How are you feeling?: So good - I have energy! and I swapped out my desk chair for one of those huge exercise balls and I use it to help stretch out my hips every morning, which has slowly over time translated to less pain at night.
Rants/Raves: Another tropical storm is building in the gulf so I'm hoping we make it through unscathed again. Fingers crossed!
    Questions: Nope
GTKY: What does your Bump username mean/how did you come up with it? "Han" is a little part of our name and we're gonna be a 'fam' in 2021. Your reasoning is way cooler @whitealbum29

    FTM/STM/STM+:  FTM
    Team:  Green
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of:  Lettuce
How are you feeling?:  Had a day of absolute exhaustion last week that I haven't felt since the 1st tri. Omen of things to come in 3rd tri?
Rants/Raves:  Finally can post photos of myself on social media again, now that we've announced! It's kind of a relief to not have to worry about hiding the baby bump in photos anymore—not that I post on social much anyway. But fun to have everyone come out of the woodworks and congratulate us. I think people needed some good news in their lives about now.
Questions:  Anyone else find that the way pregnancy trimesters are counted doesn't make sense? Why is the third trimester so much shorter? I'm already 6 months along based on due date (3 months exact to due date today), so was assuming I'm in the 3rd tri, but apparently not until week 28?
GTKY: Wanted something original and my favorite color is lavender.

@whitealbum29: one of my fave albums, good choice!
@hanfam2021: I hope the storm passes by without incident.

How are you feeling?: Eh. I had a lot of pelvic pain over the weekend. My husband also thought my feet looked swollen yesterday. I automatically got concerned since I had preeclampsia at the of my first pregnancy. My BP was good this morning when I checked it at work.
Rants/Raves: my son's daycare had a COVID exposure, so they were closed part of last week and don't re open until next Tuesday. Thankfully my husband hasn't had to go anywhere for work, so he can stay with him. My son has to quarantine per the health department, thankfully he is not showing symptoms

    Upcoming appointments:
had a derm appt today. Have an ultrasound and 28 week appt on 10/28. Supposed to do glucose then but not sure if they will now.

    How are you feeling?:
honestly, awful. I haven’t slept more than 4 hours in 2 days. My “PUPPS”  is nothing like my other cases of pupps, it’s on my entire body including my scalp and temples. The derm agrees it’s abnormal. I still think it’s a weird post Covid rash she thinks it’s an autoimmune reaction to an allergy (but going on 5 weeks?!) either way were quadrupling my prednisone. But that will highly effect my blood sugar so waiting to hear what the OB wants to do about the glucose test. And they want me back in with the MFM next week.

    Rants/Raves:
painted baby boys nursery and ordered his bedroom furniture. Feeling lots of progress!

    Questions:

GTKY: What does your Bump username mean/how did you come up with it?
HappyFeet is an ollllld nickname my husband used to call me and our birthdays are March and April.

    glucose test the week before

How are you feeling?: pretty good.. at the gym on the bike currently 😅

Rants/Raves: my moms worked at Sherwin Williams for a long time/retired from there so ya she’s knows her stuff ab colors BUT she’s being a little anal about the color we’re painting the shiplap like we want it whiter so we were just going to do “white” but she’s saying it’ll be TOO white!? 😂 is that even a thing!? But we’re going w snowbound against the worldly grey so I’m sure she’ll chill out 🙃

Questions: when is everyone getting glucose test? I’m so nervous

GTKY: What does your Bump username mean/how did you come up with it?
its my first (nickname) and part of my last name..super cool and unique obbi 🤪😂

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Kale. Fist is the size of a piece of popcorn

Upcoming appointments: 10/21 for a growth scan

How are you feeling?: Overall pretty good; trying to nip the indigestion at night in the bud by chewing gum after meals to increase saliva production because I've read that helps (in addition to Tums if necessary); we shall see. Also a little more tired; I had to take a mid-morning nap on Saturday. Belly is kind of itchy too, but I haven't noticed a rash per se; it's a tad red, but not sure if that's from the scratching.

Rants/Raves: My daughter's daycare opens back up Thursday! I am excited for all of us. Hoping tomorrow isn't too crazy at work so I can spend a little more quality time with her, though.

    Questions:

GTKY: What does your Bump username mean/how did you come up with it? Nickname from college.

@amm126 I hope your son continues to not show symptoms and is OK.
@hanfam2021 Not sure where you're located, but stay safe with the storm!

