Re: Randoms 2/24-3/1

  • I don't get any notifications at all
Only if I have the app open and someone just mentioned me in a post. But to be honest, I don't think I know how to use this app well yet. I find it very confusing
  • Loading the player...
  • I've been away from my laptop, and therefore TB, for a couple days and I'm playing catch up on all of the threads. @shamrocandroll I also have a compulsive need to get rid of all of the notifications, I think I'll spend the next hour just reading through all of the comments.

  • I hate the yellow UNREAD flags. So I gotta open anything that says it and click on the link back to board below the reply box to make them go away. very annoying.

  • I hate the yellow flags, they're driving me crazy.
  • @rox7777 your nursery is cute. It looks nice and warm.
  • Love the idea of a nursery thread!
  • @rox7777 so cute! And I love that side table!
  • @pirateduck I second that!!
I third that  (nursery thread)

  • Soooo tired...I feel like I might fall asleep in my meeting this morning
  • @rox7777 the room is adorable!
  • Random question.  I have lots of questions today.  DH and I (and other family) got tdap with DD1 so about 2.5 years ago.  I know I need to get it again to pass some on to baby etc, but what are thoughts on DH getting again?  I think we discussed at last appointment with dr and he said not necessary because it's good for like 10 year or something, but is it a good idea since I think the tdap can start wearing off after a few years or is it pointless?
  • I've read it's unnecessary for people other than the birthing parent if others have gotten it in the last 10.

  • @bananapanda I would not make others get it again if they had it within 10 years unless they are getting really close to that 10 year cutoff and will be spending lots of time with baby.  My niece is 7 now and has younger siblings and I'm not asking anyone who got vaccinated when she was born (or more recently) to get revaccinated.  My doctor also said mom's get it no matter what while pregnant.
  • ok, I was leaning towards thinking DH didn't need it but he asked me again this morning when I mentioned that I need to get mine so figured I'd see what others are doing or have heard.  Seems like it's not needed for him.

This is what I've been told!

  • @bananapanda I got mine at my last OB appointment, and I made a point to confirm with her that the rest of our family is already covered from having it when DD1 was born.
  • @bananapanda my OBGYN told us with DD! (who just turned 5) that if those who would be around her hadn't had it in the 24 months prior to go ahead and get it again. She said studies showed the tetanus part was good for 7 years, but that the pertussis started losing efficacy earlier. I will have had 4 in 6 years when this LO is born. DH got one with DD2 in 2016, was still good for DD3 in 2018, and got a new one during this pregnancy for this LO.
(DH also works very closely with metal so it's not always a bad idea for him anyway. That's what he told people when they were like why are you getting that and not the flu shot?? This was before we announced)
  • What do you do when you lose medical bills? Mine seem to come from all sorts of different groups. Do you just wait until you get another one? I've currently lost my daughter's ER bill (from the hospital, not the doctor), my A/S bill from the doctor, and my A/S bill from the hospital...I suppose I could call the hospital at least about the ER bill and the hospital radiology bill.

  • @catem07 My usual bills come from the hospital and/or my practice and I have online accounts for those, so I don't really need the physical bills. But I have gotten separate bills from outside doctors, labs, and other stuff too. I haven't ever lost one of those extra type bills. But could you look if it has gone through your insurance yet... maybe you can find the contact for the doctor on there?

  • @catem07 I usually try to log into my online account to see if I can see & pay charges there.  If not, then I just wait for another one to come in the mail.  Alternately, since yours are coming from different groups, if you can log on to your insurance website (if you have insurance) all of totals you owe out of pocket will be there from all groups in the claims section.  Then you would just have to call the groups and figure out the billing address to send the money to, but you would have an accurate total.
  • I just checked my hospital account and no bills. They don't let you view statements online (hello 2005 called and wants their system back?). I think I'll just wait, it's only been one billing cycle so I don't think I'll be penalized. (Yes, I do know that from experience. I need a better system. The rest of my financial life is very well in-order, but I pay everything else via e-bills so it's a lot easier).

  • So my preschooler had two 3 day school weeks (due to weird school scheduling Institute Days) and now missed 3 days so far this week due to flu. I just need him out of my hair instead of whiny and fighting with his sister. Ick. He's been fever free for more than 24 hours, but still wasn't eating normal until today. I think I'm sending him tomorrow.

  • We went and got our new TV today, finally had a moment to do it and this has now made the living room need to rearranged, DF is going to kill me one of these days I swear.
  • I got my TDAP today around 11am and I already have a giant bruise at 9pm. The same thing happened after my glucose blood draw, but they haven’t mentioned anything about my iron levels.

Either way, my arm now hurts and I’ve been nauseous all day so I’m super cranky.
  • Just curious about heart rates and gender over here. I know it's an old wives tale, but still fun. All 3 of my girls heart rates were so different.

I am Team Green and baby's heart rate has consistently been 155 at appointments.

What have your baby's heart rates been and gender if you know?
  • I would say that so far (up to 28 weeks) my baby's HR has been consistently between 150 and 160 and it's a girl.  I was also told that normally the HR is higher when baby is smaller and as pregnancy progresses and baby grows HR will start to come down.  So I would think to compare apples to apples you'd have to be looking at HR at the same stage of pregnancy.
  • My girls have both had 150+ heart rates.
