Anyone else cursing daylight savings time today? DS actually did just fine, but DH and I stayed up an hour past our bed time watching Love Is Blind and are suffering today. I remember how horrible the time changes were when DS was younger, so I’m feeling for all you moms with younger kids!
I can't tell if it's the time change that has us out of sorts or the recently restarting nightly nightmare panics my DD has gotten into. At least once per night for the last 5 nights she runs out of her bedroom bawling looking for us right now and I wish I understood what's bothering her. She gets NO exposure to the news and is therefore completely oblivious to any panic happening in the world at large and we tend not to talk about those things in front of her at all anyway. We've not been watching spooky cartoons and she's not had the opportunity to find anything even remotely spooky on the Youtube kids app as she hasn't had the tablet in over 2 weeks at this point. My heart is breaking for her and I'm at a loss. Also I need a nap.
Had me to the list of those feeling the changes of daylight savings. 🙋🏼♀️
I had a crazy weird dizzy spell this morning, almost like a out of body kind of feeling. Quite bizarre. I’ve been feeling pressure in my pelvic area all day today, so that’s uncomfortable. I had a dentist appointment this afternoon and 2hrs later I’m still numb 😫.
I’m currently warming up some yummy soup I made a couple nights ago and planning an early night to bed!
Sorry I’ve been mia ladies. This app seriously sucks and this is a response I got today:
Considering that I’m still having the exact same issues and my app is update to the most recent update they have released, I call bullshit. This is seriously a great community but such a shitty app.
Anyways, I hope your little ones, and yourself, are adjusting to the time change. We actually did pretty well, which I’m shocked by. But let’s see how tonight plays out.

My children are/were cranky, but I don't think it's as much due to time change as it is we had a very busy weekend. And, of course, the changes always occur on Saturday/Sunday, which are the days with the most routine disruption due to Daddy not working, events, visiting friends and/or church.
Today, they both took seriously long naps (D1 doesn't often take them anymore, just has quiet time with toys, even though I tend to think she still needs them), so I hope that helps.
@blackgirlmagic I’ve been having nothing but issues since I joined, with the app and mobile browser. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to delete the app and reinstall.
@ziggymama06@blackgirlmagic annoyingly turning off the wifi is the only way I can get the mobile browser to work for me. It kind of explains why the website works on my work computer (hardwired connection) and doesn't work on my laptop (wifi). it's super annoying!
my university has gone completely virtual after spring break. They are encouraging students who go home for break to just stay home. They will re-evaluate in mid-April, but I suspect it will just end up being virtual for the rest of the semester. wild times....
@ziggymama06 I feel like the Bump needs to pay some of my cell phone bill if they want me to use my data to use their app. And for me, it doesn't always work when my wifi is turned off.

I want an over-sized fluffy bath robe guys. I know we're approaching spring time here but I'm always cold and I just realized the only robe I have is a slinky silky black one. My birthday is Monday next week can one of yall find a way to plant it into my husband's brain that I want a fluffy bath robe?
Ds1 woke up this morning puking. His fever seems to be gone, but now he's puking. I think it's sinus drainage. He has a super sensitive gag reflex, so I'm not surprised. I just didnt want to have wash sheets this morning.
It's raining here. Again. At this point I think we will just have every river flooded for the rest of forever. We had 4 sunny days in a row and it's supposed to rain for the rest of week. I'm so tired of it.
@fitandnerdy I think online classes for the remainder of the semester is the direction that a lot of the colleges are going in! It really is wild. Will that have a big impact on your classes?
@wildrainbow Sorry about the sickness. I hope he starts feeling better soon!
I had a professional development day so rather than going into school, I stayed close to home for a meeting. It was nice to mix it up and I got to sleep in a little. My husband handled daycare drop off and pick up today so I am taking advantage of the opportunity to get an oil change without wrangling a toddler. Feels good to get this checked off my to do list AND gives me a little me time to sit and scroll through my phone while I wait.
@RedBaramid That sounds like a great present. I love a good dressing gown. I've got 3, one warm fleece one, one toweling one for when I get out the shower and one jersey one which is great for the summer and I'll probably pack in my hospital bag too. They have mainly been given to me as gifts, hence why I have so many.
Guys, I finally did it. Went through 5+ overflowing bins of clothes the kids have outgrown and organized them by size, boy/girl, and have four bags ready to donate. I even found some forgotten maternity clothes and diapers that DS never used that are now the perfect size for DD. Everybody wins! Feels so good to clear the clutter. Spring cleaning is my love language.
Nice job! @lachnessmomster I have all of her little baby stuff sorted in the attic already, but the pile of 9-12ish + some 18m is getting real. I need to swap in the rest of her 24m + 2t so badly... :# BY THE END OF THE WEEK! Thing is I kinda need to pull it all out and reorganize the whole dresser while I'm at it, pretty much. :/
Well give my kid a seat on the struggle bus. She's been falling asleep way late, and then I'm having to drag her out of bed in the morning just so we don't totally get off our whole routine. Yesterday she fell asleep in her high chair after lunch! poor baby.
