Back home from my AS ultrasound and doctors appointment. Everything is looking great. She is measuring three days smaller and because of her position they couldn't measure the heart. Another ultrasound scheduled in four weeks. I am so excited! Thanks again for your support. It means a lot!
@roo_baby I am so sorry, girl. We're all in your corner and are thinking of you. Sending so many hugs and well-wishes. Feel better soon.
Can I just say how thankful I am for this little online community today? I realize we don't really KNOW each other, but having a space to come and talk with other ladies during this confusing, scary time to be pregnant has helped me exponentially.
@roo_baby I'm so sorry you caught it I hope you feel better soon! Thanks for the advice you gave.
I hear you guys on falling out of a schedule. On Monday this week I decided "okay. My daughter still needs to brush her teeth and hair in the morning before we go downstairs. And we need to make our beds." It's pretty sad that just doing those was adding a lot more morning structure to our quarantine 🤣 I did order some more maternity yoga pants and sweats since most of what I had for DD was work clothes and shorts, but of which I don't need at the moment.

@lachnessmomster Yes, absolutely! I'm so thankful for this community and was thinking about that over this past weekend. At least we are in this together and it will bring us closer.

I am so exhausted today. I barely slept last night. I may need to take a nap today. Fortunately, my "office" has a bed in it as it's our guest room The night before I didn't sleep great either. I hope this isn't becoming a new pattern for me. My pg pillow should come tomorrow and hoping that will help!
Guys... MH ordered a bidet attachment for our toilet to conserve on tp use and it comes in today. Not gunna lie, I'm pretty excited for it lol.

@roo_baby I am so incredibly sorry to hear you have it. And hoping for a speedy recovery. How many days have you been sick? FYI according to studies my colleagues have sent me day 10-12 have been the peak for those who have severe, ICU related illness, so take good care of yourself and be on the lookout for any worsening at that point. Your tips and comments are incredibly spot on; great advice (coming from a PA) so thanks thanks thanks for sharing.
@ziggymama06 you’ll never look back! My h is Arab and I lived for 8 years In the Middle East where they are standard in every house and everywhere you go. We got one for our bathroom in our house and I love it.

@sarah0985 Wow, that is so interesting! MH and I have taken a few trips to Vegas and when we were upgraded to a suite there was a heated bidet (seat and water) with a blow dry feature, lol... Ours isn't that fancy, but one day I will have that heated seat!! It was so nice in the MON!

@roo_baby I’m so sorry you’re having to go through all this- especially pregnant. Thank you for the words of wisdom. Hang in there- thinking of you and baby. ❤️
@ziggymama06 ours is definitely not heated and no dryer...I WISH! But I absolutely loved it for post partum with my daughter. Just used a little toilet paper to dab dry. We have the handheld hose so easy to control where it’s spraying. I’ve never used one that was attached to the toilet.

@maelove I’ve lost track of the days, but it’s been about 2 weeks since my first symptoms so I should be through the worst of it. From what I’ve read, it’s typically about a 3 week recovery if you recover. I still have to be really careful not to exert myself or I get a lot worse. And by exert myself, I mean walking up a flight of stairs, nothing actually strenuous. It’s really hard with a toddler who has realized I can’t chase after her right now, but for the most part she’s been very cooperative and loving all the screen time.
My mini washer came today, I ran a maiden load.. they are currently hanging to dry (it has a spin cycle but not a full air/heated dryer situation) but I'll be honest they are already heaps better than I could "wring them out" after hand washing and I suspect they will be completely dry in an hour or two tops.. also they smell clean.. I never got that clean smell hand washing anything and these legit smell nice and clean. I'm pleased. The entire load took just under an hour to do.. and that's with having to learn to operate the machine as I went so future loads should only take about 40 minutes. Today has been good. I kind of wanna order a clothes line for my balcony so I can hang things outside without having to drag my rack around... it's getting sunny and warm here. I know we're all stuck at home but in a way the arrival of this washer made things feel normal today.
That is so exciting! @RedBaramid I just hand washed a jacket not that long ago that didn't come out smelling nice and I'm annoyed I have to re wash it. :/ I hope you continue to enjoy!!! 🤗🤗🤗
@roo_baby Glad it sounds like you're starting to be on the mend. ❤️ That's nice of your DD to let you take it easy, too.
I love my dog - she has been a very awesome quarantine companion, especially while my husband is at work. I just hope she realizes soon that there is a baby growing in my belly, because right now she still loves to be close and push her whole 65 lbs in my belly. She is always super confused when I have to push her away.
@RedBaramid yay for a washer! How life changing! @strawberryfields82 haha he does not look impressed. My lab would like to be a lap dog so bad- it’s not happening!
@ziggymama06 when I was in Japan every single toilet I used was heated and had a bidets. It was heaven. I never used the bidet feature in the public toilets, but in the hotel we did. I will say they did not have a “blow” feature on there. Or maybe they did and our app just didn’t translate it for us. My husband said that when we move all of our toilets must have one 😊

I'm going to AW and give some hope to others about the lack of feeling kicks. I'm finally feeling kicks at almost 22 weeks, I'm 21 + 5 today. My husband was able to feel ever so slightly pushes, but today I had my phone in my hand resting on my stomach and it literally got moved up by an inch! I guess I'm one of those people that don't feel kicks till the end of the range, 18-22 weeks, from what I have read. So if you are not feeling kicks yet, hold out hope that your turn is coming!

