    Month/Cycle? 2/2

WTO/TWW? WTO; O is expected Sunday

Ages of other child(ren)? DD is 14.5 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? I feel like it’s too early to have thoughts. 🤣 I’m optimistic that at least the lining of my uterus would be prepared enough to host an embryo if all works out after the AF I just had.

    Any questions?

Rant/Rave? For the love of teething! DDs bottom right lateral incisor broke through two nights ago and her bottom left molar broke through yesterday. She just screams in the MOTN if she wakes up and even refuses to nurse, which is super unlike her. We did buy her a water table that arrived on Saturday and I love having something she can play with that doesn’t require me to fill it up every single time (looking at you inflatable pool).

GTKY: Who is your favorite TV family and why? I love Full and Fuller house! Minus some unnecessary dead parents, that would be the kind of family I would love to raise!

Any thoughts about this cycle? First time temping ever, so a little confused between that and still bf. Hoping I predicted O correctly.

Any questions? Not at the moment.

Rant/Rave? Rant: DS is making me exhausted. Lately he's been waking between 1-3 which is fine, but then he wakes at 5 am ready for the day. I'm exhausted.

GTKY: Who is your favorite TV family and why? Can I say Friends? I love how they are like family to each other. I've always wanted a friend group like that (not like them, but one that's like a family).

@chindimples04 the water table was great last summer. For some reason this summer DS couldn't care less about it. Whomp whomp.
@Kenneylynn3 DS has always been an early riser and I am not a morning person. Recently he has given us mostly 6:30 wake ups and a few 7 am's! There's hope!

Any thoughts about this cycle? Just generally down. I just feel like there has to be something wrong for it to have taken us this long. We aren't just having unprotected sex, we are having timed intercourse through tracking ovulation multiple ways. It's just so so odd that we conceived on the first cycle after I got my IUD out last time and this time has been such a struggle. It could just be shitty luck. I follow Mom Brain Therapist on IG and she does polls every weekend and one question she shared yesterday was "TTC for another baby for 6+ months?" and only 14% said yes.

    Any questions? nope

Rant/Rave? see above lol. DS slept with a pillow for the first time last night and he loved it. He calls it bubble and I could hear him on the monitor when he was falling asleep talking about his bubble.

Rant/Rave? I didn't want to say this in the TWW thread out of respect to not discuss my previous pregnancy but I am currently having really wishful unicorn thinking that I may be KU right now. I started spotting really light yesterday and have been waiting for AF to kick in but it hasn't. I had implantation bleeding with my first pregnancy and this looks/feels exactly the same (I'm also having really mild cramping). However, I do normally spot leading up to AF and this is my first cycle off BC so my body could just be responding weird. I am giving it until tomorrow morning to see if the spotting/bleeding starts to pick up more otherwise I am going to test first thing tomorrow morning. Watch though... I will be back in like an hour to update that AF had shown her ass up!

GTKY: Who is your favorite TV family and why? I'm so lame because I really don't watch a lot of TV!

@kennylynn1990 Even the waking between 1-3 would kill me! I need my sleep, which is my biggest concern about going through the new born phase again. It almost did me in the first time.

@chindimples04 The water table sounds like a lot of fun! Sorry to hear about the teething troubles. We had a few rough days too recently.

@krash_ Hopefully it's just bad luck and everything is totally fine with you and your DH. I had timed intercourse through tracking ovulation and it took us 4 months with my DD. Our timing seemed excellent every month so why it took until month 4 is beyond me (not saying 4 months is a long time but why not month 1-3, ya know?) The only thing we did differently in month 4 was we started to use pre-seed. So I have always wondered if that may have actually made a real difference for us.

  • krash_krash_ member
@jenotontx I have preseed but haven't used it much. I've heard it isn't better than your own natural lubricants and I don't have a problem in that area usually.

@krash_ Oooo I watch/respond to the mombraintherapists's things and thought that was veryyy low, too. When I'm looking at those I'm always wondering what could be skewing it like maybe some people don't want to respond if it took longer or if they had multiple kids, do they just do the shortest one? Also, I love Parenthood. We watched it on Netflix after it had aired (maybe 2 years ago so after we had DD1) and went through it so fast.

