GTKY: What was your nursery theme for your babes? (I want ideas for a potential sibling 🤣)

Any thoughts about this cycle? This feels a bit like a milestone cycle, since they say you have a 20-30% chance of getting pregnant each cycle. Statistically, that means getting pregnant within the first 5 cycles of trying. Idk, it’s hitting hard right now. I never imagined it would be taking this “long” (totally aware 4 cycles isn’t long. But I need the safe space).

Any questions? Have any of you taken vitex while breastfeeding? Did it affect your supply at all?

Rant/Rave? We took DD to the orchard this weekend and she did amazing! She had so much fun playing and picking apples and enjoying the beautiful weather. She also stopped crying at daycare drop off and today ran to go play without even a hug or kiss goodbye. Happy (and a bit sad) day!

GTKY: What was your nursery theme for your babes? DD has a vintage themed nursery. Lots of florals and vintage touches. I love it!

Any thoughts about this cycle? O'ing late is really throwing me for a loop. I don't really know what to expect for the remainder of this cycle. Our timing was good, so I am going to just remain positive and just hope my period is later than what FF is predicting. When I am not TTC, I usually just track AF through Ovia, and that app says it should come on Sunday while FF says Saturday. I guess we will see!

Rant/Rave? DD is getting used to being without DS at daycare since he is now in kindergarten. It was a rough transition for her, but I think we have turned a corner and she is beginning to like being "on her own."

GTKY: What was your nursery theme for your babes? (I want ideas for a potential sibling 🤣) For my son it was a grey room with red accents. We did a baseball theme. For my daughter it was way more boring because she shared a room with us for a year, but she just had a bunch of light pink girly stuff.

Any thoughts about this cycle?  I don't know whether to write it off or to be very hopeful.  Also I actually realized very late in this cycle that my weird temps might because I was still breast feeding my LO before bed and nap time (like I mean, nothing was coming out he basically used me as a pacifier) - so I just stopped a few days ago and lo-and-behold my temps went up.  Dunno if this is a coincidence - I definitely feel that it would create some wonkiness though!

Any thoughts about this cycle? Just hoping to O when I "normally" would. Cycles AL can vary greatly and using AI makes that a little more difficult.

Rant/Rave? My opks showed up when they said they would be here on the 18th instead of Sept 30th.

GTKY: What was your nursery theme for your babes? We didn't have one. I wanted a gray with rainbow theme as he is a long time wishes for rainbow baby. He ended up staying in our room for awhile and then we knew we'd be moving, so now he has the start of a racecar theme. 

@chindimples04 happy but see when they no longer cry at daycare. 

@daisy528 so glad your DD is getting used to not having your DS with her. That is quite an adjustment.

What number are you trying for? This will be number 7 (see spoiler TW) 

I have 5 living children and 1 angel. I MC in the second trimester and chose to deliver her. 

Month/Cycle? I’m waiting for this cycle to end, which should be any day now, and we will be starting NTNP next cycle. DH said he doesn’t want to go all formal TTC and doesn’t even want me to use HPTs. 🙄 So I guess I will just be hanging out until I get 18 high temps. 

WTO/TWW? I’m waiting AF

Ages of other child(ren)? 18b, 6g, 4b, 3g, 11month old boy. 

Any thoughts about this cycle? No, I’m just hoping my LP is lengthening. I’m still BF and it was only 3 days long a few cycles ago.

Rant/Rave? My 11 month old is teething. He was up 6 times last night and I am dying. He has literally had teeth coming in nonstop for weeks now. I Just need a break. 

GTKY: What was your nursery theme for your babes? I usually do color themes but with my last baby I did a mountain theme.

@chindimples04 It’s so sad when they don’t seem to care that you’re leaving them. I left my 11 month old the other day and he cried for a second and then was fine. First time ever and I definitely felt a little twinge of pain. 

@daisy528 I don’t typically go off of any predictions from an app. I don’t trust them. I chart to avoid and to conceive though so it’s very important that I interpret my fertile window and ovulation myself. I have also never had an app predict my period accurately. Or maybe I am just so used to ignoring the predictions that I don’t notice if it does or not. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 

@canucklehead123 I have done gray with pops of color for nurseries too and I prefer that to some of the character themes. 

@Kenneylynn3 I hope this cycles hurries up and does what it’s suppose to. It took my body a few cycles to get back on track after my loss.

@canucklehead123 that's interesting about your temps. I know a few us breastfeed, myself included. I noticed my temps still behave as they should even though DS is on demand 6-8x a day.

Any thoughts about this cycle? I’m planning to be a rabbit this month and hope that makes things happen. Also have an appt with OB since of my AMA abs how long I’ve had my iud out, though we were NTNP until recently.

Any questions? What kind of Qs should i ask my OB?

GTKY: What was your nursery theme for your babes? 

Florals. 3 pink walls abs one white wall with flower wallpapers. It’s literally my favorite room.

@Kenneylynn3 I dunno it is just a theory - I suspect breastfeeding affects every person's hormones/temps differently.  Last time 'round on the boards I remember a user consistently having wonky charts and a few members said "look, you might not ever get a regular looking chart until you're ready to stop BF"

@canucklehead123 from what I’ve read, breastfeeding isn’t likely to affect temps that much after a year. Because your supply is more demand driven versus hormone driven like in the early days. 

