Hi there! 

Ages (you and SO): Both 32

How many months have you been TTC?: 8 months/9 cycles 

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: We are trying to go low stress right now so I’ve stopped OPKs and we are basically just DTD enough to cover our bases. I will be talking to my doctor next month about doing some bloodwork. I know that my ovulation is weak and I also have somewhat short cycles.

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): 1 kid, 2 pit mixes, and 2 cats (including the dapper gentleman in my profile picture). I am a contracts manager at a software company. I’ve worked there for 9.5 years and I’ve been in my current position for about 7 years. Hobbies? Hmmmmm does sleeping count? But really I love lounging around watching tv and I also spend a whole lot of time with my husband renovating our house. 

I think that’s pretty much it! I’m really just looking for a community to share in this process and all that goes with it.

Ages (you and SO): 35 and 34 (almost 35)

How many months have you been TTC?: Hit the 2-year mark this month. I've been able to get pregnant twice in that time (October 2019 and April 2020), but neither were ultimately successful, both ending at around 15-16 weeks. 

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Since our initial round of tests came back normal (standard panel, NxGen on me, sperm for him) we've just been trying to hit the timing right (I use cheap Pregmate OPK strips to figure out when I ovulate). However, since I now have two consecutive losses my doctor is referring me to a MFM for further testing/evaluation. 

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): No kids, still trying for our first. I have an old-lady cat who I got just after graduating from college and are thinking about getting a dog. We've wanted one for years, and now seems like a perfect time since we're both working from home for a few more months (at least) and have settled into our new house. The cat will hate it, but if we can find a dog that doesn't harass her too much she'll get over it. I'm an economist with the government, focusing on international trade policy. Hobbies are travel (not now, though), cooking, reading, gardening (not that good at it, but learning), and photography (also not that good at it, but enjoy fiddling with a camera). I'm also almost 2 years in to knitting a big blanket. I'm not working on it constantly, it's just something to keep my hands busy, so I planned for it to take forever. I should learn to knit more stuff, right now I only know how to do scarves and blankets, but even someone like me who loves scarves and blankets can have too many.

Good morning all! 

I am unfortunately back much sooner than expected. Some of you I remember from when I was here in Dec-Feb, others I am looking forward to getting to know.

Ages: I’m 31, he is 38

How many months have you been TTC: Originally started December 2019, successful fairly quickly, but that unfortunately ended in a devastating loss at 22 weeks. 

WAYDTGKU: Starting to track now since I have been cleared by my OB to try again.

Tell is about yourself: No kids yet, but we have one cat and I am definitely a bit of a cat lady.

a long 21 months so far

OPK’s, Tracking BBT & first round of IUI

Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): 

My name is Katy and my amazing husband is John. We’re from New Jersey and have two gorgeous Golden Retrievers, Kiko & Koda, so dog hair is an everyday accessory. John works for the Department of Transportation for the state and I work for local government in the Senior and Social Services Department. 

This month we started our first round of IUI...currently about halfway through the dreaded TWW. I go for bloodwork in the morning to test my progesterone levels. 

While I have many many members of an amazing support system in my life, I find it extremely difficult to talk about just how hard and trying the “trying” can be. I’ve never exactly been an open book when it comes to my emotions and lately I’ve been feeling like I just need to let it all out. I thought, what better place than to a community of others who can understand alllll of it with me. The sad, the awkward, the angry, the funny and of course the annoying moments of this journey. Hope this is an alright board to discuss these feelings on! If not please point me in the right direction!

You may want to check out the weekly IF thread, where you'll find ladies in similar situations (months/years of trying) and you'll be able to ask any questions you might have IF treatments, current or future.
