normal range. I'd be interested to hear the results once it's all over

  • I had mine this morning I’m so very happy. My little guy is healthy, 12oz, and measuring 2 days ahead. 💕😭😍 He was a sleepyhead in there! He was relaxing with his arm behind his head again and legs crossed (like daddy lol). She said he’s almost completely straight up and down in me. 😂
  • I just had my anatomy scan today. It didn’t go quite as expected. Baby was curled in a ball so they couldn’t see everything they’d normally like to look at, but what they did see was that baby was measuring smaller than she should be, and the fluid around her was a little low. My doctor is referring me to a high risk specialist who will do another scan to look more closely at things and see if there’s anything else going on. I’m a little extra worried because baby was measuring small in the beginning as well, almost 2 weeks behind of my lmp, and now it looks like another 2 weeks behind. My doctor told me not to panic, but I’m not sure how to not...
Anyway, I’ll just be waiting now for a call from the high risk doctor to set up an appointment, and we’ll go from there.
  • @annanbby I'm so sorry you're going through that, that's super stressful. I have my scan in 2 days and I'm just a ball of nerves. I'm sending positive thoughts your way ❤️
  • @annanbby sorry to hear that baby is measuring small. Hopefully you can get more info with the follow up scan and maybe things will look a little better then! Thinking of you ❤️

  • @annanbby I'm sorry your A/S didn't go as expected.  I hope you get a call from the high risk doc and they can get you in quick.  Praying all is ok with little babe.

  • @sunny_native14 @manillabar @juliebeannn
thank you all, I’m hoping the follow up will be better. I’m trying to drink extra water since I hear that can help with the low fluid. It’s hard just waiting, but it’s encouraging feeling her continue to move. Hopefully I can get in soon.
  • @annanbby Thinking of you and baby and hoping that everything is ok. ❤️

  • @annanbby so sorry to hear this. Thinking of you and your family and I hope this is only a scare.
  • @redselig@Yiggle09thank you both, I’m hoping it’s nothing as well and that this next appointment will go better than the AS. Still just waiting to get a call from the doctor to set it up.
  • I had my scan on wednesday and everything was normal. It was nice to see the little nugget moving around. My placenta is anterior so that explains why it took me a little longer to feel movement.

@annanbby I hope you are able to get in asap and that everything is ok.
  • @annanbby positive thoughts coming your way!

We had our anatomy scan last Monday. I discussed in the weekly thread as well but our sonographer was very new and did not know her stuff. I am grateful we have a growth scan ultrasound at 28 weeks but am still concerned that something important could have been missed in the AS by this ultrasound tech who struggled hard with getting the measurements needed. I really don't trust any of the measurements she took and I don't believe my OB did either from what I picked up from her in our post-AS conversation. I'm currently contemplating whether to call my OB's office tomorrow because I am STILL having pain in my left middle abdominal muscles from how hard the US tech was digging in my torso during the scan.

@clevans1 yikes that does NOT sound comfortable or reassuring at all! Sorry you had such a horrible experience
ETA: was she still in training?

  • @manillabar she was new and recently working on her own. I definitely think someone more experienced should have still been with her!
  • My anatomy scan was last week and everything went well!! Got all the pictures we needed and confirmed it’s a boy! Baby didn’t want us to see his face though which is exactly what his sister did too. Only negative is that I have mild Placenta Privia so we have to watch it and see if the placenta shifts up. Hopefully it does otherwise I will need another C-section.

  • @clevans1 definitely sounds like it! Hope your OB can speak up and make sure she gets more training or supervision

  • We had our AS last week and I'm pretty sure everything is ok- I say this because we went through a private ultrasound tech and while she didn't have any concerns, I have yet to hear back from my midwives to confirm the radiologist reviewed everything. I was a little bummed that the quality of pictures wasn't great compared to when we went through Kaiser with our last pregnancy, but I'm really happy that we were able to avoid going to a crowded hospital/clinic. Little one was moving around SO much during the scan!
