Week of pregnancy: 17 (Getting close to the halfway point for a twin pregnancy!)
Upcoming appointments: US & OB appointment next week, Anatomy US towards the end of the month
Rant/Rave: Rant: Woke up in the middle of the night with GI issues and immediately had issues after trying to eat breakfast this morning. Anything that’s not water isn’t doing well for me today. 😫 Rave: Finally got some maternity clothes after ordering them almost a month ago. Annnd my classes are done next week.

GTKY: What are you most worried about with this pregnancy or having a new baby? What are you most excited about?
Worried: I would have been worried about the transition of becoming a mom anyway, but since we’re having twins I’m really nervous for the transition and how we’ll adjust to two babies at once. I’m also just worried in general that something will happen to one or both of the babies. I just want everything to go well.
Excited: While I’m nervous for twins, I’m so excited to see their bond and how they’ll grow together. I’m excited for baby snuggles and seeing my husband become a dad.
Rant/Rave: Rant- Food aversions are back and I’m having a hard time cooking and meal planning Rave- MH went into town and found me some yeast! I was out for a few days and of course bread sounded amazing then
Questions?:
GTKY: What are you most worried about with this pregnancy or having a new baby? What are you most excited about? - I’m most worried about another premature birth and NICU stay or facing another death. I just can’t get it in my mind that everything is going to be ok.
If everything somehow does go well, I’m looking forward to seeing MS (2) interact with his little brother.

Rant/Rave: Rant- the past couple of days have been those days where it looks so nice outside, but actually it's kind of chilly. I haaaate that! Just give me a solid 77 and sunshine. Rave- I slept so well last night AND my best friend had a baby early this morning!

GTKY: What are you most worried about with this pregnancy or having a new baby? What are you most excited about? My answer for this is a little different, I guess, because I'm not taking this baby home! I'm worried that I will have a lot of sad feelings because I do really love the newborn stage. But I'm hopeful that since it will be such a happy occasion, I won't feel sad. I also worry about how my intended parents are feeling during this pregnancy, since due to all the restrictions they haven't been able to come to any appointments and we haven't been able to see each other at all. I'm most excited about seeing how happy and complete my IPs feel when they get to hold this baby for the first time!
Rant/Rave: I am so excited AND so terrified for my anatomy scan next week. I know worrying will do nothing, but it will be the first time in 2 months that I will be going to an in-person appointment. I'm mostly scared that if my husband isn't allowed in with me and something is wrong what am I supposed to do without him there? But half of me is so excited and I know things will most likely be just fine.
I also found out today that I may be going back to work next Monday... I am not sure how to feel. I manage a retail gift store and retailers are allowed to reopen that day. My company is being very careful and super supportive, but of course I'm nervous about the community response and potential customer issues that may arise from the current safety guidelines the governor has released. There is a lot to think about.
GTKY: What are you most worried about with this pregnancy or having a new baby? What are you most excited about?
I am mostly worried about the unknown. I want to be confident in my birth plan and my delivery team, but they have no idea (understandably so) what we can expect going forward. I just want to be sure that MH can be by my side for delivery as well as recovery. I want to be make sure I will be able to take a tour of the maternity center and take a birth class which are currently cancelled. I am worried my family won't be able to be as involved as we would all want because of health risks. I just wish things weren't so unknown right now...
I am most excited to be able to hold my baby and experience all the crazy and wonderful moments of motherhood and I can't wait to share it all with MH. He is hands down going to be such an amazing dad and I can't wait for that!
Questions: I think I felt the baby kick for the first time yesterday, best description is that it felt like someone poked me from the inside. I’ve been feeling flutters since about 15 weeks. It seems early to me that I’m feeling the baby, this is my first pregnancy, so my question is if it’s normal to be feeling anything this early?
Rant: We has friends drop something off at the house today. Thought they’d just drop it off but instead they came in without asking my husband and I if it was okay and stayed for over an hour. They have a 9-month old too. We’ve just been really strict about seeing people and I haven’t been anywhere other than the OB office since mid-March. I’m just worried because the husband has been working and they’d just done a lot of errands before seeing us, so now I’m worried if we got exposed to Covid. I know the risk is low, but I’m still worried.
Rave: The weather’s been nice where I am so my husband and I have been able to go on walks every day, it’s been nice getting out and enjoying the sunshine.
GTKY: Overall I’m just worried about my husband and I getting Covid before the baby comes and what could happen to the baby. And then us or the baby getting it too once the babies here. I’m a first time mom so it was already gonna be an anxious pregnancy for me and this hasn’t helped. I’m most excited about having a baby because MH and I have wanted this for over a decade, we were high school sweethearts in a long distance relationship for over 9 years. I’m just excited that we’ll finally be parents!
@ccstlln1 I'm also a FTM so I don't have an experienced answer to your question. I think I've been feeling some flutters for a couple weeks too, but they are really inconsistent. I think I felt a solid little kick today. I have heard that a lot if FTM have an easier time identifying movement after the AS because when they see the baby move during the scan they can sometimes connect that movement to what they're feeling in real time. Maybe we'll have that experience next week!!
@ccstlln1, it’s definitely possible you are feeling something. My OB says between 16-18 weeks is average. The movements really won’t be consistent until late second tri

I was describing it to my mom yesterday and she thought it was movement too. It’s only a few times a day, but it’s definitely reassuring if it is movement. But I’ll definitely be paying attention during my AS @ginevere for any movement, thanks for the suggestion!