So, even though I was up late last night watching The Bachelor finale (Bachelor nation friends, was that a wild ride or what??), I was up super early this am thinking about coronavirus and my upcoming travel plans and I noticed something interesting I wanted to share!
My provider had mentioned that I should keep an eye on ACOGs (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) website for their guidance around travel and so I was looking at it this morning and noticed they have their big annual meeting happening in Seattle in April. As of today are continuing to say that the conference is happening. As someone who just cancelled a large conference (and w/o giving too much personal information away, I work for a national health organization), I know that cancelling conferences is a tough decision b/c they are not easily rescheduled and it can be quite costly to do so. That said, it was important to us not to ask providers who work with vulnerable populations to travel to a place where they may risk exposure. ACOG is a reputable organization, but it still makes me wonder if their measured guidance around travel is at all colored by their decision to hold their conference and to not have two conflicting messages out there. I do realize this makes me sound like a conspiracy theorist lol, so I was a little hesitant to post, but I do feel like this gives me more information as I consider whether or not I'm comfortable traveling in the next month or so.
@riatortillaxo I think it will have a medium impact! I just TA for a class, so I don't do the lecturing but I have 2 weekly classes where I review the course material and other random things, so that will be all moving online for me. Office Hours will be interesting because it's usually students showing me their code and me trying to help them figure out why it's not working... I'm not sure how that will work virtually just yet. In general I feel bad for the students because it's a very expensive university and the quality of instruction is sure to be lower, but I guess universities are trying to be proactive and stay ahead of this.
@lachnessmomster de-cluttering is quite the process but it feels good to get organized
@ziggymama06 I know in the check-in, I believe that was the place, you said that you were going to set up the crib to help stage the guest room. I would suggest that if you already have a bed set in that room, I would leave it be or find another way to stage it. Depending on the crib you get, it can be a lot of work to put up, just to take it down again in a couple of weeks.

@riatortillaxo Glad you had a productive day and didn't need to go all the way into the office. I need my oil changed too, but am putting it off lol
@lachnessmomster Yay for going through and organizing all the clothes! That must feel so good! I love organization, just don't have enough time/energy
@BusinessWife Aww, poor thing. Hoping today and this week gets easier for her. I'm struggling too with the time change and usually take close to two weeks for me to adjust, ugh.
@rivercitynik When is the next trip you have scheduled? That is very interesting and I totally see where you are coming from. It's strange times we are living in now. I tend to agree that organizations can/tend to have their own agenda which may dictate the message they put out to the public. Stay well!
@fitandnerdy I'm glad you won't be too impacted and that they are being precautious with the health of the campus. It is tough that kids may be impacted as the quality of the instruction will decrease. Perhaps you guys can videochat?
@blackgirlmagic Thank you for much for the tip! Unfortunately, the room is completely empty right now with the exception of a spare dresser. So regardless, we will need to do something to stage the room. Our realtor mentioned bringing in one of those nicer inflatable type mattresses. I just read that the guys delivering the furniture will actually assemble it as well as it is included in the delivery fee! I think we may just leave them assembled and have movers take them in one piece rather than breaking them down again. I also want to be sure that the pieces don't arrive damaged.
AFM... I'm now working from home full-time. I spoke with my boss yesterday about the cases of covid near me and the state of emergency, etc. and he was totally cool with me working from home. He even pitched it to the team that it was his idea to send me home first to test it out. He's a great guy. Felt so bizarre leaving not knowing when I'll be returning!

I’m also wfh indefinitely. The whole office is, though it’s open if people want to go in and a few have. I haven’t told most of my team I’m pregnant yet, and I was beginning to run out of clothes that hide it, so I imagine by the time we come back I’ll be huge and people will be shocked. I just hope all of these closures really help to minimize the spread of the virus.
@lachnessmomster nice work! I started this yesterday and made it to at least dumping/dragging it all out...then got tired of it. Will have to revisit after some time away haha.
@rivercitynik the bachelor was def a wild ride. Yikes. I am left very much unsatisfied, but also ready to just move on from pilot pete and his journey haha.
We are still transitioning to this time change...I have been off of work since Sunday so there was no motivation for us to get on track right away but I am regretting it now. I do like this change more than the fall back one....that one sucks more in my opinion.
first two diagnosed cases of corona in my state are in my county and the county i work in, yay. No TP at costco or target when I went to get our normal (i havent stockpiled!) grocery shopping done. Cheers.
I'm very glad we did our normal paper products run a couple weeks ago. This stuff is just cray. And also that we are just home and don't have to worry too much about hand sanitizer, which I've heard is out of stock pretty much everywhere. Good ole fashioned hand washing and staying away from people, I am hoping will work wonders for us! Lol
But actually, I have been doing choir practice in the evenings and on the way to my MW appointment now, so not totally isolated...
