Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Friday 8/7

    WAYDTGKU: OPKs, Tracking CM

R/R: I’ve had 2 insane days and wasn’t able to make it on here. I basically had nonstop meetings yesterday. We aren’t a big “meeting” company so it was weird for me. It’s Friday though and I’m off next week! I have a packed day again today but if I can power through maybe I can actually relax for a week 🙃. Another rave is that DH has been having problems with his blood pressure. His doctor wanted him to monitor at home for 2 weeks and it’s been really high and it’s been stressing me out (and him too which was probably making it worse). All of a sudden last night and this morning it’s been perfect. I have no idea what changed but I’m hoping so much that it stays normal. I need him to be healthy!

    CS/Q:

  • Month/Cycle: 1/1 AL, started Dec 2019

    CD: 10

WAYDTGKU: Tracking BBT and OPKs, but can’t try unless genetic results come back negative in the next few days. So, possibly benched?

R/R: It’s Friday! I have literally nothing planned this weekend and I love that

CS/Q: preferred app for OPK monitoring?

@bows22 Exciting that you get to be off next week! Anything fun planned? And I hope your husband’s BP stays low! If he isn’t already, make sure he watches the salt and caffeine, and checks BP only after resting for 5 minutes and with legs uncrossed and arm supported. About half the time I find out my people are doing it wrong and that’s why the BP is up.

  • Loading the player...
  • @bows22 I get such headaches doing all day meetings! That's good that his BP is back to normal! FX it stays normal  :)

@fitzfizz Premom has been great the last few cycles with indicating the color comparison between the test and control lines! That's all I use that app for, OPK measurements. I do all my cycle tracking with FF and Flo.

    Month/Cycle: 38/27

    CD: 11

WAYDTGKU: "poking" the bear (me)  :D, OPKs, temping, GF and DF diet, supplements, laughter

R/R: oh man, almost didn't get the CD10 HIO in. We watched Westworld until 10:30 and I was nearly falling asleep. When I'm sleepy I'm more easily annoyed and sometimes that's DH's humor - to annoy me. This is why I said poking above because he's being funny by annoying me and "poking the bear" but since we got the deed done he also poked the bear  ;)

CS/Q: I'm just proud of myself for remembering to test an OPK this morning, which was of course negative.

R/R: FRIDAY! And I get to see my best friend tomorrow for the first time in months.

    CS/Q:

    @bows22 - Woohoo for a week off!

@fitzfizz - No plan weekends are usually my favorite weekends.

  • @inthewoods23 - 10:30?! I would have been sound asleep  :D
  • @inthewoods23 what is HIO? Sorry, that’s one I haven’t seen yet. Still learning these acronyms 🤦‍♀️🤣
  • @sienna221 hump/humping it out  :D
There's also DTD - doing the deed

@gusgus14 I'm always getting tired around 10. Usually earlier if we're hanging out on the couch watching TV. I think a couple times this week I've fallen asleep against DH as we're watching Youtube videos which are typically ones I don't care to watch so I just enjoy the coziness and I'm sure DH enjoys it too.

@bows22 good luck finishing up everything at work today! Do you know why YH blood pressure was high in the first place?

@fitzfizz sounds like you’ve set yourself up for a wonderful weekend! Enjoy! (PS I really enjoy your medical tips!)

@inthewoods23 lol @ “poking” the bear. Happy to hear that your “FW window season” is officially open. (P.S. I’m not as creative with DH; normally we just ask if we want to have “the sexual event” later, an Orville reference. Sometime I ask if he wants to “stick it in”. 🤪

@gusgus14 yay for seeing besties. It’s the most wonderful time! Enjoy. (I’m currently “benched” from seeing mine since she has a 14mo old and I’m going to all sorts of medical appointments and thus at a higher risk for contracting COVID.)

    Month/Cycle: 7/7

    CD: 17

WAYDTGKU: 7-17 different things (wanted to keep the 7’s going)

R/R: rant — not sure where my peak is at. My cervix is up super high; can hardly reach it. My RHR is up a few beats which normally happens the day of peak and day of O. But OPKs are super negative. Yesterday afternoon was a bit darker but back to the lowest Low this AM. I have rapid LH surge so it’s all hands on deck trying to time my water intake and peeing so I can get a good hold in. Blergh.

Rave — I attended a really good TTC 35+ Zoom call yesterday organized by Modern Fertility (I’ve been a customer/fan of theirs for 2 years now and actually co-lead their TTC 35+ channel) and they had an OBGYN there on the call. It was good to be able to get a medical perspective on things. For example a reminder why when you’re over 35, egg quality is the biggest concern as you’re a a higher risk of Down’s syndrome; that’s why you can’t wait as long before seeing a specialist. I sometimes feel like a cop-out going seeking help after 7 mo of TTC when so many here and in the IF thread have been struggling for so much longer. So it was a good reminder that my eggs are stale. Hmmmm. This doesn’t sound like a rave anymore...

CS/Q: temps are pretty steady so 🤷‍♀️.

CS/Q: i am waiting for CH to move over to TWW but i assume i did O.  made an apt for progesterone bloodwork next wednesday.  im hoping CD15 was O day but really unsure because i messed up temping that morning.  once it gives me CH, ill try removing that temp and see if it changes anything.  easy enough to plug back in right?

  • @asf0613 yeah, I think CD15 is a likely O day candidate. And agreed that it's easy to put a temp back in.