@jenotontx Oooo that's exciting! Fingers crossed.

Any thoughts about this cycle? I am hopeful. I just realized the other day that this was around the time I got my bfp for my first loss. I checked my chart and the dates are EXACTLY the same. My peak readings, our BD dates, everything exactly the same. So I'm weirdly hopeful this cycle will end well and be a redemption of that loss.

    Any questions? Nope:)

    Rant/Rave? See above!

GTKY: Who is your favorite TV family and why? Peppa Pig's family. Seriously. They have infinite patience and are always laughing and having fun together.
  • @Kenneylynn3 I'm still breastfeeding and temping too. Are you using OPKs? One thing I've learned is not to worry about temping at the same time every day if you have multiple wake ups etc. Just temp after any decent bout of sleep. I usyally temp anywhere between 4am and 6:30am and my charts are all clear and easily show O. Are you using OPKs too?

@krash_ Don't get discouraged! It took us only a couple of months to conceive our first then it took 8 cycles to conceive our first loss, 9 cycles for our second loss, and then we conceived our second daughter on our 1st cycle trying after the D&C. So it was a total of 18 cycles to get our second baby. Don't be discouraged! Also, I love the Bravermans too!

@jenotontx I'm so excited for an update! FX there is a pretty line to tell us about soon! I'm only 7dpo but my chart looks so similar to my last 2 bfps that I am dying to test too!!!
  • @Panaceia I was using opk's, but realized they expired. If this cycle doesn't work, I'll get new opk's.

@Panaceia BFing over here too and i think the triangles don't really make a difference in my chart. Time range of first wakeup is the same as yours, too. My cycle this time was a little wonky but temping after DD1 while BFing we tried earlier than this while still BFing and it was clear. Hoping this cycle is as good as you expect it to be!

@Kenneylynn3 yup, I ordered new OPKs after this cycle didn't work (didn't use the expired ones this time and kicking myself for not even trying but I'm going to do all the things next cycle).

AF showed up in earnest before bed last night so I think that makes me on CD2 even though it was pretty late. Anyways, finally off to WTO.

Rant/Rave? Anyone else save all their baby stuff? I have saved it all, other than car seats. It is so expensive. I figure if we have a boy or a girl the clothes from DS will be useful. Part of me is a little worried because I will probably need to go through bins and bins of things, but it will be a good project for me. Part of me wants this pregnancy to happen so I can get to work. I don't want to start going through it yet, partly because I am worried about jinxing it and partly because I would sort through things differently if I am clearing it out for a baby vs. clearing it out for no second child.

@krash_ I'm sorry you are feeling so discouraged. I've been there. There is a good chance that there is absolutely nothing wrong and your next little one just isn't quote ready to join you. It can take a healthy couple a full year to conceive with timed intercourse. There also could be something that is making it difficult to conceive. Have you had a physical with full lab work done recently? I had IF testing done after we had been TTC for 16 months and it showed a thyroid issue which would have shown in the bloodwork that I was scheduled to have at my physical the next month (which I had been putting off for ages). Then it took 4 months to get into my endocrinology specialist and another few months to get my thyroid hormones level, then a month later I got my BFP. Point being, I had an underlying condition that, had I not put off getting a physical done I might have found out about it sooner and been able to get it under control sooner. This is not the case for everyone though, I just wanted to share my story in case it might help you! If you are interested in getting IF testing done, there are certain things your PCP could look at such as thyroid function if you aren't wanting to wait until 12 months to get IF testing done. FX you will get your BFP soon!!!

Any thoughts about this cycle? Just excited to actually have a cycle back and have a chance at conceiving now!

Any questions? Anyone hear about soy causing issues with fertility? Our chiropractor just told DH and I both to avoid soy since we are TTC and now DH is taking it veeeerrrrry seriously. Turns out my favorite protein bars that I'm totally addicted to have soy as the first ingredient and he wants to throw out the two big boxes we just bought.