How are you feeling?: I sound like a broken record every week... Feeling good except for heartburn and an achey pelvis. I guess I can add that my cold is finally going away and it was indeed just a cold. Covid test was negative.

Rants/Raves: Baby’s movements are getting much bigger and I love feeling them.

    Questions: None

GTKY: What does your Bump username mean/how did you come up with it? We love oak trees! So much so that we gave our son the middle name Oak. I was pregnant with him when I started this account and we lived in a forest of oak trees on “Road 6” at the time.
  • @HappyFeet34 I’m really sorry to hear that you’re still super uncomfortable with your rash etc. I hope you can get some relief soon.
  • @lavendarclouds omg me too! I had the exact same exhaustion whammy and it made me realize how much I can't take this 2nd tri energy for granted! I'm not sure what was going on but I did my usual morning routine and my little prenatal workout (I LOVE pregnancyandpostpartumtv on youtube) and then starting around noon I hit a BRICK WALL. I was a zombie. I somehow managed to go with SO for groceries and to get some lumber from home depot and I was literally like the DMV sloth from zootopia. It took me a full minute to buckle my seatbelt.

@happyfeet34 I'm so sorry to hear about your discomfort! Hopefully they figure it out soon

@briemo is there for real such a thing as too white? Because we just got a matte base paint and didn't mix it (they still shook it for us) for our shiplap.
  • edited October 2020
@briemo I'm right there picking colors for the nursery, so I completely understand all the 20 billion shades of white. I looked at your colors and that shade of white you picked is FAR from true white, so I don't know what your mom's problem is. Also, those colors look really good together!
@hanfam2021 hahahaha, laughing so hard at the zootopia sloth reference. No doubt that will be me at times during 3rd tri. In fact, if we have a gif party, I think that needs to be included!  :D
@amm126 oh no! I hope everything continues to be alright for your son.
@HappyFeet34 I'm sorry the pupps symptoms are terrible. Let us know how it progresses.
@oaktree6 glad to hear about your negative test.

Upcoming appointments: Had an ultrasound today where they confirmed marginal placenta previa.  :(  Have another one in 4 weeks to see the status and then get into regular US and NSTs in the hospital.
How are you feeling?:  Good all around, noticing my breathing is more difficult than normal. but thats a mix of squished organs and its always worse in the Fall.  I've gotten some test results back recently and everything is still looking good,  was at risk for a number of possible complications, so I've had lots and lots of appointments the past few weeks.  Seems to be quieting down now.
Rants/Raves: Doesn't really fit into either rant or rave, just weird story. I told my managers at work more than a month ago that I'm expecting.  Didn't tell them my due date because it didn't come up, but they still haven't asked.  I live in Ontario so can take more than a year of mat leave if I want.  We're three months away and there has been no transition planning/hiring to fill my role.  They also haven't asked how long I'm planning on taking off... so weird.
    Questions: Nope

I'm sorry I'm so bad at getting here every week to post.  Some weeks work is crazy and there no time for anything and others are a walk in the park where I'm looking for things to do all day. Ugh.

@whitealbum29 Halmark movie season is the best!  Starts now and goes until January :)
@hanfam2021 great idea with the exercise ball!
@lavenderclouds totally with you on the weird math for trimesters.  28 weeks feels like its still forver away and 14 weeks was so long ago.
@amm126 Pelvic pain sucks, glad to hear your BP was normal though.
@HappyFeet34 sorry to hear about your rash :(  But super exciting that the nursery is coming together!
@briemo IMHO there isn't a thing as too white... but we painted all the walls in our house white when we got it and did the ceilings all different colours.  I haven't talked about a glucose test yet, but I'm seeing my OB next week so might know then?
@supersara2 I'm on the tums train some nights too, haven't heard of chewing gum, will have to try it.
@oaktree6 <3 babys movements, my favourite thing right now!