So we did naps all week in her own room, and tonight even ended up putting her down in there for overnight as well! 😯 Not sure how mom is supposed to sleep tonight for the first time not having her arms length away???? 😭😭😭😭😭😭
(Except for the one night she slept over at SILs, which we won't talk about).
Well, of course the nerves kept me up for a bit, but once the tiredness overtook me, I slept like a rock. Till 6. 😣 She woke up (but not crying) in a pitch black corner of her reading nook, so I went in and we snuggled and whatnot, but normally I would snuggle her back to sleep. That didn't happen. I'll have to teach her how to turn on the egg light or something, so if she wakes up she can turn it on, but then maybe one of those color coded toddler alarm clocks? The light stays red till 730. Don't get mommy up till it turns green! Lol @WishesSheCouldCook
@BusinessWife Nice job getting your little one into her own room! Whenever we start that transition, it's like a weight being lifted having my own space back. I love all of the snuggles, but man, it's nice not to sleep in one position all night long and wake up with back pain every day. Lol! It gets easier with subsequent children, too! This is the hardest part.
@BusinessWife I’ve heard parents really like those color coded clocks. My daughter has two night lights in her room. Now when she wakes up, she lifts her curtains to allow sun light in and plays for a little awhile. But trust me it’s not a long quiet play time, at least it’s something. I hope you adjust quickly and get some good sleep. We need all of the rest we can get.
Happy “weekend” ladies!!!

Spent about 4.5 hours last night in L&D with terrible cramping and a few strong contractions. Turns out that I developed a severe UTI in a short time span, since my urine on Monday was completely clear. I had to get IV antibiotics and they had me on the monitor to make sure i wasnt also going into labor. PGAL brain wasnt my friend and it took everything in me to stay in a semi-decent mindspace. I start oral antibiotics today as well in the hope that it will keep me clear. I have to go right back if I develop these issues again. The funny thing, was I had zero symptoms of a UTI, that had I not gone in, I would have never known and it could have ended very badly.
@wildrainbow how scary! Glad you had some kind of symptoms to alert you and get it taken care of! ❤️
Ooh! Teaching her how to do the blind is a great idea! I'm not sure she's quite strong enough yet, but she'll get there...
Thanks, @lachnessmomster @blackgirlmagic I would have started sooner, but DH kept fighting me on it. And honestly it's not that I mind at all, I just know it has to happen before this next one comes along. For the most part she was in her sidecar, so it didn't affect my sleep in that regard, but she has been starting to crawl up so she's halfway on our mattress, and I wonder if she might be ready for a pillow soonish.... I just want to make this transition first before I start introducing too many new things.
The main thing is that our bedtime routine just takes so. Long. I mean I could be up there for hours, and I can't very well just walk away until she's really out, because she would just crawl through the pillow barricade and possibly fall off the bed! 😣 So at least this way if she crawls out of bed, she can do what she wants and not get hurt. 🤷 And learn to self-sooth a bit better (she never had a problem going down at daycare), but MOMMY. 🤦 Lol
Right now I am leaning towards get the bigger (crib size) mattress first for a bigger floorbed. Then a convertible crib, (possibly the same brand as the mini crib we have, possibly one with a drawer, I'm torn), but set up as a toddler bed from the jump. Then once this baby is big enough to move into the room with her, we maybe could do it sooner with the second in the mini crib (with all four walls, or mini floorbed) and DD still in her toddler bed, or new baby in the toddler bed, and DD in the twin (which the mini crib converts into).
If we are lucky enough to have a third, that throws a wrench into it, but I'm confident we can figure something out... Even if it's just twin floor bed, toddler bed, and keep the sidecar for the third? that would be fine, or graduate somebody up to a full size floor bed sooner too, I don't know. 🤷 But starting the transition was the first thing, and then the bigger mattress, and the rest can get sorted as we go.
@BusinessWife we have the hatch and we set it to a certain color and song so DS1 knows it's ok to be up. He would wait outside our bedroom door or bust into our room or play in the bathroom near our room before we got it. Now he knows, he can go back to his room to play quietly (reads books) until it goes off. He also still has his lullaby song and night light through the hatch. It's been our best investment yet.
@pengy16 which version do you have? I'm trying to decide if I should put the regular one of the Hatch+ on my registry. I'm glad to hear it's worked well for you!
Not sure if it factors into your decision or not @rivercitynik but I didn't want any wifi baby devices. I found a more basic one that looks cute, shaped like a star! I will probably go with that. I intentionally chose a non-wifi monitor as well. 🤷
@BusinessWife Sounds like you've got a good game plan going! My FIL built us a little sidecar crib that I always intend to use, but more often than not, baby ends up next to me for easier nursing. Once they grow out of that, they just move to a Pack N Play. We never purchased a crib of any kind, mostly due to space limitations at our old place. We simply didn't have the storage for all this stuff once we were done using it! I had a super cheap mattress for the Pack N Play that DS used, but I replaced it for a comfier one and fresh sheets for DD. It's the appropriate size, so no gaps. When she's done with that, there's a bunk bed waiting. DS will move to the top, DD will sleep on the bottom. Then the new baby will be the tie breaker. If it's a boy, he'll eventually move into DS's room, and DD will get her own room, or vice versa. We have a full-sized guest bed that a big kid can have, so I think we're all set with sleeping arrangements. Unless there's a fourth...
I woke up this morning to the smell of bacon! MH made me bacon and breakfast tacos, since we finally got tortillas in our grocery delivery yesterday. Thx @emiliadkay for getting me hooked on breakfast tacos 😘
Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend.

