Thanks everyone! I just posted in the US thread. Everything seems to be fine from the looks of the US! So they don’t know why I have been bleeding. 🤷🏼♀️
I passed a blood clot last night about the size of a quarter and have been freaking out ever since. I barely slept last night. I have an ultrasound this afternoon and will know more then. I’m 12w2.
Sending you hugs @myfingerhurts Hopefully you'll get some reassurance!
AFM, Monday was a literal actual nightmare. Starting Monday afternoon, I started the most terrifying bleeding. Bright red, gushes of blood, at one point I passed a clot the size of my palm. I spent most of the evening on the phone with the emergency line for my ob. Thankfully, I had an ultrasound scheduled to check on my freaking SCH anyway yesterday, so I had to hold on until then. I had to go in alone, thanks covid, and I genuinely expected to be told the babies were gone. Thank god both babies are ok, strong heartbeats, I saw them moving around, and they're measuring on target.
Apparently, my SCH has not shrunk, it has grown. That is, according to my doctor, not common but not unheard of, so basically the story of my life. I'm supposed to expect another big bleed at some point, so that's something to look forward to

Argh TB keeps eating my response! @myfingerhurts I hope your ultrasound goes well
@mvt2003 yikes! I’m glad the babies are still ok but sorry the SCH is growing! Bleeding is always scary, even when you “know” where it’s coming from. Hope it starts to shrink soon and those babies keep staying put 🤞🏾🤞🏾

Quick update - ultrasound went well, good heart beat and baby girl was all over the place. It was so cute! I had to go to the perinatal specialist bc of AMA, and she couldn’t find any reason for the bleed - and she really took a lot of time looking. She said it could be a few different things:
- A SCH they couldn’t find bc it was so small or is now gone with the bleed - My cervix being sensitive from exercise or adult cuddle time - At this time everyone’s placenta is near the cervix, later called placenta previa, that can sometimes cause bleeding - they don’t call it that now bc it’s really just the size of the uterus, nothing to do with placement
She also checked for bleeding behind the placenta pretty thoroughly and didn’t see any - but sometimes the placenta separates and can cause bleeding.
Just wanted to share in case this is helpful for anyone else who experiences a bleed! It sounds like the longer we go the less likely it is to be a loss and more likely to be one of the above.
@mvt2003 That sounds abolished awful. ☹️ My bleeding has been bright red too which definitely freaked me out. I’m so sorry to hear the SCH got bigger and that this is something you may have to continue to deal with.
@myfingerhurts Sounds like we are in the same situation. My bleeding has continued on and off but has mostly calmed down for the moment. It’s so weird that there is no identified explanation but the US tech told me that this happens to a lot of women. 🤷🏼♀️
I’ve been having some cramping this week (starting the day after my ultrasound on Monday, of course, which by the way, the ultrasound was normal) which I emailed my doctor about. It’s felt a little like period cramps, however my doctor said this wasn’t anything to be concerned about, just try to rest some each day and try warm baths. However this morning I passed a tiny gray clot, no larger than a dime. I’m trying not to worry, but the cramping has continued, so it’s hard not to. Thankfully it doesn’t seem to be getting any worse, and there’s no blood, but it’s pretty consistent, so it has me a little concerned.
Oh it didn’t look like that. It didn’t look like a discharge of any kind, it was like a piece of something, totally opaque. Sorry, TMI! My doctor said it doesn’t sound like anything to worry about, but he’s offering to have me come in for an earlier ultrasound anyway for peace of mind, which I appreciate.
Well I was hoping that I wouldn’t be posting my own update here again but last night turned into a nightmare. My spotting from last week had just stopped and I was feeling really optimistic about everything again. I went to bed around 8PM and woke up at 9:30 completely covered in blood. 😭 I walked into the bathroom and there was literally a trail of blood following me. As soon as I got to the toilet I passed a HUGE blood clot. So I called my doctors emergency line and thankfully it was my actual doctor that called me back. She said that because I’m not cramping it’s probably not a MC and that they likely just missed seeing an SCH on my ultrasound last week. She told me I could go to the ER if I wanted some peace of mind but she didn’t think it was necessary unless I started to cramp and have increased bleeding (which I honestly cannot imagine more bleeding then what I already had). So I decided not to go to the hospital, particularly because it was already 10PM and I would have had to go by myself. So now I don’t really know what’s going on but I’m still bleeding. 🥺
@jenotontx I’m so sorry this is happening to you. It’s a good thing your doctor answered the phone; hope she assuaged some of your worries. Thinking of you...
I'm so sorry @jenotontx , that must be so incredibly stressful. I'll be praying for good news! My heart sinks every time I see new posts in this thread 😢
@jenotontx I'm so so sorry this is happening to you. That sounds exactly like my last week, the amount of blood was unreal, and the clots scared the crap out of me. Hopefully they're getting you in for a checkup, but please know that the no cramping is a very good sign, and SCHs can bleed a LOT, with everything still being ok.

@jenotontx Glad you've stopped bleeding! Did they see anything on ultrasound? I'm still spotting, but it's brown now, so that's ok. Just holding on until my ultrasound next week at this point.

@mvt2003 I’m not convinced the Dr. actually saw anything on the US. She said that it’s behind my placenta but I’m not sure she actually saw something. 🤷🏼♀️ I think she is assuming that’s where it is because she couldn’t see it anywhere else. I’m glad your bleeding has slowed down!! Hopefully the US will show that things have improved.
