  • @jchpg Oops 😂😂

  • @jchpg that’s hilarious 🤣
    Me: 36 | DH: 35 | Married: 9.17.16

  • @jchpg omg boob balloons can be fitting tho! God a drive by looks like fun because that’s what I’ll be doing in October!
  • @tryingktogku maybe they were going for the boobie theme! We’re still too new to the neighborhood for me to know, but I doubt it 😅.

It looked nice, they had signs, balloons, a big  decorated table for presents and a tent for shade with maybe 4 chairs. People just drive by to drop off gifts and at one time I saw maybe 10 people out visiting, taking pictures and chatting. I’m still impressed they pulled it off- it was 100 today, and felt like 104. I’m shocked the mom to be strayed out for hours!
  • @autumn87654321 those are fabulous. For anyone looking for a Baby shower theme, naughty boobie balloons are the way to go!!
  • Does anyone else (who is not eating cold lunch/deli meat) just want to cry over not getting to eat Jimmy John's?? Just me? Okay...my family grabbed some in the car today at the drive through because I wasn't hungry and have them the green light and I teared up at the smell and could barely control myself from taking a bite of my daughter's turkey little John....😂😭🤷🙈

I askedy DH to have one ready by mouth so I can take a bite as soon as the baby comes out 😂.
  • @bkinn26
i hadn’t thought Of it, but now I really want some jimmy johns!    I’ve been making my husband sandwiches for his lunches to take to work and sometimes I almost make myself one but then remember I can’t :/ and put an omelet egg or something on it instead.

Maybe you can get a veggie only sandwich at jimmy johns  and bake some turkey breast at home and add that?
  • @bkinn26 @autumn87654321 I was trying to be really good about not eating al of the things we’re supposed to avoid, but now that I’m firmly in the clear for major problems I occasionally let myself have things like lunch meat, or tuna sushi or yolk-ey eggs. I got a Hunter Club from Jimmy Johns last Friday and it was amazing. I have done it maybe 3x total this pregnancy and survived. Not saying you should or shouldn’t go for it, but the book Expecting Better has really helped me get comfortable with occasionally “cheating.”
  • @bkinn26. I have been getting the BLT from Jimmy John's.  It is not as good as the #5 Italian though!  I think you can also get the tuna or veggie, but those aren't my jam (if you still want to stick with the no deli meat train).
I had a friend whose first visitors in the hospital drove three hours to her favorite deli to get her a sub before visiting her.  That is some dedication, but I guess if you get first baby viewing dibs, maybe!  I am looking forward to sushi and prosciutto!!
  • @bkinn26 In my head the dried meats are safer (probably not true at all) So I've ordered sandwiches with salami/pepperoni, or I'll find a deli that roasts their own turkey in-house. Plus I feel like Covid is taking enough away from us, so I'm being a little more relaxed on what I should and shouldn't eat/drink :p

  • I’ve had a few deli sandwiches since we found out, but not very often. Publix (local grocery store) has these awesome chicken tender subs, so if they’re on sale, I’ll get those. My favorite deli sandwich is just a pretty basic turkey on a nice piece of bread with toppings. They’ll toast them for you, too, but I honestly don’t really like heated turkey sandwiches. A BMT from Subway, though? Oh yes, that gets heated 😁

  • I saw a post on Twitter yesterday where someone was reminiscing about a prosciutto, burrata and arugula sandwich on a baguette and I wanted one so badly.  This weekend I heated up some deli turkey in a skillet with a bit of butter and ate it with cheese on a toasted bagel - it was super good and I need to add that to my lunch rotation.

  • @karmba I've been eating a lot of prosciutto/arugula type combo's (check the meal plan thread). So good!

  • I'm glad it's not just me in the cold sandwich craving boat 😅 TBH I am too lazy to @ everyone who responded but I appreciate the responses!

I don't like hot turkey subs, or just veggies, or tuna but if I did...! It'd be on! Bwahahaha!! I might look into the BLT no L (food allergy/intolerance) 🤤🤤

@jbal918 GIRRAFES are my FAVORITE! How fun!
  • @bkinn26 Giraffes and Zebras are my favorite! It was awesome to see them soooo up close lol

  • I feel accomplished this morning because I officially booked a newborn photo session.  The session is tentatively set for 1/3 and it felt weird to be booking something for 2021.

@mom_of_the_vogels oh man I hear you on this.  We are also a beer couple - one of our favorite things to do is go to a brewery.  I knit, DH reads and DS plays on his kindle.  We all enjoy it lol.  I'm also a member of the wine club at a local winery.  I was going to skip this quarter but DH insisted we get the wine because one is billed as being good to eat with brisket lol.  Before getting pregnant, we were getting deliveries from a local brewery - their taproom manager lives a few streets away from us so she'd drop out order off on her way home.

