I don't produce FSH, so no natural menstrual cycle. DH has reduced morphology.

DD born 05/23/2021 👨👩👧👦 - My family is now complete
@lauralew hopefully they nausea is on its way out finally! Hmm, I would say favors aren’t a necessity for a virtual shower but would be thoughtful/nice touch if you can figure out something pretty easy.
- How far along/EDD? 17 weeks exactly on 10/7, EDD 3/17/21
- How are you feeling this week? Not too shabby! Mornings are still rough, but I am getting some relief mid-day. Although I swear if it's not the nausea, it's the constipation. I can't get a break on either end!
- Rants/Raves? Questions? If anyone has suggestions for the constipation, I will take it!
- Any upcoming appointments? October 26, anatomy scan.
- GTKY: What fruit, vegetable or object is baby the size of this week? a pear! So cute.
Well, the word is out at work now! We had a socially distanced/masked meeting for a few staff at a park today, I thought I wasn't looking too preggers today but I got an immediate reaction when I arrived so I guess I look a little bigger than I thought. It still feels weird because we haven't announced too publicly yet. I've been waiting on my boyfriend and he's been hesitating a bit because he doesn't want to have to deal with his family yet about it...they're a little bonkers so I can't blame him for not wanting to deal. Plus I had a friend who miscarried at 14 weeks a little bit ago. I'm still really terrified about things.@vetgirl2011 My sister seems to have backed off a bit on harping about the baby's room. But I think it's a good suggestion to give her something to do, like maybe starting my registry or something. I know she's really excited for me, so I don't want her to feel bad. Now that the nausea is subsiding at least a little bit, I can at least think more than a moment ahead. My OB has indicated that they will likely want to induce me a week early, mostly because I am AMA. We'll see how it goes, probs depends on if I develop pre-e or anything like that but so far I'm in the clear with things. I have heard that exercise/walking can help with breech -- I have zero experience with that personally, just friends who have dealt with it.
@laurelew how are you doing a virtual baby shower? I feel like we should do something, but I do feel sad that I can't see my relatives in person. I'm also really not big on games. I blame no one who has games at their showers, but I am firmly anti-game for myself.
Also, my adorable niece keeps naming the baby (which she still thinks is her sister) something different every week. This week is Mia. Before this it was Rosa, before that was Laura. I love her! Too funny.
I am going to have my sister and my two best girlfriends help emcee the games. Here is how I am envisioning it: start off by going around and asking everyone to introduce themselves, how they know DH and I, and some quick advice or well wishes. Then we have 3-4 games. I am including printouts of the games in the invitations but that isn't really necessary except for the bonus game: baby belly or beer belly. The other games are "How well do you know mom-to-be," "How well do you know dad-to-be," and "Who said it: mom or dad?" For the "How well do you know" games the emcee for that game will ask the question, the opposite partner will verbally answer, and then the correct parent-to-be will reveal the correct answer, which they have written on paper prior to the game. If guests want to play, they can add their guesses to the chat box of Zoom as the game is being played. A good emcee will be able to narrate some of the answers as we're waiting for the correct answer to be revealed. I think my girlfriends should be up to the task, especially the one.
For the "Who said it game" the game card itself has a set of lips or a mustache that you're supposed to circle with your answer. I have purchased lip and mustache cutouts on Etsy that I will include in the invites so after the emcee asks the question, guests will show their answer by raising a lip or a mustache. Then my DH and I will reveal our answers by raising our own lip or mustache cutout. Hilarity will ensue if we both raise a different cutout (for example I have no idea what DH will answer for "I will be the favorite parent." I'm going to say him but he might say me). I figure the entire thing should be over in about an hour or so. I don't plan on opening gifts on the Zoom call. Instead I may have someone take pictures of me opening the gifts on my own time, and then I'll printout and include those pictures in my thank you cards... if I still have the energy at that point. If not, traditional thank you cards are great too. For the games, I ordered a suite of print at home games off of Etsy for like $8 for the digital download. Super easy. If you're not a paper fanatic like I am, I love Paperless Post for digital invitation coordination. However if you're planning to send out written thank you cards, you may want to think of a way to secure addresses from everyone in advance.
Also I love that your niece keeps coming up with new name suggestions for the baby each week. We had asked my 5 year old nephew for a name suggestion a few weeks back and he came up with Pizza Butt Moonface.

@inthewoods23 I've noticed the same thing with the varying sizes on all of the different pregnancy apps. Just today I got my 19w e-mail from The Babylist and as I was reading my baby size on there (magic 8 ball this week), I wondered if it was saying that's how much the baby weighs? Whereas I think What to Expect goes off of length from what I can understand.