Rant/Rave? I'm just so happy my cycle returned and I didn't have to stop breastfeeding DD!! Although I better get KU quick because it had been almost two years since I had AF and I forgot how much of an emotional wreck I am with AF

GTKY: Who is your favorite TV family and why? I'd have to go with Friends. I have a friend group that is like family so I can definitely relate. Although maybe not as close as the characters on the show lol.
  • @kvh22 I mean I'm 41 and SO is 53...it took 18 months and 2 MMCs to get DD2 so the chances of it happening on the first cycle for us are pretty slim...but I'm choosing to be hopeful:) I'm holding on to the coincidence as a good sign regardless!

@DoubleUp8 Yes! We kept everything even though I was initially convinced that I wanted to be OAD. Even though there are 5.5 years between my girls we are able to reuse everything (I did buy a new infant car seat so hopefully we'll get a chance to use it again). I'm hoping we get a chance to use it all again. DD1's baby clothes are pretty gender neutral so I think we'd be good either way:)

@lee^2 Yes to the soy. SO and I both avoid it while TTC and I also avoid it during pregnancy.
  • @panaceia our first loss was conceived in July, too. I thought it would give me anxiety, but I like your idea of it being redemptive.

@DoubleUp8 I saved everything, too! I already went through DS's newborn clothes and since we were Team Green with him, we really don't need anything... which kinda makes me sad because I want to shop for baby clothes this time

@DoubleUp8 I kept everything but DD1 isn't even 3 yet and DD2 isnt even 14months. I can count on one two hands clothing items I've purchased for DD2 and it's amazing. I'm not a minimalist so DD1 had a lot of clothes. We were team green for both.

@lee^2 I don't avoid edemame and use soy sauce sparingly but processed soy in packaged products, protein powders, etc. I avoid. I also probably have edemame once a month MAX.

  • @DoubleUp8 we kept some clothes, but donated some. Besides that we kept everything. DW thinks I'm crazy and that we will just buy new anyway even though DS is only 16.5 months. We were team green last time, but I think most of the clothes are blue ... But I will put a girl in blue if we have a girl. Plus I know both Grandma's will buy the new baby plenty of clothes.

  • @DoubleUp8 I stupidly sold DDs newborn sized clothes but I have kept everything else. This we didn’t use I also sold, like her Bumpo and tummy time mat. I still have her infant car seat, too, but it’s accident free and doesn’t expire for another 4 or more years, so it’s still safe to keep. :-) MH is pretty convinced he can only produce girls (even though we only have the one) so we kept ALL THE THINGS.

@lee^2 I appreciate your insight. While the standard is "12 months for a healthy couple to conceive" my Dr did admit that the data surrounding that is outdated and not necessarily indicative of couples with tracked and timed intercourse but just unprotected sex. From my research with some more recent scientific articles most healthy couples do conceive closer to within 6 months. It's not impossible for it to take longer than that for no good reason but the likelihood that there is a reason increases. I have gotten initial blood work done (it was normal) and if this cycle isn't the one then I will be getting an HSG and MH will do a SA. I'm also just a proponent of being our own health advocates and I don't think we should have to move mountains to know how our own body is functioning.

RE: soy; soy can affect your hormones especially estrogen. It is one of the reasons MH and I are both doing a Whole30 right now. It has been years since I read it but the book It Starts With Food, which is the bases of the Whole30, goes into detail about how certain foods can negatively affect our bodies and throw our hormones way out of whack.

@krash_ I hope that if there is something going on that you get it figured out quickly. That's good that your initial blood work was all normal, though I know how frustrating it is not to have answers. It's fantastic that you are taking control of your own health. I wish I had done a better job of that the first time around. When we were TTC for our first we were young and at the time I didn't have a doctor that I trusted. At 12 months TTC I voiced concern to my OB, who wouldn't test me but did an SA on DH which showed low motility and count so we were bounced around to a couple different doctors until we talked to a specialist that said he wasn't very concerned with DH's low count because he made up for the low count in volume so we were finally referred to a fertility clinic where they finally did testing on me, 4 months after I had originally talked to my doctor. That testing revealed that I had hyperthyroidism so they referred me to an endocrinologist but then told me that hyperthyroidism doesn't cause issues with fertility, they only saw issues if it was hypo. Which is sooooo not true. And as a fertility clinic I can't believe they told me that. So, during the 4 months it took after I was diagnosed to actually get into the endocrinologist we had 3 failed IUI and were going to start the IVF process when I finally had my endocrinology appointment where I learned that hyperthyroidism absolutely does cause infertility and can cause MC so we put IF treatments on hold so I could focus on treating my thyroid and as soon as my body was functioning properly I got pregnant. Anywho sorry I'm rambling but yes, being your own health advocate is so important. I learned that the long and hard way.

