How far along are you? 19 weeks (halfway to full term for a twin pregnancy!!)

Due date? 10/10 (10/13? Idk they change which one they use at each appointment 😂)

Upcoming appointments? Anatomy scan next week

    Rant/rave?
Rave: found out the sex of the babies last week and bought paint for our nursery!
Rant: sleep is still pretty rough for me

    Questions? None

GTKY: What is your current career? If you had to choose a new one and had no limitations, what would you do?
Currently, I’m a student because my career wasn’t working out for me. I am a statistician by training, but had hoped to have a career that was more aligned with melding statistics and helping people and that’s been hard to come by. I’m going back to nursing school although with COVID and twins that’s going to be delayed by a few semesters.

Edited to try to fix font?? Not sure what’s going on there 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Due Date: 10/9

Upcoming Appointment’s: checkup on June 16 during 23rd week

Rant: My in-laws are causing a lot of stress for me and MH. Got a panicked text from MIL Friday night right as we were going to sleep that FIL had fallen and possibly broken hip, but refused to go to the hospital or even a clinic. Also initially couldn’t get off of the floor and refused to have MH or his brother come over and help him get up. He was eventually able to crawl to his bed and claimed he felt better when we checked in in the morning. Finally got him to concede to mention it to doctor when he went in for PT on his shoulder this week. We’ve been worried about in-law’s health for years but they refuse to make any changes.

Rave: MH for staying calm through everything mentioned in my rant, it’s obviously stressful and his brother isn’t much help, so it’s all on him. He’s also been very excited we’re having a girl and gets excited every time I tell him she’s moving even though he can’t feel anything yet.

Questions: Best memory book you’ve found for baby’s 1st year?

GTKY: I finished up my master’s degree in history right before I got pregnant. I was working in the gift shop of our local museum but since they closed due to Covid I’ve been working at home on social media posts. If I could choose my career it wouldn’t be too far from what I’m doing now. I’d love to eventually be a curator of a historic house or a history professor.
  • Due date? Oct 12

Upcoming appointments? AS in two weeks

    Rant/rave?
Rant- still can’t get off my nausea meds. I tried the last two days and didn’t keep anything down yesterday except for an applesauce cup. This is the point in my first two pregnancies where the nausea was gone so I’m hoping it won’t last all pregnancy.

    Questions?

GTKY: What is your current career? If you had to choose a new one and had no limitations, what would you do?
    — Currently a SAHM which is not ideal. We are moving back to the US next year and I’m hoping to get a job in public health. I am a RN and have been missing working.

  • @ccstlln1 I haven't bought this yet (and it's for pregnancy through 18 years), but my friend got them and I'm thinking about getting them too! https://promptlyjournals.com/collections/childhood-history-journal
  • How far along are you? 19 weeks

    Due date? 10/11

    Upcoming appointments? AS next week

Rant/rave? Rant: I have a cut on all 4 of my finger tips on my dominant hand and it hurts to do everything! It's my own fault though. Rave: I finally found skincare that's working for me and it makes me so happy!

    Questions? Nope

GTKY: What is your current career? If you had to choose a new one and had no limitations, what would you do? I'm a stylist. I really like my job, but if I had to change careers (and I was child free and had a big bank account) I would design uniforms for the NHL/NFL/NBA.
  • How far along are you? 20 weeks today!

    Due date? 10/10

Upcoming appointments? Anatomy scan next Thurs (5/28)

    Rant/rave?
Rave: bought a bunch of gender neutral clothes and it is starting to set in that we are FINALLY getting our rainbow baby and get to experience being parents! Rant: my mom insists that these clothes are too "boy-ish" because there's a lot of green and grey, and some of them have whales on them. Didn't realize whales were a boy thing? I really don't think she's so thrilled about us being team green!

Questions? I apologize if this has been asked, I'm brand new here and didn't see it yet - FTM-to-be and I've been feeling kicks/flutters since 17w. Sometimes, especially in the last week or so, it feels almost like my stomach is dropping, similar to how it feels when you're on a rollercoaster. Has anybody else experienced this? I'm guessing it's something to do with baby's movements?

GTKY: What is your current career? If you had to choose a new one and had no limitations, what would you do?  I'm a school counselor right now at an elementary school! I've always had careers in mental health and human services (I have my Master's in Social Work and spent a few years as a social worker in inpatient psych; I've also worked as a children's mental health therapist and a disaster relief counselor). If I could do anything in the entire world and steady income wasn't a worry, I would love to be a children's book author or do voice acting!

How far along are you? 19 weeks and 5 days

    Due date? 10/12

    Upcoming appointments? A/s tues

Rant/rave?I really miss sleeping through the night or being able to sleep in.  I finished a CEU this week! Yay!

Questions?has anyone made decisions or thought about whether or not they'd let family meet new baby in Oct if things are the way they are now?

GTKY: What is your current career? If you had to choose a new one and had no limitations, what would you do? I'm an SLP. Been working on the medical side for 8 yrs. Would swap careers  I could- my dream job would be supreme Court Justice!
  • @jgrodo, I’m actively avoiding thinking about that because my childcare plan for DS is to have my ILs fly out and come stay with us for the birth.
No matter what, I’ll have to find someone to watch my son during my c section but I probably won’t let anyone see the baby if things haven’t changed.

@amanda1auren, I haven’t experienced that myself but I would imagine it’s just movements. You can always mention it to your OB at your next appt.

@profmcgonagall it's so tricky. I know my parents want to come down and if they do I know they will respect whatever restrictions(as in like wear masks or maybe no holding baby) are placed but my in-laws won't and they are only 20 min away. I'm so torn and feel bad about it.   Glad to know it's not just me worrying about. Have you already found someone to watch your son?

@amanda1auren I haven't experienced that either. But my other pregnancy I rarely felt my lil guy bc of where the placenta was.
  • @jgrodo, I have not. I’m waiting until we know for sure my ILs won’t be able to come.
But the UK is putting a mandatory 14 day quarantine in place for anyone flying in starting in June so I should probably get going on that.

  • I have thought a lot about how this will all go come October and I just have no idea. We’ll already be more cautious due to RSV and flu season

@mckjacks right?!? Like this ontop of all that and I'm just at a total loss. Like having my in laws get Tdap last time was such a fight btw my hubs and I that I can only imagine what this will be like. And their activity today was to go for their daily walk around a shopping center and wander a store. Like they don't normally go out so much but now they do this daily 😕

@profmcgonagall oh really? Where are they flying from? Do you already be have your csection date? I was induced last time was debating asking doc at next appt about how far out that would be scheduled if needed since they don't want me going past due date. I'm guessing it's probably to early to know hehe. I was just trying to figure out how to schedule someone to watch my son if my parents can't with out specific dates hehe, ugh
  • @jgrodo, they would be flying in from Indiana.
I don’t have a date yet but I know it will be in my 37th week and they generally do scheduled csections on certain days so I can narrow it down. They said they don’t schedule until you are in the 3rd tri
I’m going to really start trying to find someone 1-2 months in advance if it’s looking like they can’t come.

@profmcgonagall oh that's helpful though that you'll have that much info that far(kinda) in advance. That sounds like a good timeframe.
