Re: All Trimester Check-in June 29th

• How far along/EDD? 34+2/Aug 4
• How are you feeling this week? Okay. Just okay.
• Rants/Raves? Questions? Hoping just a day or two more of going into the office and that’s it. I’m done going into the office.
• Any upcoming appointments? NST on Friday.
• GTKY: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream (or cake if you're not an ice cream person)? Mint Chocolate Chip! But I prefer the chocolate to be shaved, not chunky. Lately a lot of brands switched up the chocolate to be more chunky, and the overall flavor of the ice cream more chocolatey. I do love chocolate but when it comes to mint choc chip, I want the dominant flavor to be mint, not chocolate!

Hi all, I'd like to join you here. I'm only 4 weeks and 5 days. Due 3/3/21. Had third beta today, it was exactly double the corresponding beta 14dp5dt in my last pregnancy.
I feel good except for bladder pain. Got it checked out, just my usual interstitial cystitis.
Rants/raves/questions. I've had trouble sleeping through the night and I get hot frequently. Anyone else have that (if you remember)?
I am so excited to be pregnant again but I do have a lot of anxiety. The due date of my last pregnancy was 6/26/20 and found out today that a neighbor had a baby girl the same time my girl was due.

TW : this is my third pregnancy; I had two miscarriages last year.

Husband only talks about work and I wish he'd act happier, but I suppose he's holding his breath until we get past the point where we lost the last baby @ 10 weeks.

Viability scan in three weeks. Really looking forward to seeing baby and heartbeat.
Love chocolate ice cream. Avoiding sugar, though. Anyone have a favorite pasta recipe they'd share? I'm trying to gain weight without raising my blood sugar. Been trying for months, and it just slowly goes the other way in spite of all my curves growing.

• I'd love to join!
• How far along/EDD? I am 4 weeks, 5 days, EDD is March 4, 2021. (Hi @callingthestork ! I hope we get to be pregnancy buddies on this journey. :) ) I conceived through a Donor Egg (DE) FET on June 16 with a 5 day blastocyst.
• How are you feeling this week? All of the feels! For the most part clam and slightly detached (this is my first pregnancy ever and it still doesn't feel real). At times excited and at other times scared and apprehensive over what the experience of being a parent will actually be.
• Rants/Raves? Questions? Not yet.
• Any upcoming appointments? Had my 3rd beta this morning. My numbers continue to look really good. I'll go back this Thursday for my 4th beta and if that looks good then we'll schedule my first ultrasound for next week.
• GTKY: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream (or cake if you're not an ice cream person)? Strawberry.
• @callingthestork Congrats on your pregnancy! All the wait during early pregnancy is tough! My clinic has a policy of only doing 1 beta unless the number is off. So I had to wait what felt like forever between the beta and the first ultrasound. If you are trying to gain weight without raising your blood sugar, I recommend eating a lot of protein and fat. I know that food affects people differently but pasta is sure to raise my blood sugar level (I have gestational diabetes). One thing my dietitian told me to do was to switch to a full fat version of foods I like. Whole milk instead of reduced fat milk, Haagendaz ice cream instead of lower calorie ice cream, etc. I’m in love with Icelandic yogurt for its high protein/low sugar content and Siggi’s whole-milk plain yogurt is my current fave.

• @laurelew Congrats to you, too! I felt the exact same way with my first pregnancy (I’m currently pregnant with my second). Heck, even when I gave birth to my son, it was surreal seeing him, just couldn’t believe that he was inside me and that I grew a human being!

• How far along/EDD? 30w0d
• How are you feeling this week? Out of shape and achy (basically same as last week)
• Rants/Raves? Questions? Rant - Had my OB appointment today. Apparently I need to go back on my diet and exercise like I was for the glucose test. Gained another 10 lbs since last appointment. She basically said at this rate I won't be able to deliver vaginally. I know I kind of fell off the wagon but didn't realize how much. It's just so hot and humid outside to walk, but I need to get back to doing something. And remove the junk food from the house.
• Any upcoming appointments? OB in 2 and 4 weeks and ultrasound in 6.
• GTKY: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream (or cake if you're not an ice cream person)? I lovvveeeee Rocky Road Ice Cream. But for whatever reason I'm not loving it as much while pregnant. The baby seems to lean towards regular plain old vanilla. :s I have 10 weeks left to train her. Lol.

@cashewchicken - keeping my fingers crossed that you don't have to go into the office past this week. I'm a few weeks behind you and I definitely don't feel like going in! But we're on lock down so I don't have to. I also don't like the chunky chocolate in my mint ice cream either!

