Re: Weekly Randoms 8/31

  • Driving to the seaside later this week and rented an airbnb in Plymouth (UK)! Can't wait to get a change of scenery. Haven't been anywhere due to covid. Although I am not sure how I am going to fare the 5 hour car ride..... I get motion sickness as it is and now add my pregnancy nausea. Also, does anyone watch the BBC show called "Call the Midwife?" I love it. There is a guided walking tour for Call the Midwife and I am thinking about checking it out. It's outside on the historic dockyards of Chatham.

  • @nolemama24 I haven’t watched Call the Midwife but I watched a couple episodes of Life and Birth. Love these types of shows but it’ll make me too nervous to watch now.

  • @nolemama24 I started watching Call the Midwife a few years ago, but then stopped for no real reason. It is a really good show. My H never understood why I'd watch something that made me cry so much.

I'd love to get away for a few nights. I was supposed to visit my sister in Iowa over Labor Day, but their rate of covid cases got them put on my state's 14 day quarentine list. I didn't want to risk anything, so we cancelled and stayed home.
  • @nolemama24 @duhduhduck I LOVE Call the Midwife!! I watched it when I was pregnant with my daughter and definitely cried so much! I absolutely love the sets and wardrobe... I need to get back into that show!
  • Has anyone felt baby move yet?? If so, how far along were you?? I’ll be 15 weeks on Tuesday but I can’t remember for the life of me when I first felt my son move!!
  • @jfcmomoftwo From what my doctor said it's usually closer to 20 weeks, maybe sooner for those who've been pregnant before. I have anterior placenta so I may not feel baby until even later.
  • @jfcmomoftwo I’ve been feeling flutters on and off since 12 weeks. This is my fourth pregnancy and since I’m carrying twins I think that’s why I felt them so soon. I’ll be 16 weeks on Tuesday.
  • @jfcmomoftwo I had an anterior placenta with my daughter and have it again this time. With my daughter, it was undeniable by 18 weeks. This time, I have been feeling some flutters but I'm not so sure yet. I'm 14w5d today

  • @manillabar looks like two of then worked
  • @kloe818 @travandas @manillabar thanks everyone!! I dug up a note I had in my old phone during my pregnancy with my son and it looks like I felt kicks with him around 15+4. My placenta is posterior so I’m sure it’ll be any day here!!

  • @jfcmomoftwo With my first I felt my first flutter at 15+5. Nothing yet so far this pregnancy.  I've read with subsequent pregnancies, you might feel it sooner, but since it felt it pretty early on with my first, I'm expecting it'll be around the same time.

  • @juliebeannn I feel like I’m in a similar boat over here!! I’m getting close to 15+4 so I’m getting excited.

  • @jfcmomoftwo I was using my doppler today and I swear the baby kicked the doppler.  I had found the heart beat and was staying there for a sec, then I felt a little something on the wand with a little noise that sounded like a record scratching!  It was wild! I remember DS doing this in the womb, too!

  • I’ll be 15 weeks tomorrow and I feel like I have felt something or a flutter of sorts a few times. But nothing definitive.

  • I havent felt anything at all, im super gassy and crampy though. I had an ultrasound  yesterdat and the poor tech had a really hard time getting the images she wanted. The baby was being very uncooperative. My son used to be the same, and now hes a real handful so i guess im in for it 😂😂

  • I'm hopefully finding out the babies gender tomorrow.  Does anyone have any quick cute ideas on how I can tell my kids?  They are 9yo, 6yo and 14 months (I know he won't care...lol).
  • @travandas can you let them open a gift or something?
    travandas
  • @bcashaw I did that when I was pregnant with my last. They keep telling me they want something special. 😂 I wanted to fill black balloons up with confetti and shoot them will my bow but with this hurricane coming it’s going to be pouring...👎🏻
  • @travandas if you have the energy, you could hide something pink or blue and create a treasure hunt for them to find it?

  • @clevans1 That’s a good idea!
