Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: the Red Pill in The Matrix
Upcoming appointments: This Thursday will finally be my first!
How are you feeling?: Nauseous. Digestion pains. Exhausted.
Rants/Raves: Rave: As stressful as it is with neither of us working for the foreseeable future thanks to the pandemic, I am so grateful my husband is home to help take care of our toddler and me while I feel so miserable. He is such a great dad and has also been catering to my every whim when it sounds like something might not be repulsive to eat. I don’t know how I’d be managing right now without him!
Questions: Those of you with nausea in this or precious pregnancies, when did it let up for you? I keep reading 12-14 weeks for about half of women, and that seems like forever away for me still 😭
GTKY: What is your favorite placed you’ve visited? That is tough for me, but probably Japan. It just felt so safe there, and everything was so clean, and everyone was so polite. We went with a group of friends and had great food and it was just a great time!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: blueberry
Upcoming appointments: finally have my first appointment this Thursday!
How are you feeling?: good, still tired
Rants/Raves: DH told his best friend that I’m pregnant. Normally it wouldn’t be a huge deal, but this guy is my former boss and we still work together. I don’t want DH to feel like he can’t tell anyone but ugh.
Questions:
GTKY: What is your favorite placed you’ve visited? Hawaii! I’d go back every year if we could afford it and had the time.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: raspberry?
Upcoming appointments: tomorrow
How are you feeling?: nauseous, anxious, tired, hungry, tender breasts
Rants/Raves: we told some more people yesterday at 8 weeks, I suck at secrets. They are all so excited for us.
Questions:
GTKY: What is your favorite placed you’ve visited? Hawaii or NAPA, we just went to both in November for our honeymoon and it was the most amazing time. We had our son and my MIL and step FIL came to babysit when we needed and it was nice to have family there with us!
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 7 wks and 6 days DD 12/28
FTM/STM/STM+: STM
Team Green/Pink/Blue: I need to find out to rearrange kid bedrooms
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a pea?
Upcoming appointments: Thursday, ultrasound check with the RE. TR**super nervous about this one as our FET attempt in October was a loss right around this time.
How are you feeling?: Ugh, post nasal drip plus mega snoring has kicked in. Some headaches this week and less dry heaving.
Rants/Raves: I got my seedlings planted in my raised bed yesterday. Things are looking good.
Questions:
GTKY: What is your favorite placed you’ve visited? I love the mountains, I'm too fair skinned to enjoy the beach multiple times a week. I just want to lay in a hammock and read a good book outside a cabin.
@RookieAlert I really think at 12 weeks everything got better for me with my first. I only had food aversion with him but I could finally eat again at 12 weeks! I hoping it’s the same with this one, the nausea this time is awful.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: December 29th, 7w6d
FTM/STM/STM+: FTM, but second pregnancy
Team Green/Pink/Blue: we'll find out, but happy with either
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: since I'm only a day off from 8 weeks I'll go with raspberry. On Friday the NP referred to it as a "jelly bean"
Upcoming appointments: Telemedicine check-in on June 5th and then 12-week NT scan on June 17th.
How are you feeling?: I take back everything I said about not having morning sickness/nausea. I was a total worthless lump all weekend. It isn't helped by the permanent lump in my throat (heartburn, I think?), which makes me gag. That said, I feel like I can't complain since I haven't vomited and I know there are a lot of women who have it way worse.
Rants/Raves: Raves: My first scan was bumped up to last Friday since I had some spotting. Kid's actually there and looking fine so far. Also a big rave for my husband. I apologized for being lazy this weekend and he said that I'm far more productive than he was since I'm busy making a human. Husbands: take note. My parents adopted an adorable kitten on Saturday, so I've been inundated with cute kitty photos. Romaine lettuce is growing nicely, and the mesclun seedlings are also coming up.
