How are you feeling? Pretty good, with the nice weather I’ve been getting out more so I’m extra tired but it makes me fall asleep faster.
Raves/Rants: 22 weeks is a milestone for us since we lost our Angel boy at 22 weeks. I’m so happy we hit it!! Now goal is just holding my son full term!
Questions: anyone reading any birthing books? I’m really loving the Bradley Method but I’d be open to other great books.
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do? Golf! My husband loves to golf so I’d really like to learn so maybe we could go together.
@ktholysz I read Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, and it helped so much. You've been thru the birth process before so might not be as helpful, but I'm a FTM so I was so nervous, and that book completely changed my perspective. Highly recommended for any other FTMs.

How are you feeling? Mostly pretty good compare to the last 19 weeks! We had a good scan last week so I'm not so stressed and feel like I can properly start preparing for baby coming!
Raves/Rants: my skin has become so itchy and weird, and I've been battling some kind of vaginal infection for over a month, so I feel like I'm just constantly itching. I should have test results back tomorrow which will hopefully finally diagnose the infection so treatment can start.

GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do? Calligraphy....it's so mesmerizing!
@readytobemama I have read that book too! I agree it’s a great read!
I honestly don’t remember when the line appeared on my stomach with my oldest. I haven’t seen it just yet in this pregnancy. I’m sure it will be soon I feel like I’m getting so big!
@readytobemama I never got the line last time. I think I might have a faint line this time, but it's hard to tell lol

