  • EDD/weeks+days: November 11  :) // 7W6D

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out but maybe not telling anyone

Baby is the size of a(n): headphone earbud  :D (Blueberry)

Upcoming appointments: Well...my in-person visit for Wed. (4/1) changed to a telephone visit. No clue when they are going to schedule my prenatal visit for u/s, pap, testing, etc... Besides a urine test that I asked them to do the last time I randomly went to the doctor for other issues, I haven't had any formal confirmation  :'(

How are you feeling?: Quite fine actually, minus the anxiety of not knowing if things are progressing okay. Minimal symptoms - sore boobs and strong sense of smell, some bloating and bad gas. Anxious with not having an in-person visit any time soon - with the lack of symptoms, it concerns me but trying to stay positive!

Raves: Went for a 5K run on Saturday and felt really good during it. I mostly just wanted to get out of the house for a bit and was surprised that I ran so well. Rant: Same as last week - understanding about the extra precaution but frustrated that it's messing with the normal expectations of this FTM experience

Questions: What are y'all's take on the at home dopplers? I know baby bean is too small right now to find anything but maybe for in the future?

GTKY: If you could have any job what would it be?: I think I'd own a bakery/coffee shop and do the baking myself. I used to LOVE Ace of Cakes (but did not like Cake Boss - he's too much)

  • @lovelee3 I bought the “hear my baby heartbeat app” for $5 with my last one. You use your iPhone to hear it and it claims to only work when your further along... however I never was able to get it to work.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out!

Baby is the size of a(n): Blueberry

Upcoming appointments: April 14...praying I will actually be able to be seen.

How are you feeling? Terrible...nausea, fatigue, sore boobs, starving but feel sick halfway through eating, dizzy if I stand up to fast, bloated and sore boobs. Also pretty intense stretching pains off and on.

Raves/Rants: I had to go to the office at work on Friday to help collect tuition checks (we’ve were taking turns two at a time for shifts during the first 2 weeks when we were still charging tuition). It’s the first time I’ve really been out of the house for 2 weeks. Well my boss called me on Saturday, one of my coworkers has tested positive for coronavirus. And the kicker?? She was in the office the same day that I was!! So guess who is now quarantined? The coworker was tested on Tuesday, came to work Friday, and found out her results on Saturday. I am in complete disbelief that she would come to work and risk exposing everyone knowing that she was suspected of having the virus. I think the chances that I will catch it are extremely low: we weren’t there at the same time, I was very cautious about not touching anything and washing my hands a lot while I was there. Also, she had started showing symptoms on March 16 so it had been long enough that she might not be very contagious anymore. But to be safe I am staying home.

    Questions: none

GTKY: If you could have any job what would it be? The job I have now! Preschool teacher. Except it would be my own business in my own home with unlimited resources lol!
  • @lovelee3 I have been tempted in the past to get a home Doppler, but I never did. Others had warned that it can be tricky to find the heartbeat and it might end up making you even more worried rather than less. Also, I’m so sorry about your appointment. I’m so scared of that happening, how are they supposed to know that everything is developing properly and there’s only one embryo if they don’t give you an ultrasound?? Plus, the dating measurements get less accurate the further along you get. I hope they are able to see you soon!
  • @potofgolden hmm not sure I would trust a phone app. Sorry you never got it to work though.

@kitkatz1990 that’s really scary and also really frustrating about your coworker! I’m glad you were being careful the whole time, but that’s still really alarming to hear. I’m sure everything will be good for you, but if you notice any symptoms, don’t wait to be tested before they get bad. I’m thinking about getting the Doppler maybe at 10 weeks as long as I promise myself not to get to worked up over it. I know a couple of friends that have one so maybe I’ll talk to them once I start telling people. And also, thanks for the condolences. It’s not anyone’s fault that it got pushed, but it’s certainly frustrating for all the reasons you said! I wanna know if it’s single and how far along I truly am and MOST importantly - make sure everything is okay 😫

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green

Baby is the size of a(n): grape

    Upcoming appointments: April 8th

How are you feeling? Like an emotional rollercoaster. I totally cried over fried rice at 11pm 😂 also waves of nausea and sleepy

Raves/Rants: I just want to go running! But the pollen is horrible in NC right now and my allergies are raging.

    Questions: None right now 😊

GTKY: If you could have any job what would it be?
The one I have! WAHM teaching ESL. 💜
  • @lovelee3 I have a doppler I got from amazon and it worked wonderfully with my DD! I could hear her around 16 weeks I think?

@kitkatz1990 I am so sorry that happened! Prayers that you don’t catch anything and that your coworker feels better asap! 💜
  • @kitkatz1990 that makes me 😡 for you that she came to work while awaiting test results.