Rants: Nausea. Not that I'm feeling like either, I also can't exercise or have sex until my next appointment, because of the spotting. I feel badly for my husband. Based on what the NP said, I may not go back to the office until after maternity leave (they strongly advise against it during the outbreak), which is crazy to think about. She also said I shouldn't be going to the grocery store. My husband can do it, but I actually enjoy grocery shopping. It's my one outing opportunity (every 2 weeks or so), and since I do most of the cooking I actually like looking for fun ingredients and thinking up meal ideas while I'm there. Will need to do a lot more prep work if I'm sending my husband.
Questions: Have any of you given thought to what you'll do regarding grandparent visits, etc.? We told our parents this weekend, but apparently my husband spent a lot of time telling his mom that things will be different from when his brother and sister-in-law had their kids because of COVID, we'll have to restrict/alternate who sees the baby when and he has to defer to my parents since it's their first grandchild and I'm their only child (I didn't know about any of this until afterwards, no wonder he said they didn't sound as excited as with the first pregnancy). I understand that he's likely right, but also feel like there's too many unknowns to really make many plans now.
GTKY: What is your favorite placed you’ve visited? So there's my favorite trip and then there's my favorite places to go repeatedly. My favorite trip so far has been Chile, which I talked about somewhere else (crazy mountains, penguins, guanacos, lakes, volcanoes, etc). However, when it comes to my favorite places, it's the Adirondacks in upstate New York or Cape May, NJ. They feel like home, I'd go there every year, multiple times a year, if I could.
@akoros I've had similar thoughts about not going back to the office until after maternity leave. I've heard estimates that people would working from home for 8-12 months. Both my company and my dad's have said similar things. It's so strange to think about! About grandparent visits, both sets of parents live 8-13 hours away by car. We'll want my mom to come stay with us beforehand if at all possible - we have people who can help watch DS but it would be so much easier if she was here. I don't really know how we'll approach visits though, when the time comes I'll talk to the pediatrician and get their latest recommendations.
@karmba They haven't given a timeline on when we'll go back (still working on their "decision trees"), but my boss has no interest in forcing people to go in so I don't think it'll be a fight. Just kind of strange to think that I won't be there for almost a year. I think I'll also take a bit of a "wait and see" approach, and as things get closer talk to all the doctors to see what the recommendations are. My parents are only 3 hours away and my in-laws are close (about 90 minutes), so it's a trip but not overly difficult for them to visit. Part of me is hoping that our regional testing capacity will have increased by then, so we can do something like ask everyone to get a test before visiting. Right now it's only available to essential workers and those with symptoms or a known exposure, but I've seen that some states are opening it up to more of their residents.
Still feeling mildly hungover all the time. I was pretty panicked yesterday. I went to the bathroom and there was blood. NP thinks everything is fine and it’s just normal spotting. I’m now nervous every time I go to the bathroom.
Rants/Raves:
Questions:
So I’m being monitored by my MFM. I established care with an OB last year for just annual testing/check ups. I have an appointment in a couple weeks with my OB but I’m trying to decide if I should cancel and let them know I’m pregnant or what to do. Suggestions?
GTKY: What is your favorite placed you’ve visited?
Visited for a trip? Cancun and Hawaii. Our favorite place to go every year as a family is Lake Powell.
FTM/STM/STM+: Second time mom, I have a 2 year old daughter
Team Green/Pink/Blue: Green (cant wait to find out)
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Raspberry?
Upcoming appointments: I am trying to get my first OB appointment after having 2 Sonos with my fertility clinic...but its been hard to schedule something with these people which is kind of frustrating honestly.
How are you feeling?: I hesitate to write this but I think I am feeling better more often, less nauseated (please dont jinx it!)
Rants/Raves: Yall, I am shy of 9 week and showing! I think its the bloat- I am sooo gassy and bloated.
Questions:
GTKY: What is your favorite placed you’ve visited? Paris and Rome and Positano.