How are you feeling? Mostly fine. Constipation is a thing so I’m taking daily colace now. Also I’ve started getting Braxton Hicks contractions already, is that normal? Has anyone else had them? I’m sure I’m noticing it sooner this time since I know what they feel like but I didn’t realize they would start already.
Raves/Rants: rave - the weather lately has been amazing. We spent all weekend outside and even though a lot of it was doing yard work and gardening it just makes me so happy.
Questions: see above question about BH contractions
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do? Play piano. MH can kinda play (from what he remembers from playing as a kid). I’d love to have a piano in the house and learn one day.
How are you feeling? Unmotivated and exhausted. Getting headaches often. Hips are sore. Bending over is such a chore so my house is looking unkempt with all the toys scattered that I would normally run around and pick up easily. Also stressed about a few socially distant family visits we will have this week because my youngest turns 3. We haven’t done any like this and I don’t know how the kids will react.
Raves/Rants: Rant: The water main in front of my house broke (for the 5th time in 7 years!!!) at the end of last summer. My side walk has been gravel since and only god knows when the city will put in a new one. In addition they didn’t fully fill in the hole so it’s a swoop and the grass seed they used must have been all weeds because there isn’t a single blade of grass in the area. I tired to wait them out but yesterday I spent a significant amount of time sweeping and shoveling sand out of the curb/street area I’m front of my house that has been their since the main blew. It filled a yard waste bin and is so heavy. I have no idea what to do with it. Rave: We put a swing set addition on my kids club house in the yard yesterday and they are loving it!
Questions:
@readytobemama I cannot remember when it came in for my prior two but I do remember it lasted longer after pregnancy then I had it during.
@ktholysz I have had no interest in books this time which is a such stark difference from my previous two pregnancies.
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do? Carpentry and other useful home improvement skills.
Upcoming appointments: may 19th growth scan and fetal echo
How are you feeling? Heartburn, pelvic pain and swelling. Not great.
Raves/Rants: Rave 1 My semester ends this week and then I get three months break until the new semester starts. I desperately need this break!!
Rave 2 genetics called and my amnio came back All clear. No chromosomal issues detected at this point. 1st hurdle down. There may be more to come, but today I need to celebrate this. Next test is for some other syndrome associated with this defect that baby has but those results take 3 weeks!
Questions:
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do? Hmmm... good question. I got nothing right now...
@readytobemama@ktholysz agreed about Ina Mae! I didn't take it as gospel (and certainly asked for the Epidural!) but it helped a lot to think about the things in that book during labor!
@angbaby83 I'm so glad to hear about those results!! Still keeping my fingers crossed for the best outcome for you and baby.
@elsie2014 second time mama here and I've already been feeling some BHs in the past week too. Not very much - maybe just once a day that I notice. It might be happening more often but not super noticeable at this point. It's much earlier than last PG, although it's possible I didn't know what they were until later.
EDD/weeks+days: 19+3
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: green, finding out in two weeks
Baby is the size of a(n): jar of peanut butter
Upcoming appointments: two weeks for AS
How are you feeling? Good! Still in the comfortable part of the second tri
Raves/Rants: Welp, not much going on here except the same old (trying to WFH and also be a full time childcare provider). Still thankful for the paycheck but really hard to be productive! Still unclear when preschool will/should open. I'm starting to accept it may not be til fall 😬
Questions: NATM!
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do? So many things! Mostly what I'm thinking of now is getting better at things that I already technically know how to do, but just suck at. So I'll say I'd like to be fluent in another language (not just somewhat passable, like I am in Spanish).
Upcoming appointments: Repeat AS and OB appt both May 12th
How are you feeling? Pretty good. I'm continuing to notice round ligament pain when exercising and I just feel really big this time around
Raves/Rants: We put my 2.5 year old son in a double bed on Friday and he has done incredible. Like, zero changes from his amazing sleep routine he had when in his crib. I am so hopeful the next one will sleep train well like my son did
Questions: I know we aren't supposed to lay on our back for extended periods of time because of the pressure it places on the vena cava, but is there any reason to not engage in core exercises other than discomfort? I'm not talking anything intense, just the programs I teach have 1 or 2 tracks of core work which I may modify by putting my feet down etc., but a crunch for instance... what is the actual harm? My last pregnancy I had to stop working out at 20 weeks due to placenta previa so I never got to the point of worrying about this stuff
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do? I'm with @Louise_Belcher on this one... my dad is incredibly handy and I've picked up a lot from him, but want to continue to learn how to do all the things around the house so we never have to hire anyone
Upcoming appointments: Wednesday for a telehealth appt,
How are you feeling? Physically good! My cramp has gone away and I didn’t get it at work today even though I was working pretty hard so I’m grateful for that. Mentally a bit stressed because I’ve been working late every day (not by choice) and we are still so behind in packing! I’m noticing the energy finally which is exciting
Raves/Rants: baby boy is moving more intensely now! I can see movement from the outside. I finally posted a bump photo on my insta/fb story yesterday and got some love for that which made me feel good since I’m self conscious!
Rant: I have an employee at work who argues with me every single time I tell him something and I’m sooo tired of it. I asked him to finish a task before he left today (he is so slow and never finishes his work) and he told me no because he was off and walked out. So me and another employee had to do it when we were supposed to be off too. I just keep telling myself this week and next and I’m gone!
Also H bought us a scale so I could weigh myself for my appt and I gained 5 lbs in a month. It’s a dial scale (apparently they had no digitals so idk how accurate it is.) On track still I think!
Questions: edited because I thought of something,...whose belly button popped out?????? I’m so scared for mine to because I already have an outie and it’s going to look so weird lol
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do? How to bake bread! A lot of people I follow have been doing sourdough. I also want to learn how to sew/knit/crochet or make crafty things but my attention span is terrible.
@ktholysz I’d also like to know the answer to this! I want to read ina mays books because I’ve been watching More Business of Being Born and I really love the midwife approach. @readytobemama I think I read that it doesn’t always happen for everyone but it can start around now if you’re going to get it
@angbaby83 I’m so happy to hear that the amnio came back normal! Fx the other test comes back good as well
@angbaby83 so happy for you that it's been good results so far, prayers it continues! Have been thinking of you a lot.
@greyl I haven't made sourdough, but do you have a bread maker? We were gifted one and it makes it so simple, and not so time consuming. It saves so much money being able to make it and the smell of fresh baked bread is amazing!
How are you feeling? Great. Just getting crowded in there.
Raves/Rants: out washing machine wiggles itself off the hose and flooded. It’s upstairs so I saw water coming through the ceiling. The ceiling of our 3 month old new build house. Ugh.
Questions: NA
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do? Sew on a sewing machine.
And my belly button popped out super early this time. It took much longer last pregnancy. There was a point in time (last time). That it would be in, and when I laughed or coughed it would pop out for just a second. It was too funny
@readytobemama I never got the line with my first and haven’t yet with this one. I also never got stretch marks. So I think it might be genetic and/or how your body handles pregnancy.
@readytobemama I don't!! I’ll have to look into them. my H loves bread so I would like to be able to make it.
@balletnerd omg noooo we’ve had our washing machine leak too. The water seriously goes everywhere 😭 but I’m sorry it went through the ceiling of your new house!! Do you have to have someone come out to deal with that?
Baby is the size of a(n): I just saw a thing online that said this week baby is the size of a my little pony
Upcoming appointments: I’ll see both doctors on the 29th. I’m a little annoyed to still have to go to the specialist appointments only because I’m 35. I have no complications and it seems a little silly.
How are you feeling? The heartburn/indigestion is terrible.
Raves/Rants: The weather this weekend was beautiful and we spent a ton of time out on our deck letting 2yo play in his kiddie pool and with his water table and I had forgotten how much he loves the water and how happy we all are on these days. There is so much going on and both DH and I struggle with depression and anxiety so I cherish those carefree moments when we can just have fun and be silly as a family.
Questions:
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do? There are so many things. I’d love to learn a new language I’ve been playing with learning Irish in Duolingo. I’d also love to learn to play piano. DH’s parents had to move this month and have given us the family piano so now is the time lol Also I’d love to learn to sew properly I need a new machine as I killed mine trying to make cloth diaper inserts.
@readytobemama I never had the line but I was told that with as fair as my skin is I’m really unlikely to get one. @greyl Mine only just slightly extended but it weirded me out for sure. My bellybutton has always been really sensitive and honestly all bellybuttons weird me out a little. @angbaby83 I am so glad to hear that your amnio came back with good results.
@beaandthebabes that is annoy that you still have to see a specialist. I was released from MFM at the 20 week point. But they said at my 12 week appointment if my genetic results came back good then I would be released to regular OB schedules. I’m 35 also.
@ktholysz I feel like it is probably because the covid thing has my clinic basically playing musical chairs doctorwise. I’m hoping that my actual doctor will release me.
@readytobemama You are making me want a bread machine. Which is completely in opposition me also hoping I can slow the weight gain this pregnancy. @beaandthebabes I had never heard that about fair skin. I am very pale, but got a very dark line for both of my prior pregnancies. With my first pregnancy it lasted into my second pregnancy. @greyl My belly button has not popped, but has flattened so much that that top edge is sticking out a bit and is noticeable in a fitted shirt.
@beaandthebabes mine is super sensitive too! Trying to get in there to clean it is torture for me, It’s a small umbilical hernia that I want to get fixed one day after having babies because I’m sure it will never look the same if it ends up popping out all the way. So far it hasn’t really moved but I’m nervous it’s going to be huge lol
@greyl I have an umbilical hernia too. My doctor said to wait to get it fixed until after I’m done having babies. It does get tender and it is flattening a little with my uterus moving upward. It does look bad postpartum but after a month it’s not too bad. It’s just annoy.
@angbaby83 yay for good news! Continued prayers for your little one
EDD/weeks+days: 19 + 6 due September 23rd
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out TOMORROW! 😃🙌🏻 Just a little excited lol
Baby is the size of a(n): mango
Upcoming appointments: Tomorrow! Anatomy scan with maternal fetal medicine
How are you feeling? I’m a bundle of nerves awaiting my anatomy scan but hopefully come tmw after my check I’ll feel wonderful! Growing aches/pains on and off, some heartburn, gas, tired, mild nausea, etc but nothing too unbearable at all compared to the first 16 weeks!!
Raves/Rants: rant- still just bummed out DH cant come with tomorrow and I found out he also can’t call or video in which I think is dumb! Oh well, most important thing is baby still living! rave- so excited to find out if baby is a boy or girl! I love the nicer weather days getting to get DS out on walks. DS is talking more and more each day which is so fun. Also thank God my DH is working from home bc he’s a real life saver for this tired pregnant mama when DS throws his fits lol
Questions: I don’t think I have any right now
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do?
I agree with those who have said it would be neat to know a second language for real. I took 5 years of Spanish in school and at my school it was honestly a joke bc half the year each year was review and I didn’t become anywhere near fluent. Also, learning to sew again! I have a machine from each of my grandmothers and don’t remember how to use them anymore
@greyl my belly button took a while to pop out last time and then it never quite went back to the way it was before haha. Like it went back in but... differently. So this time it’s not “out” yet but it’s kinda halfway in and halfway out.... idk how to explain it. It’s very weird lol. I think it will be fully popped out pretty soon.
@momofmiracles31889 Sorry H cannot go or facetime. I had the same rules and it was crushing. You got this though! Are you finding out the sex at the appointment or later together?
Upcoming appointments: thursday with OB for regular checkup
How are you feeling? Freaking exhausted and cannot concentrate on anything. However, I'm feeling all the little kicks now which is really nice.
Raves/Rants: The twins are in the 18mo sleep regression and I'm so over it. My daughter won't go to sleep until 9ish (before was 7-7:30) and she fights it the entire time and her brother wakes up 3-4 times a night. Sometimes he's hungry but most of the time he's just awake. This time needs to be over...fast.
Questions: nothing
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do? Surf...I've never had the opportunity but now I live far enough north in florida that we get waves that are surfable so I might try it after this baby.
Two Furbabies: Mika (american eskimo) and Gypsy (wire-haired terrier, dachshund mix)
Twins: Kaiden and Zara born 10/2018 conceived after 6 years of infertility via a medicated IUI
@readytobemama I didn't get the line with the twins so I likely won't now; it's really dependent on your skin pigmentation. They say the darker you are the more likely it'll happen, which is funny because I'm fairly brown.
@elsie42 I started getting BH around 20 wks or so last pregnancy and they lasted the whole time. When I went into preterm labor I almost couldn't tell the difference. I think my biggest thing was I couldn't drink enough water for me and the twins so I was just constantly dehydrated (they could tell it in my urine). So try to relax a bit and drink plenty of water. They do get uncomfortable sometimes...
@momofmiracles31889 Sorry your DH can't be there tomorrow. If they are able to tell the baby's sex you should have them not tell you, put it in an envelop and you and DH find out together...I think that would be nice to make him feel included. Just a thought!
Two Furbabies: Mika (american eskimo) and Gypsy (wire-haired terrier, dachshund mix)
Twins: Kaiden and Zara born 10/2018 conceived after 6 years of infertility via a medicated IUI
@Louise_Belcher and @linz36 thank you!! our original plan was to find out the sex at anatomy scan and then do a reveal with my parents and our DS when we get back and video it to send or repeat on FaceTime for others. My DH said he wants me to still be able to findout during the scan if I want to. and I’ll reveal it to him with my parents and our DS. But I keep going back and forth bc I know it’d be special to just find out with him first too. What did the rest of you do who couldn’t have your husbands along?? And when you don’t find out the sex during a scan do you have to look away a lot of the time/miss out on seeing baby for more time?
@momofmiracles31889 we didn't find out gender for either of our babies so I don't have any advice on how to share with your husband, but for both of my anatomy scans the tech had the monitor turned towards them for the entire scan to ensure they were getting the images correctly. Only at the end of the scan did they turn the screen towards me to see the baby, and when they went past the genitals they told me to look away for a moment.
@momofmiracles31889 we're team green so didn't want to know the sex, and still got lots of time to see baby. If the tech took note of the sex it was at the beginning of the session before she turned the screen for me, and when I could see the baby, she made sure it was only side profiles in that area. I got a USB of pictures after and she made sure not to include any that would make the sex obvious.
Thanks ladies! My scan is at maternal fetal medicine and I know at my 13 week scan with them they actually have the ultrasound showing on a second screen that you can watch the whole time like a tv! And the tech has their own screen right in front of them. But it’s good to know that there’s plenty of pics/views of baby without sex being obvious. I wasn’t sure how obvious it is this far along haha
@momofmiracles31889 I found out alone during the scan (3rd child). During our scan for our first we didn't find out at that time and had them write it down and put it in an envelope. For us the monitor is in full view the entire time, so we had to look away for what felt like forever while the tech got the pics she needed of legs and belly and such. Because I didn't want to look away this time I opted to just find out alone at the ultrasound. For our first we did a reveal and found out at the shower. A friend ordered handheld confetti cannons that the grandpas set off at the end of our shower. This time I ordered a cheap balloon drop off amazon and we did that on Easter. My boys loved it so much we did it like 7 more times.
@Louise_Belcher that’s good to know! That’s what DH and I don’t want, me having to look away so much of the time, bc seeing baby move around is SO special and really helps calm my nerves and I don’t want to miss a second of that time with baby! I’m glad DH got to see baby at our 13 week scan.
I made a DIY super simple reveal- I put a paper saying boy or girl over an old Pringle’s can and prepped a ton of blue and pink paper hearts to put in and we’ll have our DS dump the can 😊😂
@readytobemama I got the line at the beginning of the third trimester with both pregnancies. I never heard it didn’t show up for fair skin before. I’m basically translucent so it was very noticeable. It was there way longer after birth than I had it before though. And it was uneven too. It started to the left of my belly button coming from the top and then shifted to the right under my bellybutton.
@elsie42 I just started getting some BH this past week. I notice it more if I haven’t had enough to drink or I really have to pee. It’s definitely earlier than my last pregnancy but it’s also my third and I know everything starts earlier with each pregnancy.
EDD/weeks+days: 21+1 due September 14