    @1MommyRunner what Doppler is it?

  • EDD/weeks+days: November 11  7W6D

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): Keyboard key

Upcoming appointments: Thursday 4/2. I called this morning to get more info. It was a good thing I did. I was not scheduled for a U/S; now I’ll get one.
I was told I had to come by myself and I’ll get temped at the door. I’m hate the DH won’t be there. I had a m/c the first time I was pregnant. We got to hear the sweet beats on the first u/s. And 4 weeks later there were no sweet beats. I need him for emotional support and what if it’s our only opportunity.

How are you feeling?: Tired/ Nauseous and wave a of raging pms. Also, super distracted.

Raves: This may be the best time to be pregnant. Allowed to work from home, don’t have to make excuses why I’m not drinking, it’s making hiding the pregnancy a lot easier. Rant: I work at a CPA firm doing taxes. Our deadline was moved to July, but we are still expected to work overtime right now. Why?

Questions: How is y’all’s work situation going?

GTKY: If you could have any job what would it be?:  I would love to be like a Guy Fieri. A food critic and help promote great restaurants. .. idk maybe I’m just hungry 😂
  • @kitkatz1990 I am so sorry to hear that. People are stupid and careless, that's been my rant ever since this virus showed up! Praying 🙏 everything is ok with you.

@lovelee3 such a bummer that your in person appointment changed to a call 😤😡Luckily I got to go to mine last week and I know how anxious you could be! I have my first trimester one coming up 4/29 so we'll see if it happens.
  • EDD/weeks+days: 11/12 7D5W estimated, u/s showed me 2 days ahead

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding Out, but we want to have a surprise reveal

Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry

Upcoming appointments: 4/29 first trimester u/s

How are you feeling? Like crap 🤣 Extreme nausea, worsened by my prenatals; exhaustion; food aversion; supersonic smell - can't tolerate any hand cream, hand soap, even my puppy stinks and makes me gag 🤢😳; bloating and so much gas.

Raves: I guess I am grateful that I get to work from home as I am going through this first trimester. Makes it so much easier /Rant: Stupid people don't take this pandemic seriously (including our leaders of the country) and are making this worse.
    EDD/weeks+days:

Questions: How supportive are you DHs? Mine is on and off and it's so annoying that he expects me sometimes to act normal/do things as before and I am tired of explaining how exhausted and nauseated I am.

GTKY: If you could have any job what would it be? Real Estate mogul - working on it for real as well

@1MommyRunner girl I feel you on the pollen!! It’s bad here in SC too. MH and DD have pretty bad allergies and are fairly miserable right now. Makes me not want to take the kids outside to play even though I need them to RUN FOR THE LOVE OF GOD lol

@potofgolden thanks, I am pretty 😡 too! I am super pissed on behalf of one of our other coworkers, who she also needlessly exposed. This poor girl was 36 weeks pregnant, she called her OB and they had her come in right away to be tested. While she was there they took her blood pressure and determined that baby needed to come out right then, and she is not allowed to see her baby until her test results come back. If I were her I would have a difficult time forgiving the coworker who recklessly exposed her. That is precious time that she can’t get back. Makes me sick to think about.

@pinky111220 I agree, many are not taking it seriously at all. So frustrating. As far as DH goes, this is probably the best he’s been in all 3 pregnancies. He has been really taking care of me, getting me ginger candies and tea to help me feel better, making me things to eat that I can actually handle, stepping up with housework (even though I’m the one that’s home all day and he is still working). He was doing research on his phone about morning sickness and how to help alleviate it and it’s just the most precious thing ever, lol. He works night shift and has been coming home in the morning and staying up with the kids for a little while to let me get some extra sleep. He’s awesome. As far as your DH, he probably just has no clue how much work your body is doing. Send him some articles about how much work your body is doing right now developing the babies brain and other major systems to help him understand better.
  • @kitkatz1990 how awful for your coworker. I can not imagine. My sister is due June 2nd and she works at BAMC the military hospital in San Antonio where they first started taking the Covid patients in the US.  She doesn’t work with patients she is in the medical logistics department.  Yesterday police escorted a covid patient down the hall as she was walking by.  Today, they finally decided today that it wasn’t safe for her to be there and she could go home. They released all the over 60 and diabetics weeks ago, but since CDC has not made a ruling on pregnancy they would not let her go home.
And as of now the plan is for her to have the baby at that hospital.... hopefully this will change. It’s rare to have deliveries there.

@pinky111220 I thought my husband was being wonderful until I saw how great @kitkatz1990 has it. Haha. No, DH is pretty good, but I don’t think it has set in that we are pregnant again. I think things will change once he gets to go to an appointment or I’m showing. Hopefully, our DH get to come with us to the appts soon.