@callingthestork - Congrats and welcome! Yeah, it sounds like your DH is just trying to protect himself. Sending positive thoughts your way.

@lauralew - Hi there! I've been keeping up with you on the Low AMH post. Glad you found your way over here. Congratulations!! This is my first baby/pregnancy too and I had all the same feelings you do! It gets easier with every milestone. But I still haven't completed my baby books because I'm afraid to jinx anything, even at 30 weeks. I"m going to force myself to do them next week!

• How far along/EDD? 20 weeks/ 11/17/20
• How are you feeling this week? Still pretty good! Occasional RLP, but no complaints.
• Rants/Raves? Questions? None for now.
• Any upcoming appointments? MFM 7/15
• GTKY: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream (or cake if you're not an ice cream person)? I like all of the ice cream! In the summer, I want mint chocolate chip. (I agree that it should be more mint and less chocolate @cashewchicken ) Other times, I want chocolate.
@callingthestork Congratulations! I was hot a lot at first. I would have night sweats too. It was not fun, but only lasted a few weeks for me. Hopefully it goes away quickly for you!

@lauralew Congratulations! This is my first pregnancy, and we also used a donor egg! It is super exciting to finally be pregnant. I had A LOT of anxiety at first, but it has definitely improved over time.

@31magnolia I’m having a really hard time motivating myself to exercise. The humidity is horrible this week.
• @lauralew, I'm excited to have you as a pregnancy buddy, thanks! I looked up the Carnegie embryo collection to see what my embryo would look like today, and I guess he or she is a long streak of cells with the neural groove getting deeper but not yet closing. Rather spread out and ungainly looking, nothing like the neat round blastocyst he was.

@cashewchicken, thanks for the welcome and advice. I do like plain Greek full-fat yogurt, though I hadn't heard of Icelandic. Could chow down on beef and eggs.

Thanks as well to @31magnolia and @vetgirl2011, it is so reassuring to have other pregnant people to connect with and feel comforted/supported, helps to calm my alternating excitement and anxiety.
Heat and humidity is so miserable, it must be so much harder when you're that far along. How do you even breathe?
• Thanks @cashewchicken@31magnolia and @vetgirl2011 ! I'm looking forward to following along on your journeys. The Bump has the most supportive IF community. :)

@callingthestork My sister just delivered her second child last Monday, Jun 22 after experiencing secondary infertility. I was asking her for pregnancy tracker app recommendations. She recommended What to Expect and Pregnancy+. Pregnancy+ will show you a picture of what your LO looks like each week. I showed my husband the week 4 picture and he was like, "What the he** is that? Never show me this again." Men. :D

• @callingthestork and @laurelew – Congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome to the board! :)

• How are you feeling this week? Can’t complaint, other than the regular heavy/uncomfortable/pressure of this stage, all is good.
• Rants/Raves? Questions? During the weekend I noticed my BP is a little higher, still within the normal range but definitely not what it used to be. Due to being AMA, I got a BP monitor and I was not measuring regularly or at the same time every day but now I am measuring 2x a day. I will bring it up during my OB appointment tomorrow.
• Any upcoming appointments? OB appointment on Thu. Got a call from the MFM to let me know he is out this week, so I will not see him until next week. They also said I will have a non-stress test and a physical, which I guess is a pre op for the c-section.
• GTKY: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream (or cake if you're not an ice cream person)? Chocolate or caramel.

• Welcome to the new faces! @laurelew @callingthestork and Congratulations! ❤️❤️❤️

How far along/EDD? 32+5

How are you feeling this week? Tired, SPD is still a not fun thing :s

Rants/Raves? Questions? I have a pretty good idea what the sex is now, based on a previous phone consult with a doctor, and the last two interactions with this one MW. So I'm kinda pissed. I don't know what I have to do to get my proper Team Green delivery room moment over here! :s :s :s And I mean, I could still be wrong, and it's not like I've SEEN the results, but it still just sucks knowing my provider knows, and has been kinda awkward about it. :/ Now I feel like I can't even talk names too much anymore because I don't want to give DH too much of an impression either way.

Any upcoming appointments? Just saw the MW yesterday, chiro again tomorrow. My next MW apt at 34w will be telemed, then the real fun begins with the GBS test at 36w, and a scan at 37w.

GTKY: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream (or cake if you're not an ice cream person)? I usually go for a good chocolate, possibly with something simple mixed in, bit I am also a sucker for a nice mint chip!

