2nd Trimester

First ultrasound

I’m 21 weeks. During my first ultrasound the baby was in a really crunched up fetal position and so they kept having me get up to move around to see if we could get baby to change positions, unfortunately the baby stayed in the same position making it tough to find out all the information they needed which is why they scheduled me for another one. During this ultrasound they had to keep tilting me down so the baby would maybe move more up into my belly as they kept mentioning that the baby is down low and near the cervix. Is this concerning at all?

Did the doctor reviewing your anatomy scan say it was concerning? Babies in funny positions for US’s is not uncommon.

  • @kileyb23 it's incredibly common to have to redo anatomy scans because of the baby's position.

  • I had to go back for a second anatomy scan because my LO wasn't in the proper positioning.  It didn't mean anything bad.
  • Happens all the time. A friend of mine had to go in for 3 AS ultrasounds just to get the measurements they needed. Frustrating, but needed.