Congratulations to the ladies who get to WFH now! I still don't have my FMLA paperwork all square, but I don't feel even a little bit bad about the timing of it all at this point. As far as I can see, I got getting while the going was good! :#
@ziggymama06@roo_baby (and any other ladies I missed!), congratulations on being able to work from home! I'm glad you're being given the best chance of staying healthy!
@maelove YOU'RE STRESSING ME OUT ABOUT THE TOILET PAPER. I just stocked up a bit, but now I'm feeling like I should go buy more!
@lachnessmomster I feel the same about the toilet paper! We have quite a bit. In a normal situation, we could go quite awhile before getting close to the end. Now I'm feeling the pressure to just get some more just because when will the toilet paper be restocked??
I work in a school district and they sent out the course of action in case COVID spreads here. Right now we have one case in the county. They will possibly be shutting down buildings that have had contact with someone who has COVID.
Is anyone changing travel plans? We are supposed to make the 15 hour drive to Florida next Saturday (22nd) for a 6 day beach beach vacation. I'm torn now.
Married July 2014 DD born June 2016 Second due August 2020 (team green!)
@samsonator I'm not sure if there are many cases where you are going but since you are driving, I think it will okay. Maybe just clean up the hotel or condo where you are staying and be mindful about going out. We are flying to Arizona in a few weeks and I am mostly worried about the plane. So many germs on a plane. As of now we are still going!
I also work in a school so working from home really isn't an option. We haven't heard anything official but I am getting ready in case we are asked to prepare work for students to do at home. There are no confirmed cases in our county but 3 in a county close by. Our union president is talking with administration to take a look at our contract and see how this will all work out. I'm not sure if we can just treat the time off like snow days, but then we will likely have to make them up at the end of the year. This is all so crazy!
So this morning I had the ultrasound of my liver and gallbladder to check for stones and blockages and guys OUCH. I know she was just trying to get good pictures but she was pressing on one of my ribs with that wand and it HURT. I was almost in tears it hurt so much. Lady was also not super nice, that didn't help. I won't know what the results are from this for a couple of days but given that Covid is very much so in my community I am hoping this is something that can be managed without surgery, the hospital is the very last place I want to be.
My husband's entire office is being instructed to work from home tomorrow as a "test run" but his boss said prepare for this "test run" to be something that leads to more working from home. We've had some schools near us close for cleaning after last week a teacher was taken out of a school on a stretcher, they tested positive for the virus. We're taking precautions very seriously. We're completely isolating except for my husband going to work when he's not working from home and him going out for supplies. My kid has stopped attending karate lessons, the I'm hoping the teachers understand that it's present in my community and that since I'm pregnant we aren't taking any risks, they've sent emails out talking about new rules they are enforcing and pollen and allergies are already in full swing here so we risk being sent home for the runny nose we have anyway. I feel a little bit crazy for locking us down as much as we have but I'd rather be able to say we're doing everything we can than risk one of us getting sick right now.
Oh boy, taken out on a stretcher!?? I'm glad DH is hanging out in the truck with DD while she sleeps... Just waiting for my blood draw in 3 more minutes.
But I'll be curious to see what the hospital policies are by the time we are ready to deliver. As of today, my hospital announced they will only allow one support person / visitor. We are not sure what they will say about the doulas yet, but they've closed the waiting rooms. No photographers, no other visitors until discharge. :#
Just found out that at least one of the COVID patients (if not both...we are still waiting on official confirmation) is currently here in the hospital I work. UGH. The hospital seems to be handling it well without chaos but super Jealous of those who get to WFH right about now!
@lachnessmomster Don't panic, im sorry! I think there are lots of places I can still order from. I was just taken by surprise to see it out at both of those locations!
I'm really not worried about COVID but with all this talk about WFH I want to get on board! I might see if my boss gives me the okay for at least a couple days out of the week! @RedBaramid why on a stretcher?! What happened??
@mrs_sheddy From what's gone public about it the teacher started suddenly experiencing extreme shortness of breath and at the time they thought maybe they were having a heart attack. News of the positive test for the virus came out Monday and they emergency closed schools in the entire district because this teacher had taught at 2 in the last week. Most of the schools in the district are going to reopen tomorrow I believe but the two that teacher had taught at are staying closed until March 20th. There's another nearby school shut down today due to a teacher having contact with a confirmed case, and a day care has closed due to a care provider having a confirmed case. It's clearly community spreading here but they keep telling everyone they are cases of "unknown origin." I live in a major metro area with an international airport I knew it was just a matter of time before it arrived, I just wish more people were doing what they could to minimize the spread. We can't stop people from catching it, but we can slow down the spread so our medical systems are not overwhelmed meaning we don't put doctors in the place where they are forced to make hard decisions about who they may or may not be able to save.
I feel like a crazy person... honestly. But I just want to do what's best for my family and my community and I am desperately hoping others do the same.
@RedBaramid That sucks about your ultrasound, I’m sorry! I’m sure teachers are being understanding about pulling kids out of things though. It’s officially a pandemic now, after all. I teach out of my home part-time, and I’m suspending all lessons until further notice at this point.
