Weekly Symptoms - Week of 6/8

How's everyone feeling? Like.....this? :joy:

Re: Weekly Symptoms - Week of 6/8

  • Is anyone else super itchy? Like my entire torso front and back is itchy all the time. I’m not sure if it’s sweat, dust, pool water or just dryness but even after a serious scrub in the shower and lotion afterwards, I’m still dying an hour later. I’m definitely going to bring it up at my appointment next week but currently It’s adding an extra layer of misery to the perpetual nausea and exhaustion

  • @marikkita12 Well the other night one of my boobs was super super itchy (just one?!). I used coconut oil and it helped. Maybe if you got one of those extra-strength lotions for people with eczema? I imagine those would be good even for really bad itching if you don't have eczema.

    I could sleep all day long. I mean I don’t, I can’t even nap, but I wish I could!
  • Nausea for days, y’all. Dinners have been very uninspired lately because I can’t really think about food. There’s definitely a niche market out there for a “what to cook when you can’t touch or eat food” cookbook.
  • @marikkita12 I’ve never had that, but pregnancy aside I suffer from chronic hives so I feel terribly for you that you’re so itchy.
  • All the nausea, both food + smell aversions and general lack of appetite. All I want most days are simple carbs and fruit. Probably not the best for the ol’ glycemic index, but at least I’m eating? 🤷🏻‍♀️
  • Sore boobs, bloated, food aversions (no real nausea, except occasionally in the morning). Still can't drink coffee or eat eggs in the morning. Also tired, but I've been taking siestas in the afternoon while my daughter naps if work is slow.

Also, over the weekend I felt what I thought was lightning crotch (there must be a better name), but isn't it WAY too early for that? Or maybe it was round ligament pain, but isn't it also too early for that? Anyway, it only happened once. Also feeling random twinges/pulling, which I know is normal.

@supersara2 I’ve had those kind of shooting pains too and have assumed it’s round ligament pain. I think it’s normal!
  • Mood swings. Tired. Sore breasts. And still some nausea. I keep reminding myself that I only have a few weeks left til the 2nd trimester and hopefully things will be better.
  • I’m just having a lot of nausea and food aversions. The RLP is starting already. I’m super tired but I don’t know if it’s pregnancy, progesterone, or the fact that my 1 year old wakes me up a million times a night.
  • @carleym93 yes the RLP was unreal and so
    painful for me today.

All day nausea and still getting sick even on zofran. I think the taste of it tends to make me feel sick honestly.

Question for those of you with pregnancy rhinitis what is helping? I use breathe right strips at night but I’m struggling during the day. Especially when out and wearing my mask.

@stillcozy I think I have pregnancy rhinitis and it’s awful. I couldn’t sleep at all the other night. Since then I’ve tried doing a lot of saline sprays and blowing my nose a lot :/ I also sleep at an incline. I think someone suggested the Neti pot, I’m going to try that next if mine continues to get worse.
  • I just spent all day making homemade ravioli. Sat down to eat it, took one bite ... NOOOOOPE.

  • @missmcgonnagal ugh!  I’m sorry. Nausea and food aversions are the worst. Homemade ravioli sounds amazing to me.

@aels12 try breathe right strips at night it helps open the nasal passages and definitely give me relief far more than sprays at night.

@missmcgonnagal oh no! That is awful hope you were able to have some today

  • Sorry I have been very MIA. This first trimester has been a doozy. So extremely nauseous. Dizziness. I get vertigo looking at my phone! DS was sick all last week and now I think my back is broken from holding him so much. Phew it’s been brutal.

@missmcgonnagal oh I hear you on this! I’m a big time cook and I’ve stopped cooking bc this happens to me every time. Even feeding my son makes me feel sick
  • Guys a new symptom emerged that I haven’t seen in any of my 3 previous pregnancies... I have popped several blood vessels in both eyes! 😫 My dr said its due to increased blood volume. Waaaah! It looks awful
  • @marikkita12 I was sooooo itchy yesterday and today- everywhere all day. I've never had that before and it is so weird and terrible.

@stillcozy the taste of zofran makes me so so nauseous. And it lingers forever. It's making life livable so I can't complain too much but ughhh
  • @carleym93 Oh no!! Good grief. Do those go away after a few days??
  • @carleym93 just when you thought there’d be no more surprises! I hope they clear up quickly!
  • @whitealbum29 Yes! They look much better now, thankfully.
  • @carleym93 is that from getting sick or did they just do it on their own? So glad they are getting better.

The pregnancy induced migraines are back this pregnancy. So I’m not loving that. Worst part is not having any real good option to help. I can feel one starting again and just hoping extra hydration will keep it manageable until I’m done working at 8pm tonight.

  • @stillcozy They did that on their own 😳 But she did say she sees them a lot in women who are vomiting.
  • New symptom over here- headaches every evening until I go to bed. @stillcozy Maybe I need to try extra hydration too...
  • Still VERY moody
  • Think maternal instincts are kicking in. More worried than ever when DH is biking on busy road, across bridges, etc. Or visiting friends/places he might pick up covid. Also, my dog has become more cute than ever in my eyes. I can't walk past him without the inclination to cuddle.

Knock on wood, but I haven't had headaches yet. I feel for all of you who have them. And for those of you who still have nausea. That was the worst, but it seems to be gone for me now (11w3d).

stillcozy I had pregnancy rhinitis (or allergies I've never had before). Seems to have mostly dissipated. But it was really bad for a while. I tried the breathe strips for a few days, but they just irritated me more. The best thing was sleeping with my head propped up against pillows, so I was half sitting up.
@the_road_to_oz I think recommended infant saline spray, but I never got around to trying it.
Oddly enough, when I told my doctor, she recommended to take Claritin in the morning and Benadryl at night. She's a bit drug crazy. She also recommended prescribing me antibiotics to take every time I had sex to prevent UTIs. I'm finding a new Dr.
  • I don't know if it's too early for relaxin to kick in but wondering if that's behind this knee pain I've had. I guess it's more a pelvic girdle thing but just read that it can also affect knees? I've been sitting a lot on the floor, cross-legged to do work and I don't know if I overstretched it or something. It was killing me last weekend but has gradually gotten a bit better this week, I'm taking a break from exercising and am sitting in a chair now.
@lavenderclouds OMG that doctor sounds verrrry drug-crazy!
