Welp, still zero idea about what if anything may be going on for a shower / sprinkle. So either it's NOTHING or sil is doing an even better job of surprising me this time lol<div> <div>Anyway, I am tickled because I found some cute little decorations - nothing too elaborate, but paper plates / napkins, cupcake toppers, a bit of garland and a fingerprint guestbook-art thing that looked nice. That way if we pick an official day / weekend to let people drop over by the house and meet the baby, it at least looks a little festive. :) I'll wait till we get a little closer tho to see how it may all be going down... But I'm not planning on having too many hospital visitors still, if at all.
Anyone else nesting or have any other fun prep things going on?</div></div>
I feel like I’ve been nesting for about 5 months now lol it’s a never ending thing for me, I don’t know when it’ll stop! I’ve even moved it to outside to the deck and garden.
I’m pruning bushes?! Like, who am I?!
I put my tropical plants outside. We planted a few different types of tomatoes and peppers I’m excited for! A friend made and gifted us a cute hanging flower pot that was made out of an old propane tank cleaned up and powder coated a pretty sparkly blue! Strawberries tend to grow great in shallow pots so I think that’s what I’ll use the hanging pot for!
I’ve given up on any sort of shower thoughts . I bit the bullet and just starting mass ordering little final things I’ll need for babes arrival and postpartum items. MH cousins talked about an online shower this month but I’m not counting on it, my anxiety can’t deal with the unknown/uncertainty lol. We’ll have a sip and see later I’m sure.
Salons have opened up so I booked an early morning appt for next month for a freshen up. I also have an appt with my massage therapist in a couple weeks, I cannot wait. My right hip is so out of whack it almost makes my leg give out if I apply too much pressure on it. Commence the waddle.
Oh I'm so glad to hear you were able to get those self care apts booked! @charhar0820 That's so important. ❤️ SIL added to give me a trim before too long, but I am still just waiting till I can finally get a PEDICURE!!! I was able to reach my toes today, so I did what I could while I still can, but if man, what I wouldn't give for the real deal, with the jets and massage and everything... Sigh
I was going to do a garden and then day the after I got all my starters in the ground we had a horrible storm and 80 mile an hour destroyed everything and the yard was flooded so I gave up on that idea. But nothing tastes better than homegrown tomatoes!! My mom decided to plan for a shower in July so I'm trying to think of creative ways to have food that also don't require people to all have to use the same spoon for scooping or use their hands. I figure we could do individual cups for fruits or veggies with hummus. Any other ideas out there?
@BusinessWife@charhar0820 Pedicure? What was that again...LOL My feet are looking tragic, but I am not there yet that I feel comfortable to visit a nail salon. But I actually booked a hair appointment. My salon has like a hundred and two safety standards in place, my hair is out of control and we have a maternity shoot next Saturday. I can't push it back any longer. I also have an appointment for a massage next week - I am so excited. That being said I am playing with the thought to also schedule a chiropractor appointment. My hip is bothering me and its getting worse. It would be so nice to get some relief there.
@strawberryfields82 Oh that sounds so nice!! My salon has a zillion protocols as well, they’ve completely changed the salon! I love doing my nails, I’ve never been one to go to a nail salon to get them done. I find doing it myself is therapeutic but I can’t comfortably do my toes at this point. MH loves going for pedicures lol if and when I do book an appointment, it’ll be at a spa. I know they will have high standards and protocols in place so I would trust to go there. You’re so lucky to have a maternity shoot, how exciting! I was thinking of making a friend or my sister take some photos for us lol
I started unboxing some parcels that have arrived and there is so much! 😅 I’m so excited! More washing and organizing! Yay! 😂 I did manage to put in an order for myself from Thyme maternity, they’re closing all stores and online so us Canadian women are Really going to struggle with finding mat clothes. I scored some mom jeans and quite a few pair of postpartum undies. I was pleasantly surprised when I found they included a surprise gift pack of baby stuff! Pack of NB diapers and wipes, a bottle, lots of coupons and even a cute pair of 0-3 baby pants! Out of all the stuff I got the freebie pack excited me most lol 😂
@charhar0820@strawberryfields82 add me to the list of people excited to start booking some appointments! I finally saw my chiropractor yesterday, will go back to see her next week, saw my pelvic floor physio two days ago, and I’m currently in the process of booking a prenatal massage woth a masseuse in the same clinic as my PF physiotherapist. They are so careful, they spray your hands with sanitizer when you walk in, take your temp, you have to wear a mask, it smells super clean... I feel pretty comfortable with it and am so excited to get some self care and relief from my SI joint pain! Haven’t booked a pedicure yet but I’m so excited to soon.... I’m finally getting in for a bikini wax this weekend which is much needed I also need to rebook my root touch up and hair cut appointment soon too. I might actually start to feel human again sometime soon!!
Well after reading this I have the urge to prep more! @BusinessWife great idea with the decorations! I am thinking of transitioning DS to a toddler bed this weekend so I don't gave to lift him in and out of the crib after my c- section. I also need to rearrange the carseats and see if 3 fit in my car
Oh! GL with the bed transition @wife-and-mommy we switched DD over not too long ago and it's been great! Although I do still carry her around allllll the time lol which carseats / vehicle do you have? So far we have a keyfit 30 and a maxicosi 70/85 (I have to look at which now lol) but I'll have to be extra mindful of that if we are ever lucky enough to have a 3rd! 😬 I know they are each supposed to fit 3 across in their own, but of course unless it's triplets you wouldn't necessarily have them all in the same seat.at once...
@BusinessWife we have a variety of carseats for my car and DH's so hopefully something fits. We do have to order one more so we will try to chose something slim. I have an equinox