    EDD/weeks+days:  11/12 so 7 weeks 7 days

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out - blood work will be at 12 week appointment since they want to limit people coming in so I can't go at 10 weeks just for blood draw

Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry

Upcoming appointments: US next Monday; first appointment was this past Monday - blood draw and go over initial stuff. My CNM said we don't know what will be happening in November so not to worry because we'll face it together and there will likely be adjustments along the way.  Also, I'm AMA this time, which she said not to worry about. It'll just mean a bit more monitoring, which my 2nd was measuring 2 weeks ahead and I had promordal labor so she said I might not even notice the difference because we did more monitoring with him.  Also, she told me the main thing is to stay home, wash hands, and avoid touching my face. She said I won't be able to avoid all risks but avoid as many as I can.

How are you feeling? I'm remembering how much I don't enjoy being pregnant. Feeling awful for 9 months, being nauseous all the time, and difficulty moving around because then I start to vomit. Being either cold or hot but never feeling comfortable. This time I'm also light-headed and last week called my doctor because I was getting light headed just sitting down. I'm having to just lay down as much as possible which makes it hard to get anything done. I basically just get the needs of my children met and do laying down play. My house is already a disaster.

Raves/Rants: see above how I'm feeling for rant. Rave is that my husband is amazing and takes on so many additional duties while I'm pregnant.

    Questions: none

GTKY: If you could have any job what would it be?  I'm not sure actually. Trying to figure that out 😂

@lovelee3 I personally stay away from the at-home Doppler. I think it would be too worrisome if I couldn't find a heartbeat and it would probably be because it doesn't work well or I couldn't find it. I'd rather wait for my doctor appointments to hear the heartbeat.

@kitkatz1990 I feel so awful for your co-worker. I hope they get her test results quickly and she is negative. I can't believe people will be waiting for a test yet still go out.
  • @kelk5 thank goodness her results came back negative and her and her husband were able to see the baby today! I can’t imagine how stressful this has all been for her, and to have a preemie baby in the hospital right now has to be very scary. I hope by the time our due dates come around, this has all gone away.
  • @potofgolden it is by Facelake. The model number is JPD-100B 😊

@kitkatz1990 I totally opened the backdoor today and told them to go 😂 SO MUCH ENERGY! Thankfully we have a fenced in backyard so they can do some laps when needed.
  • @1MommyRunner  yes!! We have a fenced in back yard too, and it actually is on an incline so I’ve been making them run up and down the hill 😂😂
  • EDD/weeks+days: Nov 14/ 7w5d

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green

Baby is the size of a(n): gummy bear

Upcoming appointments: Still haven't scheduled. Should probably do that soon. But I imagine it will be around the 12 week mark so very end of April or beginning of May.

How are you feeling? Pretty stressed out. I blame part of this on pregnancy hormones, part on being home alone with a whiny 1 year old, and part of it on my own tendency to like to plan ahead, something that really doesn't work well in the current situation. We broke down and told both sets of grandparents a few days ago. I'm still not sure it was the right call. I of course worry about having to later deliver bad news. But on the other hand, it was becoming incredibly stressful to not be able to explain just why we were so stressed out to begin with! It's a madness!

Raves/Rants: My husband is still going in to work (him and his dad, family business) and everyone else is now working from home. This is resulting in him actually just doing a lot more work during the day and even coming in early and staying late some days. Add on top of that his mom coming in randomly every day (she can be a...um...point of tension for DH), and he's typically coming home completely worn out. And here I am exhausted by DS and the pregnancy and needing at the very least some adult conversation, let alone actual help, and I can tell that he barely has anything to give. It's tough. I don't want to push him because I know that none of it is him making this extra work, but I also really need help too. Ugh.

    Questions: None really.

GTKY: If you could have any job what would it be? My old job as an academic librarian that I gave up to stay home with my son. Seriously, it was a dream job. Not only the career, but that specific library and group of people. I still really miss it and it's been over a year.

@lovelee3 - I would second staying away from home dopplers. I think they have a patchy history of working, not to mention the skill that it takes for most doctors to locate heart beats with the professional grade ones (they make it look so easy!) I personally think they increase the risk for false alarm than provide real reassurance. Plus, once you can start to feel the baby move, that's the best reassurance you can get and that covers pretty much a full half of pregnancy leaving the window for home dopplers being helpful pretty slim.

@kelk5 I second everything you said about remembering how bad pregnancy can be. It hadn't been that long for me, so I felt like the memories were still pretty fresh and unjaded by nostalgia. But even so, man, it's still bad. DH and I have agreed on only two, so most of what's getting me through this right now is the fact that it's the last time I'll have to go through it!
