My doctor initially thought boy could also see lines which looked like a girl. What do you think?
I think 16 weeks is reeeeaaallly early to try to tell. My sonographer said at our a/s that she will not say with any certainty prior to 17 weeks. I recommend waiting for another ultrasound or having a blood test.
If the doctor could not say with certainty, strangers on the internet who have no medical training will not be able to either. I have to take your word for it that those are, in fact, pictures of your kid's crotch, because I have no idea what I'm looking at.
Thanks for the feedback! I thought maybe some other parents could give me some input based on their ultrasound pictures at this time and if they ended up with a boy or girl. My doctor seemed confident he could determine sex at the time so I was unaware that it’s actually pretty difficult to do so. I’m sure there are plenty of sonographers and experts on the internet, especially on a platform like this one. Yes, you do have to take my word for it because there’s no reason for me to share someone else’s. Overall, I’m just excited and was hoping to gain some opinions. I’ll hopefully find out for sure at the next ultrasound I have.
Honestly posts like these don’t go over well because: 1: You posted your child’s genitalia on the internet on a public forum which will stay up forever. 2: People who are sonographers don’t really want to do their job for strangers when they are at home.

I'm a little confused. You said "the doctor seemed confident he could determine sex," but in your post, you said he thought boy but also maybe girl. Which is it? If he's confident, why don't you trust him as someone trained to look at these?
As to the first bolded, that's not going to be reliable at all! You probably will get answers both ways. And to your second bolded, I think you may be vastly overestimating how much people want to do their day job in their free time. In my time on these boards, I think I've seen maybe one person who identified themselves as a sonographer and maybe two or three more who actively worked in obstetrics/midwifery. And they were participants on BMBs. They didn't go around analyzing everyone's ultrasounds.

I agree with all the above!
