Current pregnancy - First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.
Upcoming appointments: regular OB/GYN on 5/22 and anatomy scan a week or two afterward
Rant/Rave: I went into a grocery store for the first time in nearly a month the other day and I did NOT feel safe. No one was social distancing, whole families were in there, and almost no one had masks. I hate living in a super red area. These Republicunts are going to kill us all.
Questions?: No
GTKY: I don't know if it's a vacation, but when I was an undergraduate I spent about 6 months in India doing study abroad. Amazing cultural experience. I'd love to go back some day.

Rant/Rave: Rant: I felt awful yesterday, puked first thing, and felt on the verge all day/nothing tasted good. At one point DH was chopping an onion and garlic for tacos and the smell was getting to me so I went to sit on the patio out back, then our dog decided to avoid her usual area and pooped right next to where I was sitting 👎🤮. Rave: today I feel so much better, eating everything, and not even a tinge of nausea 🎉
GTKY: What's the best vacation you ever took? Paris in 2014. I studied French all through junior high, high school, and college, it was one of my majors, but never had the chance to go to France (other than just a quick layover at the airport) until I was 27. I got an amazing deal on a plane ticket and told my boyfriend at the time I was going with or without him. He came with and on our first night there while staring up at the Eiffel Tower, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. 6 years later, we've been married for almost 5 years and have a little Cookie on the way 💗
Rant/Rave: I waaaaant real sushi! I've tried getting cooked rolls and they're fine, but I still have this craving for raw salmon and tuna and yellowtail... gaaaah... I want all the FISHES! also... I'm having weird intermittent drowsiness... which is mostly just annoying. Rave: I am slowly falling into a love hate relationship with my prenatal yoga app.
Questions?: Any suggestions to deal with sushi cravings would be welcome.
GTKY: What's the best vacation you ever took? I took a me only trip to California a little over a year ago, I was there for 4 days and bought my cello. It was glorious to travel by myself and just enjoy what I wanted when I wanted. I spent 5 hours in a Korean Spa and got a muscle car as a rental. I literally just woke up and did whatever came to mind for the day, ate what I wanted, drank when I wanted and spent 4 hours walking on the beach. One day I will do a me vacation again... it was glorious.
Upcoming appointments: I have a phone appointment next Monday. Since they are limiting in person visits I won’t go in until June!!!
Rant/Rave: Rant: I’ve really been craving a diet cola for the last month or so. I’ve pretty much cut out all soda because of the sugar, but Diet Pepsi and Coke are my all time favorite. Rave: We found out the sex this week, and finally told his family, yesterday, that we were pregnant. We were waiting till we could do it in person, while physical distancing, and there was no way I could make the 5 hour round trip before this week. It felt so good to see their excitement, and to tell them the gender in person. I filled an egg with hole punch circles of colored index cards, and decoupaged the ends. They then cracked the egg to reveal the gender.
Questions?: I’m good right now
GTKY: What's the best vacation you ever took? Probably the best vacation we took was visiting his extended family in New Mexico, and going to the balloon fiesta. His aunt and uncle’s company help put it on, so we got great passes each day. Definitely an awesome experience, after you get over the fact that you have to wake up at about 4 AM.
Upcoming appointments: first appointment at the birthing center tomorrow.
Rant/Rave: Rant: I’m supposed to start working next week, but it sounds like a complete mess. In order to keep productivity up we only have 30 mins for paperwork and have to clock out if our patients don’t show up. It doesn’t even sound like it’s worth the risk of possibly exposing myself to COVID when I won’t even be getting paid for a full days work. Rave: I’m so happy that I’ve been feeling the baby move already.
Questions?: None right now
GTKY: What's the best vacation you ever took? My husband and I spent 2 weeks driving from Colorado to Idaho in our ‘73 K5 blazer with a pop up camper. We spent the entire time remote camping and trail running. It was amazing!! We hardly saw any people and found a bunch of natural hot springs to soak in. Idaho is so beautiful!
Rant/Rave: I'm feeling frustrated because the last time I heard the heartbeat was 10 weeks and they are wanting me to wait for next in person appointment at 20 weeks due to covid. I feel like that is a long time to wait in between checking on the baby. This is my first pregnancy so my anxiety is a bit high. I'm considering getting an elective ultrasound just to check and make sure everything is ok. Also, my husband hasn't been allowed to go to any appointments and if I have this elective ultrasound (at a different location not affiliated with my OB) then he will be able to come. I feel like that would be a special moment for him!
Questions?: Is it normal to not have much of an appetite in 2nd trimester? I usually don't get hungry until later in the day even though I know I should be snacking.
GTKY: What's the best vacation you ever took? 5 year anniversary trip to El Dorado Seaside Suites in Riviera Maya,Mexico. All inclusive. Adults only. Wonderful food. Wonderful service. I can't wait to go back!
Upcoming appointments: May 21 for a check up, early June for an ultrasound
Rant/Rave: We had some pretty bad flooding last week (luckily my neighbourhood was unaffected) but the town is saying we will be under a boil water advisory UNTIL FREAKING SEPTEMBER as river water got into our entire piping system and created some gross slimy film on everything. Gotta bring the system down one neighbourhood at a time to sterilize everything. On the plus side, at least the water is running clear now so I don’t feel like I’m straight up washing in the river every time I shower.
Questions?: Not today
GTKY: What's the best vacation you ever took? In 2012 I went on a spring break trip to Cuba with one of my girlfriends. The trip itself wasn’t anything spectacular, the resort was what 2 university students could afford, food was meh. HOWEVER this is where I met the father of my baby and my best friend. Drunk at the swim up bar, a long way from home. We hung out all week and really hit it off, kept in touch when we got home as we learned we lived super close to each other, and 8 years later we’re still going strong. We’ve gone on lots of much nicer trips since but that will always be #1 for me.
@jordand1988 I’m thinking the same for the extra ultrasound so the boyfriend can come. He’s been super bummed about being barred from the clinics and it’s not stupid expensive to get done, where I’m at anyway.
