Re: Wednesday Ticker Change 2/26

  • Estimated due date (EDD): 10/21

    Week of pregnancy: 6

    Upcoming Appointments: 3/17

Rant/Rave:  I'm holding my own independently at work this week with something I've trained for 4 years to do...and it feels really good!

Also, still no major symptoms which is great in most ways, but is really messing with my head.

Questions: How can I sleep past 5am?! My 5:30 alarm hasn't gone off in over a week because I am already up. I've been going to bed late-ish so I know it's not because I'm getting enough sleep!

GTKY: What is your dream vacation? Galapagos Islands--good mix of tropical and nerdy. I also want to see the northern lights but that's a different trip!

    Week of pregnancy: 5

    Upcoming Appointments: 3/19

Rant/Rave: I have started to notice that if I have coffee in the morning, I have more nausea and lightheadedness that day, so now I’m not having coffee at all, and that sucks with a 5 am wake up call.

    Questions: None today

GTKY: What is your dream vacation? Several weeks traveling around Europe

@carrotsandpeas3 Isn’t it such a nice feeling to finally be doing what you trained to do? And I can be no help on the sleep front as I have also been waking up around 3-4 most days. Today I was excited because I only woke up 15 minutes before my 5 am alarm!
  • Estimated due date (EDD): 10/7

    Week of pregnancy: 8!!

Upcoming Appointments: March 2nd I finally have my first appointment

Rant/Rave: I have been feeling sooo sick and my office only has two individual bathrooms...they’re trying to put in a third but our building is a historical landmark and so there’s all kinds of red tape. Not a fun time when I’m feeling a wave of nausea and both bathrooms are occupied...

Questions: I don’t think I have any right now... I feel so much more chill than when I was pregnant with my 1st.

GTKY: What is your dream vacation? This is tough... I would love to visit Ireland, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic (where my great-grandparents came from). Would also love to visit all of the international Disney parks!

@carrotsandpeas3 I am having the same problem... plus usually a bathroom break in the middle of the night.
  • @fitzfizz isn't it the worst!? I've been up by 4 most days, 4:45 today. DH is working until 10 this week, so it's just killing me because I either wait up for him or he wakes me up anyway. I have been really pushing that 200mg caffeine limit. 😬
  • Estimated due date (EDD): 10/7

    Week of pregnancy: 8

    Upcoming Appointments: 3/20

Rant/Rave: Today's my long day at work, with lunch duty and MCAS prep, and they threw in an assembly. I was tempted to crawl under my desk during prep.

Questions: Who have you told so far?

GTKY: What is your dream vacation? England and Scotland (going up into the highlands and islands)
  • Estimated due date (EDD): 10/21

    Week of pregnancy: 6

Upcoming Appointments: Not until March 6

Rant/Rave: Rant: People don’t know I’m pregnant at work. I work in an Emergency Room. Three times the x-ray tech tried to shoot portable x-rays with me standing right next to the patient. The third time I almost yelled at him, but I just ran out of the way. Rave: it’s my son’s 2nd birthday today! We had such a great morning starting with donuts, trip to the aquarium and then played trains until nap. I hope he will love being a big brother!

    Questions: None today.

GTKY: What is your dream vacation? Anywhere I won’t get coronavirus...jk. I’ve hit most of my bucket list before kids, but the big thing left is Australia/NZ. I’d love to take a month off and go. I guess that one will wait until the kids are a little older.

  • @carrotsandpeas3 I never found anything to help with sleeping better. I think it’s just cruel that pregnant women can’t sleep. That makes the sleep deprivation last for like a year and half or more depending on your little one’s sleeping habits. Even when I do sleep, I have the weirdest dreams and wake up feeling like I had zero sleep.

@homeport17 my husband knows, one of my best friends (though I assume she has told our other friends), and one of my partners at work b/c she’s pregnant and knows we have been trying. I’ll tell my mom after I get an US next week.
  • @mkp0903 I don't remember the sleep being this bad last time until I was 3rd tri huge! My first kid didn't sleep for the first year, so I have low hopes for the next one either.

@homeport17 I've told DH (lol), my sister, two good friends who knew I was trying, and my prior BMB. Will tell my parents and ILs once I have my ultrasound at 8 weeks. Will tell work and everyone else after my next appointment at 12 weeks.
  • @carrotsandpeas3 and @mkp0903 - I should probably tell my DH, shouldn't I? lol, jk. We told our parents and siblings after our appointment on Monday, our closest friends (who knew we were trying), and I gave my dept. head the news since we'll need to find a maternity leave sub.
  • @mkp0903 That's frightening that you have to worry about avoiding radiation on a daily basis!
