I thiiiiiiink I'm going to wait... LOL. Which will be incredibly hard. For those that have transferred before, did you test at home before?

@ritadesign I test at home.  I'm too impatient to wait.  I start testing at day 6 which is early but if it didn't work, I want to know as soon as possible to prepare myself.

@laurad75 and @madasm0530 thanks for the tips, I have watched the nurse Linda videos before, I’ll watch again though and look at needle placement closer.

@ritadesign Congrats on the transfer! FX for you :) I always test early... can’t help it!

AFM - I’m 6dp5dt right now and getting BFN. I also spotted a bit yesterday and it’s heavier today with small clots. I called the clinic and waiting to hear back from the nurse. I think I’m out again this month but I’ll see what they say.

@ritadesign I have waited and tested at home. When I tested at home, I tested way too early (5dp5dt) but what do you do. thinking of you either way!

@sfield21 it's still early. You got this!

AFM, I am much more anxious for tomorrow's transfer than I thought I'd be. I've done it before and I know what to expect but I am feeling unprepared (when I totally am!).

Well the Dr wants me on bed rest until my beta on Tuesday. Not the answer I was expecting but oh well. Luckily my parents are around to help out with our 14 month old. Has anyone else experienced something similar... spotting while on progesterone? I’m on Crinone suppositories twice a day and PIO 1mL every 3 days. I thought they would either stop all meds or up my progesterone. They also said to be very careful with inserting Crinone.

Well, it looks like we will test early after all!  :D I was casually chatting with my husband about what all of you said and he responded with, "I always assumed we would test early!" I reckon Day 6 is a great place to start?

Also, I suck at the lingo most times, but what on earth does "6dp5dt" mean and how does one even know that? Hehe  :)

@sfield21 Glad that you have your parents around to help out with your 14 month old while you rest. Let me know if you need some TV shows to binge. ;)

@madasm0530 Thinking of you and sending lots of sticky baby dust to you today on your transfer!

@ritadesign I'm glad you and your husband are on the same page.  I test in secret and then I have to dispose of the tests like I'm hiding a dead body.  It's ridiculous.

6dp5dt is 6 days past 5 day transfer.  A few of us have been on the boards in various stages for a long time so the lingo is a 2nd language.  :)

@covergirl2985 i had a full on period when I stopped my BC. my RE said that i could spot, have a period or nothing would happen and each scenario is totally normal. still wouldn't hurt to give your clinic a call to make sure everything's okay.

AFM, transfer went great yesterday. it's always surreal to see the picture of the blastocyst  <3. My beta is 7/27 but ya'll know that I will not be waiting until then. With DS, I tested at 5dp6dt, this was a day 5 so maybe I'll wait until day 6. who knows!

I had to give myself the PIO shot this morning. I haven’t done it myself in a long time. I got it done but there was blood everywhere. I think I’m not pulling the needle out straight and out of practice. So gross. Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far.

    Thank you @lucyb1954!!

I was so stressed out yesterday because they didn't send my transfer timing/ instructions until 3:00 pm which meant it was too late to call the office and schedule pre/post acupuncture.  I was sobbing when the nurse emailed me to just call this morning - I like to plan.  Thankfully I spoke to the office this morning and it's no problem for me to come in an hour before for the treatment so I'm feeling much better now.  Also, since I don't have to be there until 10:45 I was able to go on a nice long walk this morning.  I'm feeling good.

@madasm0530 How are you feeling? Have you tested at home yet?

I finally tested at home this morning, which would be Day 7 for me. I meant to test Day 5 or Day 6, but I've just been too lazy to go out in this heat wave (it's ridiculously hot here)! But I finally bought a test yesterday and I got a BFP! I'm in a state of disbelief, I think, haha. My first beta is this Friday.

    Congratulations @ritadesign!

I'm home and officially PUPO.  The original embryo they planned to transfer did not survive the thaw but we had a back up.  Beta is Thursday 7/ 30 but I will likely test early.  I have never been able to wait until the blood test.

Frustrated 😖 my lining was at 6.6 today. They moved my FET out 2 days to Thursday 7/30 and have another lining check Friday.
I have the smallest amount of Estradiol Valerate left, I’ve needed it in the past to help get my lining better. Should I just use it up tonight? There’s probably 1/3 of a cc left.

@covergirl2985 That's so frustrating.  I often struggle with thin lining and more often than my transfers get moved back.  I don't know anything about estradiol valerate - I use tablets and patches but that may be a question for your nurse.  If its helped before maybe they can get you a new prescription.  Sometimes you have to be patient with getting your lining up.  It sucks.

My acupuncturist suggested I try femoral massage 2-3 x a day leading up to my FET to help with blood flow and thickening my lining.  Here is a link to how to do it: link
I did it twice a day leading up to my latest FET and my lining was 8.4 which was a miracle for me.

@covergirl2985 no update here except that I’m going insane. I’ve been testing with cheap tests getting negative after negative but also imagining symptoms. I’ll be devastated if this doesn’t work and I’m starting to feel like this isn’t going to work.