@mrspants0809 I hear you on the nerves. Ever since spotting last week (got it checked out, everything is fine) I'm still nervous every time I go to the bathroom that it'll be back or there will be more.
Regarding your OB, I'd call and tell them you're pregnant and ask how they want to handle it since you're already seeing a MFM. They may want you to come in anyway to discuss, or tell you to just stick with the MFM.
Belated Rave: B6 was delivered!! Feeling better than this weekend, but really hoping this helps. I'm also taking over my husband's Tums to get rid of this thing in my throat...poor guy tends to have stomach issues (I rarely do, which is why I'm a baby about it) and I'm eating all his chalk tablets.
@akoros they ended up calling me to reschedule again. I told them what was going on and they said they’d cancel my appointment and to let them know of my MFM wants me to see the OB for anything.
I can’t wait until my appointment a week from today for the reassurance that everything is ok. I keep telling myself everything is fine, I’m still having symptoms and the spotting is almost non existent as if this morning. 🤷🏼♀️ Not too much I can do so I’m trying to keep my stress down.
@mrspants0809 Fingers crossed that everything goes well next week! I was a wreck going to my first appointment, but everything was fine. Spotting is definitely common, my mother mentioned that she also bled when she was pregnant with me. I tried to calm myself by remembering that I didn't have other symptoms like cramping.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a lime!
Upcoming appointments: This Thursday
How are you feeling?: Less tired, starting to feel a little more myself aside from the crappy eating
Rants/Raves: it's been so hard to stay on track with my nutrition while working from home!! I've been super frustrated and worried I'm gaining too fast. Trying to accept the changes though. Thankful I'm able to work from home on the crappy days.
Questions: Do any of you have doctors who don't say much during appts? Might be because I havent had many appts yet but I feel like I have to ask about EVERYTHING. Also anyone else gain a ton in the first trimester but leveled out in the end?
What is your favorite placed you’ve visited? Japan!! It is so beautiful and each city I visited was so different.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 12/23. 9 weeks today
FTM/STM/STM+: FTM. Second pregnancy
Team Green/Pink/Blue: Team hoping for pink.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a Cherry!
Upcoming appointments: June 1st. Getting closer. Yay!
How are you feeling?: ugh, not great but not horrible I guess so I'm thankful. I've been dizzy lately, alot of headaches, nausea after I eat, crazy crazy tired and lots of bloating and gas.
Rants/Raves: Rant: This weekend was rough. I had to leave work early on sat cause I felt horrible and got dizzy and almost fainted or passed out which was scary. Still not feeling the greatest but a bit better from sat. I layed on my couch for 4 days straight and did nothing and just slept. Felt like a bum but whatever it was needed.
Raves: My wonderful husband bought me a elliptical yesterday and weights to use in our downstairs to keep active which I'm so excited and thankful about, but I feel sooo tired and yucky and nauseous that I feel bad cause I dont know when it will be before I can actually try it out. All I wanna do is lay on my couch lol. I have zero energy. I'm going to try and force myself to use it to keep in shape even if its only for 5 mins a day.
Questions: Not right now.
What is your favorite placed you’ve visited? Dominican Republic. I've been 3 times and I'm dying to go back again. I love it there sooo much. The food, people and beaches/water are all amazing. I miss it!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A blackberry

How are you feeling?: Always tired, with nausea still coming and going
Rants/Raves: Rave- It is FINALLY starting to actually feel like spring around here with the nicer weather
Questions: Has anyone dealt with sciatica? I struggled with it during my previous pregnancies and am already having significant back pain now, though it feels early
GTKY: What is your favorite placed you’ve visited? We love Disney!
@sweet3261 I dealt with sciatica during my last pregnancy as well. I’ve had a tiny bit of discomfort so far this pregnancy, but nothing like how bad it was towards the end of my first. I guess my body just remembers and is gearing up though!
Re: Week 4+ (12/22-12/31) Check-In 5/17/2020
