I started knitting baby clothes. I love how they're small, so I have been able to finish projects faster. I'll eventually get around to posting some pictures. I'm currently knitting a baby hoodie, but I really don't like the yarn that I'm using. I might move onto a new project.
I still mostly just do diamond paintings. Just finished one a few days ago...
Current pregnancy - First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.
I made banana bread for the first time today! It's super easy and it let's you substitute whatever ingredients you want. I added maple syrup instead of sugar, half whole wheat flour and half regular, olive oil instead of butter... Best of all, it's delicious!
I have a friend’s bridal shower in July (I’m a bridesmaid), and since at my shower last year she was so thoughtful and ordered me some personalized gifts I thought I’d do the same! I ended up ordering a leather duffel that is embroidered with her new monogram since I don’t have an embroidery machine, but I did design a couple of things for her myself with vinyl! I got the beach towel and travel mug at Target on sale with order pickup!
I posted about this the other day in the randoms thread, but since this is the making thread I thought I’d post them here! I wanted letters for above our crib from Etsy but they were outrageously priced when I made the exact same thing on my own for less than half the price, thanks to @baseballismyfavoriteseason suggestion! I went to Michaels to get the letters and mod podge yesterday, and the classic Pooh scrapbook paper came today from Amazon! It was soooo easy, and barely took any time!
They're still curing on the counter, but here they are!! Totally not perfect, but made with love for my baby boy. 💙 and you all get first views of our boy’s name lol.
@mamahosch it's perfect! I've been thinking about doing something similar since you guys were talking about it before. You might have just made the decision for me!
@peanutorcookie thank you!! There are a couple of wrinkles but probably won’t be able to tell when they’re on the wall! You should totally do it - it’s so easy! I just watched a YouTube video to make sure I didn’t miss any steps!
@mckjacks that’s awesome! I’ve never seen it spelled with a w in it!
@mamahosch What size letters did you get? I have been considering doing something like the photo below for big brother, but I haven’t gotten around to it in the past year and a half. Now I’m feeling inspired by your work! But with Covid cases on the rise I’m not eager to go browsing at a store just yet...
@baseballismyfavoriteseason they are 9 inch letters. I love those baseball ones! Making me really miss the MLB right now 😣 you could always do order pickup, if you have a craft store that is doing that right now!
@mamahosch Don’t even get me started on how much I miss baseball. 😭 I am planning to do a pick-up order, it’s just harder for me to pick a size without seeing them in person. I almost ordered some 12” letters from JoAnn’s but there was no J, which is the first letter of his name. 🤪 I always forget about Michael’s so I’ll have to check them out...
This is the style of name banner I making for DS. He’s never really had his own room so I haven’t quite finished it, but now that we are finally cleaning out the spare bedroom and moving our bed in there the kids will have a real room! I’m planning to finish his and make one for the baby. Since we aren’t finding out the sex I’ll wait to make it until the baby is born to make it.
I did the letters for the nursery yesterday. We haven't told anyone the first name yet, so I'll just post this--these are the different papers I used for each letter.
@mckjacks I adore the fabrics in your quilts and I kind of want to steal them!!! The chickens and fruit and flowers are perfect 😍
I have been dying to start a quilt but I just can't order fabric online and my local quilt shop has only re-opened for now Thurs-Sat 10am-3pm which always falls during work hours for me. I have been so sad about it, but spending most free time now trying to get my nursery mural finished, I will have to post pics soon!!! I went with a whimsical woodland theme based off an expensive wallpaper I liked from etsy. Couldn't convince myself to spend $150+ on wallpaper!
@ginevere thank you!! I had to buy it off the internet because I couldn’t wait any longer for fabric stores to open up. I’m obsessed with the chicken and lemon pieces 😍
I used to bake a fresh batch of cookies every weekend. Definitely haven’t since I got pregnant. So made these today for my resident cookie eater. Basic sugar cookies with sanding sugar and m&m’s. Super kid friendly normally my DD likes to put the sugar on them.