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind if I jump in here, it's been a while.
We have a fresh embryo transfer scheduled for this Wednesday, July 29th
We had 6 frozen eggs from a mini-IVF cycle in 2017. We ICSI'd all of them on friday, 3 fertilized and today we found out we have two 5-cell grade 1, and one 5-cell grade 3 embryos. I wish I knew what this meant for our odds, does anyone have similar embryos to this at day 3?
Since we've had two failed FETs in the last year, we are debating transferring two this time, but it will depend on how they look at day 5.
Thanks for letting me join back in, I'm feeling a little discouraged because of our previous failed FETs and only getting 3 embryos from the 6 eggs we had. I'm having a hard time being hopeful right now.

@ReesaAnne16 Hi!  It's good to see you here.  I don't have any insight into the embryo quality but I will tell you that from my experience, grading does not equal results.  In Nov we transferred a 4AA embryo resulting in pregnancy but MC due to a chromosome abnormality, we transferred another 4AA in April - BFN and the last 4AA did not survive the thaw for its cycle.  Beta is Thursday for a 4BA and I'm not feeling particularly hopeful.  It's so hard.  Good luck on Wednesday!!

Unfortunately, my FRER was negative this morning at 8dp5dt.  It's so disappointing but at least I know for sure.  I'll keep taking meds until after beta confirms on Thursday but I called my doctor's office to schedule a follow up and was able to schedule a call for this Friday so at least I can get moving toward another cycle as soon as possible.

Hi ladies! I know I’ve been quiet and owe y’all an update. My early testing at home has proven accurate - I AM pregnant and coming in strong with my HCG levels. So, I know that I am acting really crazy this cycle so please forgive me but there is no one else I can turn to with this particular brand of crazy.  As I posted earlier I took a FRER digital this morning and it was negative.  As I cried through my acupuncture appointment it occurred to me that the digital only says yes or no, so being at only 8dp5dt if the hCG wasn't high enough its going to say no.  I'm now really annoyed that I bought a digital and not a line test.  Anyway... I decided to test again with a cheapy and I swear there is a faint line.  I've seen nothing but total white the past few days and this one looks different.  Thursday can't come soon enough.

@laurad75 that is soooo promising! i 10000% get the crazy - nobody really understands! and I hate the yes/no, pregnant/not pregnant tests -- you were probably too early for the HCG to register. will you test again tomorrow morning with a line test?  <3

Hi all! New here but so glad I found this site! I had my first FET on 7/20 and currently in the dreaded TWW. My BETA is scheduled for Monday 8/3. I couldn't bare it anymore and took one of those cheap strips yesterday afternoon (not first morning urine) and not surprisingly, it was negative. I know there are a lot of reasons for this, and I could still get a positive in a few days but I am going crazy...

My main question is, what counts as "an IVF cycle." At the beginning of IVF my RE gave me good odds for success within 3 cycles but its not clear to me what they mean by "cycle." Is each FET a "cycle" or does that mean a full cycle of retrieval + up to as many transfers as we have frozen blasts?

Also, during this whole process it was also determined that I have a unicornate uterus - basically a congenital anomaly where my uterus didn't grow on one side and doesn't connect to my ovary. It seems to put me at risk for complications if (WHEN) I do get pregnant. I will need to see a maternal fetal medicine specialist. Anyone else on here have this as well? I know its really rare but I would love to connect to with anyone in the same boat!!

@madasm0530 Congratulations! That is a great first beta. Looking forward to hearing an update from you for today. <3 (Also, random, but I just love your icon pic haha).

@laurad75 My fingers are still crossed for you! And I also hate the pregnant/not pregnant or yes/no tests.

@ReesaAnne16 Good luck today with your transfer!

And welcome @knottie5d8c8020af03ff12!  I completely understand not being able to wait (in fact, this whole board does, haha)! I would try again tomorrow with your first morning urine! <3 As for your question, my understanding is that an IVF cycle is everything, from start to finish. So that would be your stims, egg retrieval, and transfer. However, everyone is different, and some will complete multiple rounds of stims/egg retrieval prior to an FET. For me, I have 12 (now 11) embryos from my first egg retrieval and I just did my first transfer. I consider all of that Cycle 1. If/When I transfer again, we'll pick the best embryo of the 11 remaining, and I will consider that FET Cycle 2. Does that make sense? I'd be curious to hear what others think, though!

AFM - I believe I mentioned this already, but my third beta is tomorrow AM. Even with two good betas I'm finding it hard to stay positive. Not only is it a nerve-wracking process, but after our loss a few months back, I just find myself on edge. I feel silly typing this out, but here's one example as to why: I have been peeing frequently and unable to sleep through a single night without getting up multiple times to use the bathroom. But the past two nights? Nothing. Slept straight through. It could be a number of reasons! Maybe I'm too exhausted or not drinking enough fluids, yet my mind latches onto negative thoughts instead. :( I feel crazy... but just sharing it helps a little.