@angelina1919 you are getting so close!

@31magnolia I'm sorry for the weight concerns. I am right there at the top of the 15-25 lb range they say I'm "supposed" to gain, and I'm hoping desperately to just kind of hover here for a few more weeks ... What has helped me a lot is just DHs diet plan rubbing off on me (except the parts where I stop at the deli for my own personal haagen daas - Whoops!) Which is based more around whole foods and less heavily processed stuff. One of the first things he had to cut was anything with added sugar, or fake sugar, or any fruit juice (apart from a cranberry/lemon water type drink we've been mixing up) I think that alone was a huge step that helped me basically maintain and not gain too much these past four weeks, thank heavens! I feel like that was a good thing for me too, because it's not as if I'm depriving the baby of anything nutritionally, whatsoever. Kwim? Then he eliminated caffeine, gluten and corn. So I have mostly done that, with the exception of working through some of DDs snack crackers we still have on hand, and the odd tortilla. We had been eating A LOT of bread (which mostly all also has added sugar anyway) and been doing some pretty epic ice cream benders at home, so just cutting those two habits, substituting a shake in the morning with plain grass-fed whey and frozen fruit, and fewer carbs / more veggies at mealtimes have been helping me considerably. (((Hugs))) let us know how it goes in the coming days / weeks...

@vetgirl2011 - the humidity has been horrible! Not sure what I'm going to do because it's not going to get any better until October! Lol.

@BusinessWife - Thank for all the tips! I used to be so good about being gluten free a couple years ago, but now that my body seems to be able to tolerate it I've fallen off the wagon. Guess I need to get back on! And just like you noted, my sugar cravings have been crazy. I'm going to cut that out again and just have my single treat a day, like I did when going to prepare for the glucose test. But mostly just try to eat whole foods and no packaged stuff, which is hard because it's super convenient right now. Also, I don't blame you for being ticked if your doctor keeps dropping hints regarding the baby's gender!

Side note, I had a scare yesterday. Heart rate got to high and I got extremely light headed and could feel myself getting ready to black out. Luckily, I didn't, but now I notice that my HR will spike for no reason and I start getting a shortness of breath. It happened again last night while I was just sitting on the couch. I called the doctor today and she wants me to come in. So we'll see what she says.

• @31magnolia I hope it's nothing too serious and they can figure out what's going on!
• @wildrainbow - Thanks! The doctor wants me to see a cardiologist. So I've left messages to two doctors and will see who can see me first. Hopefully the wait is not too long (with me being a new patient).
How is mama and baby boy doing??
• @31magnolia Oh no! Hope you get seen by a cardiologist soon. Hoping it’s nothing serious. I don’t remember from the first pregnancy, but with this one I definitely experience more shortness of breadth and dizziness (that was a few weeks ago).

• @angelina1919 Thank you for the warm welcome! :)

@BusinessWife How frustrating that the doctor keeps dropping hints about the baby's gender. And what a burden that puts on your shoulders with trying to keep the secret from your DH so at least one of you is able to be completely surprised.

@31magnolia How scary. And of course we're approaching the holiday weekend, which makes it even harder to get in to see someone ASAP. It seems like that it how it always works out. I hope that someone is able to squeeze you in and that you can get some answers. Definitely keep us updated.

@Kimbrlyg814 Welcome! My EDD is also March 4. You're right on track with me and @callingthestork. I wonder if there will be a small baby boom in late February/early March 2021. Between all of the ladies who were able to start IF treatments again and those trying naturally it's shaping up to be a popular EDD. I have a friend from work who was trying naturally who also shares our March 4 EDD.

afm: I had my 4th beta this morning. My numbers keep rising right on target. I went from 1548 hcg on Tuesday to 3590 hcg today. They are bringing me back in on Monday morning for my first ultrasound. :)
• @Kimbrlyg814 Congratulations!! I know a lot of people have spotting with progesterone. I had spotting during my first trimester. It’s scary, but seems pretty common. Let us know how it goes on Monday!

@laurelew I can’t wait to here about your ultrasound!

@31magnolia I hope you can get in to a cardiologist quickly! That sounds so stressful.