  • @acleverusername FW season  :D  that's a good one! I'm also really bad about just saying outright what I want. Like I beat around the bush so much instead of just saying "I want sex". I think it's cuz I grew up in a household where that was never spoken of so it feels super awkward to talk about it. I think it's just plain weird that some OBs are like "do not even contact us until it's been 12 months" while others will be like, sure we can start running some basic exams to check your ute, etc. I think for me, after month 8 I was already thinking we'd need assistance. OR maybe my real beef with the whole thing is that they cut that time in half simply because you went from age 34 to 35. Like why isn't it month 8 or 10 when you're 35. Because we all know working with an RE is slow as f*ck.

@asf0613 DH is definitely a night owl. When he first downloaded Planet Coaster to his computer it was during one of his furlough weeks and he'd be up until FIVE AM playing. OH MY GOD. I just can't imagine being up for that long. And he was doing it the weekend before going back to work after furlough and I'm like, can you stop screwing up your sleep schedule?? You're back to work in a day, get some damn sleep! So glad your power is back!! And I thought my 20 hour power outage a couple months ago was bad! I guess that's a perk of living in the midwest over being on the coast. We just have nasty thunderstorms (and sometimes tornadoes). No massive winds and hurricanes here.

  • @inthewoods23 ive been in this area my whole life, and in our house here for 4 years.  i have never lost power like this!  it was more frustrating because work was busy and i couldve otherwise been WFH but had to go in to work.  i saved most of my groceries in my work fridge so i didnt lose a ton.  ill take power outages (even 3 days like this one) over tornadoes any day!

  • @inthewoods23 so true about 34 > 35, 12 > 6 months. Although from yesterday's session it sounds like it's an insurance thing; like insurance requires you to try for 12 months before age 35? I wonder how they police it though. 🤣

WAYDTGKU: Letting the red river loose....then all the things that I’m too lazy to type out 🤣

R/R: No race. Friday’s aren’t exciting here because DH works Thursday-Monday, so its only his Tuesday.

    CS/Q: Just boring AF temps.

@bows22 I hope you are able to truly relax next week!

@fitzfizz I use Premom to read the strips and keep pictures of them but all the data is put into fertility friend.

@inthewoods23 🤣🤣🤣 OMG! I’m dying at the “poking the bear”.

    @acleverusername 🤞🏼🤞🏼 For a peak OPK soon!

@asf0613 Yayy for power! Hoping things are going okay there! I’d say O day was CD16. 🤞🏼 for CH tomorrow!

  • @inthewoods23 I definitely giggled at work earlier about “poking the bear” haha

@gusgus14 I am also solidly asleep every night by 9:30. 10:30 would be a stretch even on a weekend!

@acleverusername Is Modern Fertility an online group?

    @asf0613 Definitely agree with a CD15 O

@chindimples04 LOL at “the red river”

  • Gah I never made it back here today. I have 2 very new people on my team that still need a decent amount of direction so getting them ready for the week was a project. I think they are in great shape though so I’m feeling good that things will keep moving while I’m gone.

@fitzfizz thank you! we do a a mini-trip planned for the second half of the week. It’s a beach but private and not a tourist area. We’re staying in a private home, taking groceries with us, and will only get takeout so I’m feeling pretty comfortable but will feel better when we get there and it’s hopefully not crazy. And thank you for the tips about the BP. For the most part we are pretty salt-conscious (although we used to be VERY strict and could do better now) and he has cut back on caffeine. He’s also been trying to lose weight and exercise more. The doctor told him to rest for 20 minutes and it’s not realistic so I think since he can’t do 20 that he isn’t resting at all so I will let him know that 5 minutes is better than nothing haha.

@i@inthewoods23 Nice job on powering through the CD10 HIO! And good job on the OPK too! May hype!!

@gusgus14 Have so much fun with your BFF!

@acl@acleverusername We’re not exactly sure why it’s high. He’s on some other medication for a health issue that is kind of new so I’m wondering if it’s a side effect they don’t know about yet. He’s on medication for his BP though. But then it started creeping up again. I think part of it is that he is worried it’s going to be high but then that makes it high. Anyway, your zoom call sounds interesting but kind of stressful. My OB and RE both said that they aren’t concerned until 40 so I’m going to focus on that and pretend like I didn’t read your thing haha. I hope you get that + OPK soon!

@asf0613 so glad your power is back! I think FF is going to really want to give you CH on CD 16, especially if you discard that temp. But I’ll be curious to see what it does!

@chi@chindimples04 goodbye red river haha! I hope the rest of “your week” goes by quickly until YH’s Friday!

  • @chindimples04 lol at your entire WAYDTGKU section

@fitzfizz Modern Fertility is online. They’re a product first (started out with their at home Day 3 hormones test; and have recently added OPKs and HPT to their line of products) but they have a large community to back their clientele and I actually don’t think you need to have bought anything to join.

@bows22 sounds like you’re in tip-top shape for your week off! And yeah... you’d be right to forget what I said! It had me in a rotten mood all day long to the point I actually asked DH if we’re wasting our time with IUI starting next cycle and should just go straight to ER. Blergh. Luckily he talked me off the ledge.

Also, thanks @chindimples04 @bows22 @bbrahmbhatt for cheering for my ovaries. Sadly no positive OPK yet, after testing 3x today. Sigh. My CM is starting to change for the better though so I’m hoping tomorrow. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
