I have been feeling so exhausted lately! I'm not sure if it's third trimester symptoms this early, the heat, or having two little ones and a part time job, but I'm in bed so early every night now!
Lol Finally, today I managed to close my eyes for a little while during DDs nap. Of course I woke up thinking I heard her crying, when she was still totally asleep. But anyway, I told DH over dinner, I like to call 3rd tri, "The Napping Trimester." I'm planning to hold myself to it!
Naps are the greatest! MH doesn't understand how it's possible for me to nap so much, then I replay the audio of him snoring back to him and remind him that growing a tiny human takes lots of energy. He typically shrugs and walks away after that lol.
Yeah this third trimester fatigue/exhaustion is really hitting me hard these last few days. On top of my MOTN bathroom trips & MH’s wild sleeping noises disturbing me (I’ve caved and started wearing earplugs & I also use my pregnancy pillow as a barrier 😅) This morning after making breakfast, packing MH lunch and sending him off to work. I laid down for a 20 min power nap, anything more and it adds to my already restless night sleep. Hunger for second breakfast woke me lol.
@charhar0820 I need to get earplugs. Right now I put a pillow over my head so I can’t hear. Sometimes he’s not even snoring, it’s just breathing and once I wake up I can’t fall asleep with even slightly loud breathing!
@fitandnerdy I tried the pillow over my head too but it wasn’t cutting it. Heck, I even tried putting a pillow over mh head lol 😂 the earplugs have been a lifesaver. I just use one in one ear, as I’m usually on my side so I keep the one I’m laying on open.
@charhar0820 I can’t imagine trying to fall asleep with a pillow over my head, hahaha. I guess I’m lucky my husband only snores when he’s on his back, I just poke him and tell him to roll over and he doesn’t even remember it in the morning. 😆
@viola_mama I've discovered if my husband is snoring if I can get him to reposition, or cool him down (sometimes it happens when he's overheating himself) that I can get the snoring to stop mostly. One night while he was asleep I told him I'd give him a dollar if he stopped snoring and that worked for some reason. Another night I poked him and asked him to roll over because he was snoring and he swore to me he wasn't asleep, and he wasn't snoring because he wasn't asleep. He never remembers any of it happening. He was deff asleep though. I swear I don't remember him snoring when we were young and in our 20s... I miss those sleeps lol.
@charhar0820 I somewhat enjoyed making DHs lunches for him before DD was born. Now for some reason, I have to really work hard not to think it's utterly ridiculous lol and kind of resent that I have to get up early (while growing a tiny human) just to fill a grown man's cooler for him. Which he's perfectly capable of doing himself. 🙄🙄🙄 Deep breaths. I know, that probably makes me a terrible wife lol.
But power naps are key! Most mornings when we both get up, she does too. 🤦 But DD was up from 3-5AM the other night, so I just stayed up and did his cooler, then crashed again for a couple hours till she woke up again for the day. Thankfully she slept in a bit, too. But I think I'm still dragging... Ughhh
Idk where the ask a STM thread went, but the board is pretty slow so hopefully this is okay here. What are the best tests for amniotic fluid testing? I went in at 36 weeks last pregnancy and I already feel leaking (I'm 99.9% sure it's pee). I'd like to be able to periodically check myself for a small leak if anyone knows a reliable, sensitive test.
I actually started packing my husband's lunch after I had a baby. I refused before, but now I am already packing a lunch for myself and my son, so I just do all of us. It's the only way that I can ensure that he eats leftovers and doesn't buy fast food. Also it's one way to sneak vegetables in his diet. Haha
DD keeps crawling back and forth underneath the bench between the legs, and it's very silly and cute! she's even looking at me and giving me these great big smiles, but it's tough to capture because there's a lag with the camera on the phone. :/. I know she won't be able to fit under there forever! Moments like this make me really wish I had a DSLR.
@BusinessWife I got a DSLR about two years ago. And while I don't use it that much, the times I use it, makes such difference. It is something on the top of my list for my hospital bag. Can't wait to use it more when the little one is going to be here.
Me getting dressed this morning to go on a walk: Black leggings, black t-shirt that's starting to run out of stretch space for the belly, soaking wet hair because I just showered, silly cat printed shoes.
My DD getting dressed to go on the same walk: Ankle length butterfly dress, sparkly light up shoes, hair pulled back in a pony tail with a big rainbow printed bow.
We were out walking, and we passed a woman with a dog, he appeared to be the goodest of boys and DD was clearly enamored with him. The lady said he was friendly and good with kids and offered for DD to give him a pet, and DD accepted. She let his leash go out as far as it could so we could all maintain a safe distance. She complimented DD's dress and looked at me and told me to hang in there. I want to be offended but honestly it was just this moment where I realized that I looked pretty damn pregnant, and I was running that stereotype of the perfectly dressed and groomed kid while I the mom was a mess.
Oh! @RedBaramid hang in there! Lol So, so true. You can't even be mad at it! sounds like at least DD pulled herself together enough for the both of you 😊. and I'm right there with you for sure, when pulling yourself together means putting on black yoga pants and a black tank top, or today (not that I've showered yet), but I've got solid Navy maternity pants and a blue tank top on, feeling not like a total slob! Lmao solidarity.

@BusinessWife I don't think I have mentioned it yet. I am super far away from being a pro but it already makes the world of a difference knowing when to use what settings. I have a Nikon D3300 I believe.
@riatortillaxo I can relate to that. My husband came home this afternoon and apparently I looked completely wild with my hair all over the place after taking a nap and my shirt with tomato sauce stains. 🤣🤣🤣
Sad day yesterday. A fawn had an encounter with a vehicle right in front of our house. Not sure exactly what happened, but when I let the little dog out to pee, he was barking, so I checked it out, And sure enough she was sitting curled up in our front yard. Which is really just a strip, right on top of the road. So I brought the dog in and got my phone, but as I'm grabbing it, I realise there's probably something wrong and I might not want to take a picture, as much as call someone.
So it was obviously injured - I'll spare you the details - and after several phone calls I found someone who could pick her up and transport her to a nearby rescue. Unfortunately her injury was bad enough she didn't make it, but it really just sucks. Very sad thing to see, and to feel so helpless, and to wonder about the driver - because they must have known something happened; the neighbor said it wasn't a loud accident, but he heard something happen. Sigh.
And of course DD has the woodland all over her room and I'm just like 😭😭😭
@BusinessWife Oh no, I hate to see animals suffer. I can relate and it would have weighed heavy on my heart as well. Awesome for calling around for a rescue!
Well, most of them. I would probably have a celebration dance seeing a dead snake at the side of the road. They are the stuff my nightmares are made out of.
