Rant/rave? My uterus is just sore... and I'm eating all the food... I ate half a mini watermelon yesterday with a spoon and then still wanted more food. On the bright side my husband is amazing and is putting up with all my grumpy moments and needs for extra snuggles.
Questions? Best ways to deal with growing uterus soreness? My pelvis and uterus are just achy.
GTKY: Tell us about the town you grew up in. So we moved a lot when I was a kid, so I had 2 home towns, a suburb of Syracuse NY and a small town in WI. My best memories are from NY, where we use to get together with neighbor kids, ride bikes to the library or the ice cream shop, stop at the duck pond. Wisconsin we lived walking distance to a large lake with beaches and boats. Large farms just outside of town and bring your tractor to school day. There was a cow in my high school and a cat. We use to watch ice carving competitions and went to the finals of snowmobiling racing every year.
Rant/rave? Rave-ish: After months and months of vomiting and bathroom issues, stubborn boy-person FINALLY agreed to see a doctor. He has an endoscopy tomorrow so hopefully he can finally start getting some answers and a treatment plan. Rant: <20% of staff at work consistently wearing masks. When I say something I get crazy pushback or total ignoring. I've been escalating it by one step up the chain of command every week. This week is going to be the warden, which starts putting me in potential danger/retaliation territory, but I really don't know what else to do.
Questions? None that I haven't asked elsewhere.
GTKY: Tell us about the town you grew up in. Mostly Greensboro, NC. Mid-size city and very green in accordance with its name. I love it and both my parents and brother still live there. If I could do what I do there at a comparable payrate to what I make out here in California, I'd move back in a heartbeat.

Rant/rave? I built two planter boxes with my dad today. I’m so excited to get our summer garden going!!!
Questions? None right now
GTKY: Tell us about the town you grew up in. I grew up in a small suburb of a beach town in Southern California. I don’t want to say the name because I still live in the area, and this isn’t private. It was quite small, we only had an elementary school, and had to go to the bigger city for middle school and high school. The main problem with that is the weather was vastly different, so it was hard to plan your outfit for the day.
@aefsparrow My dad’s mom, and my mom both grew up in Wisconsin. My brother was also born there. So I have been there a few times. I really want to visit in the fall sometime. Also my boyfriend’s family has lived in New Mexico since before it was a state. I love going to visit his extended family there. They are mainly in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
@animalandplantrescuer that's awesome! I grew up on the far side of Lake Geneva Wi, and we're in Abq, NM. Wisconsin in the fall is GOREGOUS! But be sure to go like late September/early October. My birthday was at the end of October and in snowed for the first time of the year on my birthday SO many times lol
Upcoming appointments? I go to the hospital weekly for my progesterone shots. I have an ultrasound every 2 weeks to check baby and my cervix in addition to my regular OB appointments.
Rant/rave? Tired of battling constipation regularly 😩.
Questions? No
GTKY: Tell us about the town you grew up in. I grew up in the mid west. Lots of corn and cows! On Friday and Saturday nights we’d go roller skating at the local skating rink. Man those were some awesome preteen and teenage memories. Flirting with boys and skating to our favorite music!
GTKY: Tell us about the town you grew up in. I grew up in a city by the Mediterranean Sea, my school was just about 2 blocks from the beach so we would go after school sometimes (past 10th grade or so). Weather is quite similar to Southern California from what I've heard. I miss living there every single day! Awesome teenage years with friends and long summers staying up all night chatting and having ice creams.
@aefsparrow My mom grew up about an hour from you, and my grandma grew up on the peninsula above Green Bay. I’m going to write something a little more personal to your inbox.
Upcoming appointments? Virtual appt with birthing center on 6/1, still need to schedule the AS which I will have done at the local hospital and then in person appt beginning of July
Rant/rave? Rave: we went camping over the weekend and it was so nice to spend so much time outside without any internet. We hiked 10 miles on Sunday and 5 on Monday and my 15 month old son loved it. He also slept great! I was anxious that he wouldn’t sleep well since we haven’t been camping since we did sleep training and he stated sleeping by himself in the room. I was worried he would see us in the tent and want to get out of his pack n play, but he only woke up a couple times and easily fell back asleep! We also only saw 4 people while we were hiking and had an awesome, secluded campsite. DH is crazy and he got our minivan out a narrow, rocky dirt road without any problems.
Questions? STM+ what are your plans for your older child(ren) when you have the baby? My in-laws live in town so we plan to have them watch our son, but with COVID we haven’t been spending as much time with them and they have only watched him overnight 1x when he was 8 months old. I’m sure it won’t be an issue and I’m thinking of having them watch him overnight a couple times starting in August so they can get used to it and he can adjust.
GTKY: Tell us about the town you grew up in. I grew up in rural Washington state very close to the Idaho border. The population was around 25,000 when I was growing up. It is a college town. I loved being able to spend my summer days exploring without any real supervision. My dad would drop my sister and me off at the local pool everyday during the summer and we would swim and hangout with our friends all afternoon. Once I got to HS I stated to hate the town. We grew up pretty poor and I didn’t have many friends in HS so I always wished I could move. It’s funny because the town I live in now is very similar to where I grew up except there isn’t a major college here.
@westslopemama my husbands brother and family will be watching my DD when I go into labor. Otherwise after that she’ll be home with us as normal. We don’t have anyone that can come stay with us after baby arrives. It was the same way when DD was born. We didn’t get any help from family members then either.
Upcoming appointments? June 3 for baby's anatomy scan
Rant/rave? Rave this time! Finally have an ETA for the city lifting the boil water advisory that I've I've been living under for a month. Still 5 weeks off, but that's miles better than what the city was saying before (September!!). And work is looking way less stressful for the foreseeable future, and very stable. Good news all around
Questions?
GTKY: Tell us about the town you grew up in. I grew up in a small town of about 5000 people in rural Ontario, not much in any direction but cows and cornfields. Honestly I didn't love the place (probably more so the kids in my town, I wasn't exactly one of the cool kids and they were good enough to let me know it), but I definitely miss aspects of it now that I live 4000km away.