  • @oaktree6 glad the Covid test was negative!
@hp242 I tried it last night and I didn't need Tums for once, so I think it helped.
  • @hanfam2021 ooh I want one of those exercise/birth balls!
@lavenderclouds I've started taking a couple of mid-afternoon naps lately the way I did in the 1st tri! I was wondering yesterday if it's more pregnancy exhaustion. I also find the weeks/months/trimesters confusing. The book my doctor's office has the weeks broken down into months and apparently I'm actually in the 7th month (weeks 25 thru 28) now. I guess because it's 40 weeks so actually 10 months which is weird...like it December we'll hit 9 months. Anyway I'm no help but I like being precise about dates and stuff so I've just been going by what the book says! And when Ovia says I'm in a new trimester I just go with that.
@amm126 Ugh sorry about the daycare Covid exposure, I hope your son continues feeling ok!
@HappyFeet34 Jeez so sorry about the PUPPS and sleeping issues! Man you need to catch a break!
@supersara2 I hope the itchy belly doesn't develop into a rash!
@oaktree6 So glad the test was negative!
@hp242 I'm also dealing with weird vagueness at work...my direct boss was super excited and nice when I told him in July and he'll check in about how I'm feeling sometimes but the top boss never responded when I told him via email...bizarre. So I don't know how to broach the subject of all the details and logistics! Love Hallmark movie season! Sometimes I think I like the fall ones even more than the Christmas ones... for some reason it's just so nice to watch people walking around cute little towns carrying a cup of coffee with leaves falling around them. :joy:

Upcoming appointments: just had an OB appt yesterday. Blood work scheduled for 11/3 including glucose test

How are you feeling?: mostly pretty good. I can't get comfortable laying on the couch so need to move positions all the time which is a pain. some heartburn but manageable.

Rants/Raves: ugh the discharge. I hate pantyliners and since i work at home I just change my underwear 2-3x per day. gross.

Questions: no one told me to fast for my glucose test my first pregnancy and I just ate a low carb breakfast (just eggs) beforehand but they told me I should fast this time. Already dreading it even though it is first thing in the AM. I passed last time but I'm a rule follower so will probably still fast.

GTKY: What does your Bump username mean/how did you come up with it? I drink a lot of sparkling water... a lot. And my name is Liz. Creative, right?

  • @whitealbum29 those fall scenes are part of why I love Gilmore Girls so much!
  • @hp242 Yes me too! I feel like those two started the idea that watching people drink coffee (or talk about going and grabbing a coffee) and walk through a picturesque New England town in the fall is A+ content.

Upcoming appointments: We had two this week so I don't think we'll have any for a few more weeks. This week was our first check in for growth and everything looked good and on track so far, so that was nice to know.
How are you feeling?: Still good!
    Rants/Raves:
    Questions:
GTKY: What does your Bump username mean/how did you come up with it? I had a really long Knot name many moons ago (maybe 13 at this point) and when I moved to the Nest, this was my shortened version of that name, so I just kept it. I'm still very close with my wedding board group. We've all met so many times over the past 12 or so years since we've been married and many of them still call me "Jaay" in person or online haha. I'm used to it at this point.
  • I thought of a question, how is everyone doing with daycare selection (if you don't already have one)? We've done a couple of tours and I just don't have a feeling yet that we've found the right one. I'm hoping that will actually happen, AND that they will have a spot for us  :|
  • @msjaay Are you in any local parenting FB groups? That’s a good place to start and ask for recommendations.

@whitealbum29 I may or may not have already started Hallmark Christmas movies 😬

@amm126 I’m also having a lot of swelling and had pre-e with my last baby. My doctor said mine looks like “normal pregnancy swelling” that tends to creep up around this time. So glamorous.

@HappyFeet34 So sorry you’re dealing with such an aggressive rash. That is miserable 😔 Hoping they get a solution for you very soon.

@briemo Mine is Tuesday and I’m wicked nervous because this baby is HUGE and I’m afraid I have it. Plus it makes me feel like trash the whole day afterwards.

@supersara2 GUM! Genius! I’m trying this!

@oaktree6 With you on the pelvis. I’m assuming you’ve already tried the support belt? I now can’t really walk without mine. Also woohoo to covid negative!

@hp242 Ugh, so sorry to hear about this diagnosis! But so glad you’re being monitored closely. Everything is going to be fine!

How are you feeling?: Generally okay but SO HARD to breathe! I don’t remember that happening until later with my other two.

    Rants/Raves: None this week

Questions: Have you guys scrapped your normal Halloween plans because of COVID?

GTKY: What does your Bump username mean/how did you come up with it? Its my name. So original.

  • @carleym93 I am! That's where I got the list of recommendations to do our tours. I was just hoping something would feel 'right' after a few visits. We still have a couple of more so maybe we just haven't found the right one yet.
  • @carleym93 No, please tell me more! What brand/ type do you recommend?
  • @oaktree6 I have this one. Its not the cutest thing to look at but man it works wonders. I seriously can’t function without it. My OB actually gave it to me as a prescription, your dr may be able to do that as well.