Thanks everyone for your insight on soy, cutting it out of my diet immediately!

@krash_ I had heard the same thing about tracking/timed intercourse. That was part of why I wanted to temp and chart. I'd basically read that if you are temping and confirming that you had good timing and ovulated for 6 cycles, you can start running tests then instead of waiting the full 12 months. Have you reached out to your OB? Obviously a lot can change in 3 years but I've also kind of thought that if it took a while this time, since we got pregnant quickly with the previous 2 that they might be less likely to take us seriously.

DD2 had started sleeping through the night and then hit a regression and she now is sleeping better again (7:30-5 last night and then DH got up with her and she slept in his arms until almost 7). This will help my temping so much if I'm not having to take over for him at 4am. That has been my line for feeding her and then she ends up falling asleep in bed so I'm usually awake for the day (we don't bedshare). So I have to temp then but sometimes she's fine until 5, sometimes 6, etc. DH has been up with her part of most nights the past couple of weeks but when and how long she goes back down has been a crap shoot. I think this cycle I'll be able to temp with fewer triangles. While I don't think they're actually effecting my chart much, the perception and potential uncertainty is frustrating.

    Babysizer Cravings Pregnancy Baby Tracker

  • krash_krash_ member
@kvh22 yes I had a consultation with a new OB that said she specializes in fertility about a month ago after being brushed off by the DO I had been seeing. She said that she would be comfortable running tests but did say that because we easily conceived the first time, I have been detecting ovulation each cycle and that I am generally healthy it was unlikely that I have a fertility issue. She did say it's possible MH has a sperm issue and of course there is always the rare cases where you got pregnant easily the first time even though it was a 1 in a million shot and there is an unknown fertility issue. She has been really supportive of testing so far so hopefully we get some more information soon or better yet, KU.

As far as temping at different times, I'm sure it is different for everyone but I find at as long as I temp right when I wake up after a solid stretch of sleep, it doesn't matter what time it is. So if DS wakes up at 5 am screaming, I will temp and hope and pray he falls back asleep. If he sleeps all the way until 7 (rare) and I haven't been woken up yet then I will temp then and usually its pretty consistent. The more cycles you temp the more data you will have to know whether or not a temp makes sense for your follicular or luteal phase.

@krash_ I'm glad you're being taken seriously! Do you have any specific tests planned?

And yea, I think for temping, it's been fine I think with the slight variability but when ppl were looking at my chart in TWW they were making comments about how it's hard to be sure with so many triangles so even though I didn't think it mattered, I see how others might think I should temp at the same time every day.

@kvh22 if I'm not KU this cycle then I'm supposed to call on CD 1 to get the HSG (hysterosalpingogram) where they use contrast and x-ray the uterus and fallopian tubes to make sure there isn't a blockage. And a sperm analysis for MH.

TBH, I just set a default time in FF as 6 am and even if my temp is a different time I just leave it. If I really think the temp is throwing my data off I will discard it.

@krash_ so glad you're getting started next cycle but hopefully you won't need it! That's smart with the FF times for temps.

@DoubleUp8 I didn't want to throw this in the WTO thread but my temps orally were sooooooo weird. Literally on the cycle I got pregnant with DD1 there was no clear delineation at all. I had equal high and low temps before and after what had to be O. I was using OPKs that cycle but started them at CD15 and ovulated on CD14 apparently according to the 8 week ultrasound with her. I took OPKs and was still HIO the day before getting my BFP with her on CD31...when the previous cycle was 45 days long and the cycle before that was 60 days long.

  • @kvh22 that must have been a big surprise! So far my temps orally have have been pretty consistent. Of course, now my brain is going "is your BBT inaccurate to be getting such consistent temps?" This whole process is so mind bending. That said I love the data from temping and it gives me something to feel like I have a small handle on this

Also, DH has been asking a lot more questions about timing and chances than he did when we were TTC DS, so it has been nice to be more informed.
