Amusement parks / water parks .....

We’re at the beach for the weekend with the 3 kids. We’re heading to a waterpark and amusement park. I *obviously* know I can’t ride anything crazy with the bigger kids but can I take 4YO on the kiddie slides, realistically she won’t do anything without me so I feel bad that she may be stuck just sitting by the wave pool with me 😢

  • Totally my opinion.. but yeah I am sure the kiddie rides are just fine, lol!

  • We have season passes for a local amusement park and the summer I was pregnant with DS2 I went on lots of kiddie rides (including a fun slide) because DS1 was only 2 years old. I didn't have any issues, but I did make sure to read the description of the rides and only went on what was comfortable. Enjoy your beach weekend! It sounds so fun!
  • We went to Disney 2 weeks ago and I rode all the kiddie rides with DD and was fine. have fun!

  • I did Disney World early 1st Trimester and went on all the kiddie type rides (and anything deemed ok for preggo people). Kiddie water slides should be totally fine!
  • @laurenmicheley @wychets We had an Epcot trip planned for April that got cancelled. :'( Would have been DH's first trip to Disney, which I wanted to do before kids... People keep saying it's better with kids anyway, but we had been planning to go together as a couple for a while...

We're AVID disney go-er's (both with and without kids). I would not say it's "better" with kids. It's VERY different experiences. Both are absolutely incredible and magical.

There is absolutely nothing like watching your kids' face light up at the magic and how special everything feels in Disney. We took our kids last year and the year before and my heart has never been so happy!

But SO and I have also gone solo, and there's also nothing like drinking around the world or sipping some adult bevs watching the Epcot fire work / water show. I love going with just SO, we always have such a good time!

  • @warmwinter I agree with Ecat. We went to Disney for our honeymoon and it was amazing! A couple of years ago we took DS1, he was almost 2 at the time and while it was fun, it was also very different. I'm looking forward to going again with older kids because I think that will be the best! We're hoping to go again late next year or 2022. 😁
  • @warmwinter I've been to both DisneyWorld and DisneyLand a number of times (as a child, teen, and adult). Epcot is really cool and I'd imagine is a very different experience with children since it's a bit more adult oriented than the other parks. Last time we were there was in March and I was 6-weeks pregnant. I did not get to drink around the world (and never have, because the last time I was at Epcot, I was 17 years old!) or ride many rides. It's still a super fun experience! I ate a lot of dole whip and sat on a lot of benches! I am excited to go back in a number of years with LO (and FX #2) to share the joy and magic of Disney. That being said - Disney is super fun without kids, but I think the real fun of it will be to share it with your children and I wouldn't feel too badly about missing your planned trip this year!