@BusinessWife I’m so sorry that you keep getting hints about gender! I would be so upset!
• @laurelew thanks! So excited to be on the journey with you and @callingthestork ! Lots of prayers for your ultrasound! ❤️🙏🏻

@vetgirl2011 thanks girl! ❤️ My dr said the same thing when they responded. They just advised to rest and take it easy. I just get so nervous because my 2 previous MC started with spotting, but I wasn’t on progesterone then and my levels weren’t nearly as good so I’m feeling hopeful (most of the day at least 😉)
• @callingthestork I’m in the same boat as you lady! I want to be excited and celebrate the news with my husband but my husband talks about work and anything else right now. I’m sure it’s their way of being cautious and guarding their hearts. We will get through this and will all be able to celebrate before we know it!
• @Kimbrlyg814, so excited to have you here! And thanks. So you've also had two miscarriages? So sorry to hear that. Wonder if your doc would let you have additional progesterone? I'm on 1mg PIO plus Prometrium 3x a day orally plus crinone 2x a day--which is a lot. But every study seems to agree that the higher the progesterone, the higher the live birth rate.
31Magnolia, hoping you get good answers, and no more heart trouble. I'll keep both of you ladies in my prayers.
• @31magnolia I am good, still tired and sore. Going back and forth to the hospital takes a lot out me and I'm wiped by the time we get home. He is doing great, CPAP today with a peep of 4, he came off his bili lights today. I also have my third redhead! I can't believe it, lol

@callingthestork I’m on all those doses of progesterone too! The spotting still has me concerned though they believe it’s due to the Crinone. But I do feel much more hopeful this time around! Lots of prayers for your pregnancy!
• Hey everyone - thanks for the the positive thoughts and words. I was able to book a cardiologist to see me in a week and half and that's only because she had a cancellation. Everyone else was running a month out for new patients. So I guess I'll consider myself lucky! Anyway my heart rate last night and today is more normal. Not sure what happened the last two days. But I'm still getting checked to make sure everything is OK. Going by my fitbit, the highest it spiked was 132 and that was just me sitting doing nothing. OB wants me to eat something small every 60-90 minutes and keep hydrated until I can see the Cardio doctor.

@wildrainbow - Your little man looks so precious! It sounds like he's progressing well, so that's wonderful news. Sorry you have to go back and forth. I can imagine that's really hard. Please keep us posted.

@Kimbrlyg814 - Welcome and congrats!

• Thanks, ladies. ❤️ A part of me is wondering, like DH said, if the midwife isn't trying to Jedi mind trick me the opposite way, so it really WILL be a surprise, but I honestly think she's just speaking off the cuff and most people instinctively have no poker face, iykwim. :/ So in a way I am getting excited about picturing the siblings I think we will have, and I'm just grateful I haven't actually seen the results or had it confirmed either way.

@Kimbrlyg814 Welcome, and Congrats! I had spotting with my first, while on progesterone, on and off till I think it was 10 weeks! So it can be completely normal, but we have also lost three embryos, so I get the pgal brain is hard to shake. (((Hugs)))

@31magnolia How scary! I'm glad you were able to get in with the specialist pretty quickly. I feel like I get occasional palpitations that I've heard can be a pretty normal part of pregnancy, so hopefully it's just something benign like that.
• @BusinessWife thank you so much for the reassurance and sharing your experience ❤️
• Today is suddenly not going well. After a lunchtime nap, I had a pantyliner soaked with blood. Also passed a tiny bit of spongy tissue. No cramps, no warning. My RE's office is not answering the phone today, but I suppose all they can do is send me for blood draws to track the hCG level. Sigh. This bleeding thing is new to me. I've had a missed miscarriage and a chemical. Well.
• @callingthestork I know this all can be hard. Prayers for you! Please let us know what you doctor says ❤️❤️❤️
• edited July 2020
Thanks so much, Kimberly.

I got bloodwork done; my hCG is 9001, up from 971 a week ago. Progesterone is 48. My nurse said both numbers are good and she thinks this is a subchorionic hemorrhage rather than a miscarriage. She said she spends all of week 6 of people's pregnancies dealing with bleeds. I'm amazed that there's a chance that my pregnancy might continue. Nurse said to quit aspirin but stay on Lovenox, and repeat bloodwork on Wednesday.

Hope everyone else is having a less exciting day, take care.
• @callingthestork - sending you positive thoughts. (hugs)

• @callingthestork hoping it all continues to go well and your sweet baby will be ok! Send hugs your way!
• Thank you so much. You ladies are awesome. By the way Kimberly, did your spotting stop yet? Geez this messes with a person's mind.
• @callingthestork no it did not. My clinic doesn’t seem concerned at all even though it’s freaking me out. I’ll be a ball of nerves through this first trimester. They think it’s all because of the Crinone.

Hang in there! You’re stronger than you realize!
