Twatwaffle Tuesday!

Who or what has been a twatwaffle?

NYC Department of Education is on my list. Since I work in special education we have full time summer school. We are paid overtime for it vs. an hourly rate which is what teachers get for gen.ed. summer school. I've been working it every summer for a decade. We always anticipate the yearly application coming out and pouncing on it! It should have come out in March, obviously that hasn't happened. We know we WILL have it as it is legally mandated. Just release the application already! GAH! We have no clue if we'll be in the buildings OR if it will continue to be remote BUT just release the dang application FFS.

Oh, the GAP. Still no shipment (ordered April 9th!!!!). Nada.

@willashbaby. That is crazy and school is winding down.  So they have to be making plans for summer school (or maybe everyone is just trying to keep their heads above water).  With a legal mandate, there shouldn't be a question with whether or not it should happen.

Mine might be a little silly, since I am pregnant and this scenario is my future.  Since we moved, our dog keeps getting up earlier and earlier.  This morning it was 4am.  I get up with him, since my husband has to work.  I have such a hard time going back to sleep.  Once he is fed and gone outside, the dog goes right back to sleep (unless the cat harasses him).  So I am not getting great sleep at the moment.  But naps for the win!!

@dobiemom11 that would drive me nuts! We feed our animals when we eat dinner, no dog is waking me up to eat  :D

@willashbaby. The worst part is he gets fed three times a day.  Once when we get up, once when we eat dinner, and once whenever we go to bed.  We tries pushing the bedtime dinner later (so my husband doing it after I have already been asleep awhile).  It makes no difference how late we feed him.  He might be kicked into a different room soon.

@dobiemom11 I would not survive  :D mine all get once a day. But I also have a small dog, CKCS. One cup a day or he gets too big. Same for the cats. You ever think about an auto dispenser? He can sit and stare at that and wait for his food vs. waking you up for it.

@willashbaby. We have one for the cat, but that might be a good idea for him as well.  It would have to be in our bedroom (or whatever room he is in), but it could work.  If he goes too long without eating, he gets acid reflux and throws up.  The vet was like you could put him on medication or just spread out his feedings.  Well one is free and works well for controlling the throwing up.  Hoping maybe once we all get back into some routine, he will as well.

@willashbaby I hope you find out soon. I really really hope our district (it’s a tiny rural district) will still offer our extended year services for my DD.  She is doing as good as can be expected (and academically she was ahead for Kinder) but I am not great at PT and speech and she really loves her specialists so I know she’d love to see them sooner than this fall.

Our complex office people 😫 we live on the third floor of our building. When we were leaving today to pick up our cat from the vet (she has a double ear infection, poor baby), I got stung by a wasp. There is a NEST of them under the top stair in front of our door. The only door in or out. 😫😫😫😫 DH hurried over to the office to tell them about it. They said they would “try” and get it done before the end of the day. Um. WHAT. It takes five minutes. Send someone out with a can of wasp death and kill them.

Thankfully DH and I are not allergic to wasps, but our downstairs neighbor literally stands maybe two feet from the nest to smoke. I don’t want him or his wife to get stung, either!