I didn’t realize there were so many on year still breastfeeding! Makes me feel less crazy for still breastfeeding and trying, although I did wean off our morning feed this week. Which I absolutely cried about.

@chindimples04 I have had charts that weren’t smooth when BF at a year. I could barely identify my shift because it wasn’t a huge spike in temp like I’m used to. I was also getting “false shifts” with my Tempdrop. Basically I would get a pattern that mirrored my shifts but my CM wouldn’t line up. So I would have to disregard that and continue waiting. It was frustrating but just part of charting while still BF. Some women can’t get pregnant while BF at all while others can and can continue through their pregnancy. For me personally, I have to night wean and get down to 4 session per day before my body will ovulate.

@emeraldcity1214 I ovulated when I came off birth control right away, and I think we were feeding 1-3 times at night and still 3-4 times a day. Who knows anymore. I have a feeling I fall into the “can’t get pregnant while breastfeeding” category.

@emeraldcity1214 that makes sense that it's different for everyone. I started ovulating about 6 months pp. DW want ready to start trying yet though lol

@chindimples04 are you confirming ovulation every month? Do you have plenty of CM? If you are confirming ovulation, are you doing it through your own interpretations or going off what an app is saying?

@emeraldcity1214 confirming through BBT data, cervical position and mucus, using OPKs, and listening to my body. After having my daughter, I get the most ridiculous ovulation pains that makes it very obvious I’m ovulating. Plenty of CM. My midwife has looked at my charts and agrees I’m ovulating based on all the data. Just nothing sticky yet. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ages of other child(ren)? 23 months plus an stepson who is 11

Any thoughts about this cycle? I’m feeling ok. Timing was -1, O so that’s decent  I had an ultrasound that showed 3 mature follicles on my right ovary so hopefully that increases my chances a bit. 

Any questions? Has anyone had success with certain foods increasing fertility?

@babyfeverbeliever My oldest and second are 12 years apart. The age gap can be very helpful. He used to help me get my diaper bag and all the baby things to the car when we were trying to get out the door. 😆 We had it down so I never even reached for it. He was so on top of it. Plus he got super close to my now 3 year old when she was a baby and he was able to put her to sleep and hold her while I got meals together. Hopefully your stepson will be helpful like that.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Not hopeful but my chart looks pretty good. I got my period back for the 1st time in September so this is only my 2nd ovulation so still early. Add me to the still breastfeeding club. I think he threw off my cycle because I didn’t ovulate until he dropped to 3 feeds and then for 2 weeks he decided to eat like a crazy person and feed for 35-45 mins a day (much more than usual) so I think that may have delayed my O

Safari themed (and I actually got these beautiful prints in South Africa). His nursery was originally in our room as we lived in a small Amsterdam apartment so he had a wall of a nursery. He has a room now but we haven’t done much since we moved when he was 9 months old. I do plan to finish it off one day. This is the before in our old place.

@emeraldcity1214 I have a 9-year gap with my stepson and biological son and he's exactly like your oldest - SUCH a huge helper. And he absolutely loves doing it. He and his little brother are so close, it warms my heart. Even though he's my stepson, I've been with him since he was 10 months old and my husband has sole custody so it's nice that they're able to be together most of the time.

@AKuzReve My 10 mo has been waking a lot at night to nurse because he is getting a ton of teeth. 😫 I’m really hoping he stops teething soon so my next cycle isn’t impacted. 

Also, I love how you used art from a local artist. Such a great personal touch.

WTO/TWW? I'm not sure yet. Based on my tracking, today may be ovulation day, but I guess I'll wait until my temps stay up. 

Ages of other child(ren)? My son will be 1 year old next week - WOW

Any thoughts about this cycle? I'm optimistic, but I still haven't officially gotten my period back since I'm still breastfeeding. Last month I very lightly spotted for a couple days so I went ahead and called that CD1 and have been using OPKs which indicated a surge yesterday...soooo...I'm hopeful that I will actually ovulate and get this show on the road.

Rant/Rave? Love that I'm not the only one still BF! DS shows no sign of slowing down...so I guess I'll just keep going. 

GTKY: What was your nursery theme for your babes? I'm lame...literally no theme. Lots of white and natural woods, some grays.

@canucklehead123 that's interesting about your temps. This is my first month temping and haven't seen too much fluctuation yet. I didn't temp before so I don't have much to compare it with now.

@emeraldcity1214 girl, it would kill me not to use HPTs! That is such willpower to wait. And E has been getting lots of teeth too and only wants to nurse...and he keeps nipping at me

@AKuzReve oof! My LO is the same...he'll drop down to a few feeds and then want to be glued to me for days. I just want my cycle to regulate. Is that so much to ask??

@mc0303 L was biting me awhile back. To the point I thought he drew blood one day. 😬 Not cool! I blow in his face when he does that. As for not using HPTs, I think he just wants me to be as calm about TTC as possible. I’m so much of an A type personality I just go overboard with it all.

@emeraldcity1214 Ouch!! I'll have to try the blowing on his face bc it hurts so bad. I go way overboard with TTC too and I think MH is already annoyed with me He says I'm putting too much pressure on him. But I don't know how to just keep it cool

@mc0303 This is the reason I always come here. These ladies get it. They understand the crazy that comes with TTC and I unload all of it here and then play it cool in front of him. I keep him completely in the dark about my cycle to keep him from feeling too much pressure.