Baby is the size of a(n): endive
Upcoming appointments: May 28th (24 weeks) for my first in-person appointment since 10 weeks. I’ll have my glucose test then too.
How are you feeling? Tired and anxious. I have to get a blood draw for testing this week, and I’m nervous to go to the lab.
Raves/Rants: I wish the Bump app worked for me. I haven’t been on the group in a week because it’s such a pain. I have to be on browser, but I have to turn off WiFi for the browser to load. The app only shows me a blank screen. What am I doing wrong?!
Questions: I guess my rant is a question.
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do? I would like to learn piano and it seems there are a few of us who do too. We have a piano that my in-laws gave us that no one knows how to play it. I can read music and I fiddle around with it, but I would not say I am any good.
@momofmiracles31889 I’m sorry he can’t go with you! I go Thursday and I’m sure it’ll be the same but of course they’ll wait til last minute to tell me anything.
We also have a big screen where we go & with our 2nd daughter we had them write it on paper and put it in an envelope and then we did something fun as a family to find out. We had a fetal echo that day so couldn’t take our 1st and wanted to find out together. I had to look away but it wasn’t for too long. We got to still see the baby moving a ton and got lots of photos.
This time the kids definitely won’t be able to go and my guess is H won’t either. I’ll have them put it in an envelope again and then we’ll all find out together that afternoon. My friend is going to fill squirt guns with a watered down paint mixture and we’re going to wear white TShirts and squirt each other. We did silly string last time and just wanted something fun again this time.
@momofmiracles31889 ugh I know how you feel. I called ahead and asked if I could FaceTime with DH and they said yes. But when I got there the tech said no it’s against policy. So I ended up doing the envelope thing. I basically only had to look away for 2 min out of the 20. It was nice to find out together.
@greyl luckily it doesn’t seem too bad. I think it might be ok without someone coming in to fix anything

