Cloth Diaper Laundry?

Would like to do cloth diapers for our next baby. My concern is how often I will have to launder them. Should I expect to do 3+ laundry cycles a week? If so, I'm not sure its worth it with the $ I will spend in water, detergent, energy to run machine.
I want to be environmentally friendly and keep my baby's skin in mind, but I also don't want to lose my mind doing tons of laundry in the process.

We have a whole product spotlight thread we can dig up for you about cloth diapers which would be the perfect place to post a question like this, as one off questions tend to get lost (even moreso than the spotlights already do!