I feel like my days all look the same, it's hard to find something noteworthy to share! My husband is outside doing yard work which is a nice sound. Reminds of summertime. I'm so excited to get our furniture in the backyard set up so we can enjoy the warmer weather and lighter evenings. It will hopefully make us feel less cooped up.
I hit 20 weeks today, and Wednesday is my A/S. I got scared the OB called me Friday and it turns out the sonographer that works primarily at my usual office will be off on Wednesday so they asked me if I would mind rotating to another office since they really want to get me in during my 20th week. Luckily this office is just about the same distance just a slightly different direction and the Midwives and Doctors rotate at the different locations so it's not like I'm going to be meeting with people who I wouldn't otherwise potentially meet. I am getting REALLY hyped to find out what kind of junk this baby is rocking and I think I am leaning towards hope for a boy, but only because that's what DD is convinced it is. Otherwise it'd be nice if this were a girl because we have that name completely picked out and it feels right. I've had a couple very vivid "it's a boy" dreams but I had those with my first pregnancy up until the night before the A/S and that night I had my first "it's a girl" dream and boom that was the money. I haven't been feeling very excited to be pregnant lately so it's kind of nice to feel excited right now.
Other than that, our area is experiencing nearly record high pollen amounts and I went outside earlier to take some video to send some friends back in the midwest of all the GREEN that is covering our parking lot and cars. I sneezed about 20 times in the 10 minutes I spent outside.
I am annoyed so this is mostly a rant. DH BF wants to be too involved in our pregnancy. He was already asking the gender based questions and all before we knew what we were having. The ones I have been not wanting to deal with (will you be disappointed if it's not a girl, will you try again if you get another boy). Well now he is trying to get DH to name the baby after DH. DH is already a jr so the baby would be 3rd. We discussed that option when I was pregnant with DS1 but we decided against it. If DH wanted that option he should have done it the first round. Now its completely off the table. Mostly because when we discussed it with DS1, we were adamantly opposed to giving the baby the same name. There are complications that come down the line as the child gets older (bill collectors dont care if you are Sr or Jr they harass either one) plus its confusing with 2 peole with the same name in the same house (how do you differentiate who is who). DH dealt with it first hand and did not want another kid to go through the same thing. DH BF named his son after him (kid is Jr) so he is pushing DH to name our next boy the 3rd. DH joked he could call him 3 but it never made our list of names. Now this friend is going around telling everyone we plan to name the baby the 3rd. NO! Now everyone will start bugging us about the baby name or will start calling him the 3rd even though that is not his name. (We are still deciding but we have narrowed down the list without that name on the list). Like with DS1 we named him Eli. Everyone assumed it should be Elijah so they started to refer him as Jah since we didn't give him the full name. After DS1 was born now they call him E instead. We named him Eli. Not Elijah, Jah or E. Plus why are you shortening an already short name? Like I said it's mostly a rant but I am annoyed that we just announced it's a boy and now everyone wants to name/rename him for us like they did with DS1. It's our choice not theirs.
Oh but that is annoying @pengy16 DH already said he did not want a III if we have a boy, so that's been off the table since forever. How buddy sounds annoying AF, if you ask me! Lol I mean honestly. I don't know how I would find the patience for that, except just to ignore as much as possible and if it comes up, just totally deadpan, "thats NOT the baby's name." I'm sorry you're dealing with that.