  • is anyone doing maternity photos?  I booked a family session (and all the proceeds go to charity - double-bonus!) but I have no idea what to wear.
  • Not sure if anyone has ever worked with one, but yesterday I had a great virtual session with a good friend of mine who’s a PT specializing in the pelvic floor. She focuses a lot on pregnant and postpartum patients and it was SO informative. I feel so much more equipped to train for labor and she really understood going into this as an athlete. I also have back issues and she gave me lots of info on labor positions that will be most comfortable.

Highly recommend especially FTMs to do some research on your pelvic floor!
  • I’m late to the sandwich talk but with my first son, I didn’t have any cold lunch meat the entire pregnancy. Good thing there was a 24 hour subway in our hospital. FIL went and got me a 6inch sub three or four hours after I gave birth and I was so happy to share my new baby to eat that sandwich 😂 this time I’m still cautious but honestly have forgotten a few times that I shouldn’t be eating it after already eating half of a sub.

I had my anatomy scan yesterday it went really well! I felt baby boy kicking way more than I’ve ever felt before so that was cool too!
  • I had the fetal echo today and they found a small heart defect, VSD. (A hole in her heart.) They mentioned doing an amniocentesis to see if it’s isolated or related to anything that wasn’t picked up on the NIPT bloodwork but I don’t know if I’m going to do it. Right now I’m 100% not and DH supports that but I’m waiting to hear my OB’s thoughts and I’m going to call my MFM doctor because of course the one in there today was the one I’m not comfortable with. The cardiologist who did the scan is my niece’s so I’m very confident in her and I’m going to call and have her explain everything to DH and my twin sister because she has much more knowledge of things cardio wise. If it’s small like she said, it can close on its own but of course I’m worried about the what if’s but whatever happens, baby girl will be seen by a great cardiologist and we will go from there if anything needs to be done after she’s born once they do the echo.

  • @jbal918. Sending you lots of love.  It sounds like you have a good plan going forward and are walking into this well-informed.  We are meeting with a specialist tomorrow about our little boy's heart, so I feel your anxiety about this.
  • @jbal918 So sorry to hear about her heart. ❤️ At least it was discovered so early that there can be a great plan in place going forward

  • @jbal918 Sending all the good thoughts your way! Sounds like you have a good care team. Hope everything works out ok!
  • @shelmcclel Same! I feel pretty okay eating some of those same things too. I avoid turkey, but I generally avoid turkey lunch meat anyway outside of pregnancy as I feel like it spoils fastest and is just generally not as safe. I have really been enjoying some sandwiches lately!
  • @jbal918 sending positive vibes to you!  I'm glad they caught it early and you have time to speak with the right doctors and plan on a course of action.

  • @jbal918 our friends son had this same heart issue - they think related to the umbilical cord only having 1 artery instead of 2. Her son is doing great! I don’t think she did an amino BUT I do know that she found a support group/messaging board for this exact issue of other women/babies with the same issue and she found it really helpful. I’ll ask her where she found it and msg you!
  • @dobiemom11 Good luck today! Hope all is well with your appointment!

@shelmcclel Thanks! I'll check it out when you send it over!

@bearmomma1 @laurenspdx @karmba Thanks for the well wishes!

  • @jbal918 I’m sorry to hear that. That must be so stressful for you right now. I’m sending my love and healthy thoughts to you! , I hope it turns out to be small enough to itself!
I don’t know if it makes you feel better but I have a childhood friend who was born with VSD, I think they did have surgery for it as a baby, and  it turned out well( and now she is a happy healthy adult.

    @mom_of_the_vogels
Having 1 instead of two arteries in the cord sounds  so frightening. I’m glad everything looks great aside from that and continues to be healthy!

Also that sandwich sounds awesome!  I just ate macaroni and cheese shells with some greens in them. But would much rather have the pizza sandwich!

  • @mom_of_the_vogels. When I was in K, we made hotdog buns pizzas at a beach trip.  I told my whole class that was my favorite food.  But it is also super awesome to have pizza bagels (on a good NY bagel although bagel bites aren't bad either).  Sending some love your way!  You got this strong Momma!
  • @jbal918 big hugs hope they give you answers soon.

@mom_of_the_vogels big hugs !!!  Is their a next step or just something to be aware of?

My kids also love pizza bread.  Basically a piece of toast with melted mozzarella and pepperoni.

  • @babymakes9 basically we watch growth rate and wait until birth. As long as baby is growing well that's it for now. After birth they'll check for other possible issues.

From what I've looked up there is a risk (around 20%) that whatever anomaly cause the variation in the umbilical cord could have impacted other things developing at the same time (heart, kidneys, digestive system).

  • @mom_of_the_vogels my friend who had this is a part of the SUA (single umbilical artery) Support Group
on Facebook! I think you can just search for it to find it. Her baby is very happy and healthy, but was born with VSD but has had no problems as a result except annual cardiologist visits!
  • @autumn87654321 and @babymakes9 Thanks!

@mom_of_the_vogels Sending you some love too!
