DH told me he'd allow a 2nd cat in the house if we end up deciding to stop trying. So now my brain is trying really hard to not want a 2nd cat.

Incredibly difficult when your FB feed is full of other people's cats from the 10 private groups I'm in for all types of cats  Trying to live the crazy cat lady life vicariously through FB haha

@kpearse99 that's a dangerous game you play . At least with FB I know I can't take any of those cats home! However, people do sometimes post links/stories of animals that need to be adopted and thank god none have lived near me or else I'm gonna be like "hun just look at their faaaaaace!! We should bring them home!"

@inthewoods23 Yea, it's dangerous and a very unhealthy game I play    I follow several adoption centers on FB (from when we were looking 2 years ago) and so I also come across adoptable dogs on my feed. I then send those sweet faces to MH and he tells me to apply for them    Then we look at each other, call ourselves crazy, and then admit that we cannot have a 3rd dog....right now!  But yet, I still play this horrible game.

I want a dog so badly....but my cat would kill me. Every time we get close to just doing it then I look at her and feel guilty at the idea of disrupting her golden years. She's 13, and not a fan of other animals....though if we get a chill dog that isn't interested in playing with her she'd get over it enough to peacefully coexist based off of some dogsitting experiences. I actually think she hates other cats more than dogs

@akoros Our cat will be 13 this fall. We feel the same way. I also feel like a dog can cost more and need way more time from us than our cranky old snuggle girl, so I told DH it's a human baby or a fur baby right now, not both!

as someone with two cats and two dogs (cats are ~8, dogs are 3 and 1), i feel bad for my kitties who steer clear of the pups.  i love them all and happy for our little furry zoo, but it definitely changed the cats' quality of life.  i carve out extra time to pamper.
DH was hellbent on getting a first (and second) dog before we had kids, so hes a happy camper!

We talk about getting a second dog sometimes, but our pup is going to be 12 and we don't want to upend her life and routine with a second dog AND a possible human baby. She doesn't respond to stress well so I think a second dog would put her over the edge.

I decided I wanted to try out the softer versions of the menstrual cup I have. The confirmation email includes this little note:

"We got your order and when we did, the whole office began chanting your name. A uterus firework went off into the sky and people for miles around saluted. And across the world a sea turtle and its clutch of babies waved at you for making their ocean plastic free. History will write you as the menstruator who cared, the one who dared, the one who made a difference."

Can you imagine an actual uterus firework? haha

OMG I can't WAIT to teach my students about @inthewoods23 : The Menstruator Who Cared! That better be in the next edition of our history books.

@_orchid_ glad I could make you laugh! I think I my hormones are crashing from all the IVF meds. I am anxious and laughing/crying at everything all at the same time. Everything is both hilarious and sad! Thanks, estrogen!

I just spent 2.5 hours teaching my 2nd grade niece & 1st grade nephew at my house. I gave them 2 recesses. How the hell am I this tired?!

@keikilove oh yikes I’ve never seen that. Sometimes I only see a small square. Also, I too have a 1st grade nephew. I consider myself a pretty amazing aunt, but that would be a huge nope. No thanks. You rock!!

@capnjackharkness I am not sure about the wait.  When I logged back in to my account after some time in June, I could not post right away. I don't know if I had a 3 day wait or if the Bump was glitching. There were some posts about tech issues and I had had my account on the bump for several years, so I don't think the 3 day wait would apply to me.

Instead of shopping for back to school clothes/supplies, I've been buying fun masks. Latest purchase: lemons, rainbow hearts, and mermaids. This is 2020, people.

@emeraldduchess It’s such a crazy alternate reality we are living in. Some of my teacher friends posted that they now go to work in masks & wearing scrubs.😢

@keikilove I know that some teachers are wearing scrubs because they are working in classrooms with students who have very challenging behaviors and who may need to be physically restrained to keep themselves and others safe. In that case, the teacher would need to change their clothes after extended close-contact, so the scrubs do make sense. It's much easier to have a supply of scrubs at school rather than to have to bring in multiple outfits.