@elsie2014 second time mama here and I've already been feeling some BHs in the past week too. Not very much - maybe just once a day that I notice. It might be happening more often but not super noticeable at this point. It's much earlier than last PG, although it's possible I didn't know what they were until later.

Baby is the size of a(n): Mango
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: blue💙
Baby is the size of a(n): banana 🍌

We find out on Thursday!
Baby is the size of a(n):
Mango
Upcoming appointments:
Thursday is my 20 week + anatomy scan!
How are you feeling?
Pretty good. Definitely feel pregnant and have to remember to not over do it or I’m exhausted.
Raves/Rants:
Questions:
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do?
I’d love to learn to crochet & play piano.
@greyl I haven't made sourdough, but do you have a bread maker? We were gifted one and it makes it so simple, and not so time consuming. It saves so much money being able to make it and the smell of fresh baked bread is amazing!
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: pink!
Baby is the size of a(n): banana
Upcoming appointments: end of month
How are you feeling? Great. Just getting crowded in there.
Raves/Rants: out washing machine wiggles itself off the hose and flooded. It’s upstairs so I saw water coming through the ceiling. The ceiling of our 3 month old new build house. Ugh.
Questions: NA
GTKY: what is something you’d like to learn to do? Sew on a sewing machine.
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Confirmed Blue

Finding out TOMORROW!

Baby is the size of a(n): banana
@megsmcp Really the studies come from spending a long time on your back (think the whole night) so exercising should be fine...just get up slowly so you don't get light headed. If you have any questions ask your OB. Also, here's a little link that you might like https://health.clevelandclinic.org/exactly-how-bad-is-it-to-sleep-on-your-back-when-youre-pregnant/.
Just a thought!

our original plan was to find out the sex at anatomy scan and then do a reveal with my parents and our DS when we get back and video it to send or repeat on FaceTime for others.

I’m sorry he can’t go with you! I go Thursday and I’m sure it’ll be the same but of course they’ll wait til last minute to tell me anything.
