Complex Ovarian Cyst-Infertility

I'm wondering if anyone has dealt with Complex Ovarian Cysts and Infertility. I'd love to know your path. I have been on several round of Clomid, a few at 50mg and then two 100mg. It was on the second round of 100mg that I had severe pain (almost went to the ER). I asked for a medication change and ultrasound monitoring for this month's cycle. When I went in for my first ultrasound (cycle day 3) it was found that I have a 5cm complex ovarian cyst that doesn't look typical. The Reproductive Endocrinologist wants me to have surgery to get it removed and seems hopeful removing it would potentially help with infertility. She mad it sound like surgery was not an option but necessary as she needs to see the pathology of the cyst to see what caused it. When I last had an ultrasound 3 months ago apparently the cyst was very small. Has anyone else had this, gone through the surgery and had good results with fertility afterward?
