Acute Urinary Retention

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced urinary retention in the 3rd trimester. I constantly have the urge but cannot empty my bladder. My dr and NP have been dismissive of my concerns just telling me frequent urination is common. I tried to explain its more than frequent and am not being heard. I ended up in urgent care to have it confirmed through a bladder scan that I am retaining urine. They tried a catheter but it was so very painful. I have an appointment with a new OB to try to get some relief but wondering if anyone has experienced this and perhaps how it was resolved?! I have tried leaving forward, backwards, standing (with depends), and laying down (again depends) with no relief. It is most painful when I am up trying to walk or do anything physical. Sitting not laying is the most relief. Thanks for any helpful advice!
