How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? - I’m honestly freaking out and wondering if I should have even tried to get pregnant. I know I’m high risk and I feel like it was so selfish to try to have another baby and potentially causing that baby harm because I can’t carry a pregnancy to term without intervention. This will be my first pregnancy getting a cerclage and I’m really hoping it’s the key to keeping this baby in full term. But if it’s not, I’ve potentially doomed this baby to a preterm birth. MH and I wanted another baby so bad that I think we only concentrated on the good things and not the potential bad things that could happen.

Any upcoming appointments? Viability scan on March 9

GTKY: What do you do for a living? - currently a SAHM but also a nurse and will be returning to nursing in about a year when we move back to the US

How far along are you: 4 and 1

my PGAL story: my first pregnancy ended in a mmc at 8 weeks, after we had seen the heartbeat. I started bleeding close to when I thought I was 12 weeks. I’ve had 3 successful pregnancies on progesterone supplements since then, although we don’t know if that was the cause.

    how are you feeling?
I'm a little blah. Just feeling numb getting through the days right now. My husband is out of town with my kids until later today and I work the next three days. No real symptoms right now.

upcoming appts: I have blood draws on Wednesday and friday.

what do you do for a living: I’m a mother/baby nurse and I also work at an oncology doctor’s office.

    How far along are you?
According to the OB appointment today, 5+3; more accurate ultrasound in two weeks

Share your PGAL story if you’d like or previously have not.

How are you feeling ((symptoms, mentally/emotionally))?
The nausea is getting worse. I got the okay from my OB to take Zofran whenever I’m struggling and have already taken the Bonjesta.
Mentally, I think I’m detached. I’m not excited really, but I’m not pessimistic either. Today was supposed to be an appointment to discuss fertility meds but with my BFP last week, we are all crossing all the things that this sticks. I had blood drawn today to check HCG and progesterone and I’ll go back Wednesday morning for the second one to see if everything is rising appropriately.

    Any upcoming appointments?
Wednesday for a second blood draw for doubling HCG and rising/appropriate levels for progesterone. Then another ultrasound 2 March since we couldn’t see anything today—not that I’m surprised. 5 weeks is just really early.

GTKY: What do you do for a living?
Stay at home mom. I used to work in retail and banking and someday I would love to finish my degree and possibly start a photography business.

@profmcgonagall I’m so sorry you have those doubts in your mind right now. I hope this pregnancy goes smoother than you fear. And even if baby gets an earlier start than we all want, this baby sounds so very wanted and loved. You are in England right? Anywhere near Suffolk?

@NME44 I hope your blood draws look good this week.

@dolewhipper I hope tomorrow is a great appointment for you!

@kboydbowman good luck with the intake forms and labs. I hope you have a reason to be a little more excited this week.

@kurtni we can countdown to appointments together since mine is a couple of days before yours.

Daughter was stillborn at 36 weeks for unknown reasons (in August 2014). Had a successful pregnancy with my son in 2015, then dealt with unexplained secondary infertility the past two years, then conceived naturally the cycle before we were supposed to start IVF. Now on lovenox and progesterone, and considered “high-risk”.

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)?
Symptoms were minimal today, which of course makes me anxious! Mostly just nervous. Sometimes light nausea, or sore boobs.

Any upcoming appointments? Ultrasound on 2/20 (having them weekly at the fertility specialist’s office).

GTKY: What do you do for a living?
I am a change management consultant. Was formerly a teacher and principal, but wanted to leave education- too burned out.

Share your PGAL story if you'd like, or previously have not. DS/First pregnancy was perfect... and I think back at how naive I was for that entire pregnancy! Because since then I’ve had two MMCs. First time we found heartbeat but then 4 days later at a better dating scan didn’t have one (at 9w4d). Had to have a manual vacuum aspiration. Second only found gestational sac with yolk sac remnants at 9w (but believed to have stopped around 5w). So I’m terrified now. I do feel slightly optimistic as all fertility testing was normal so the RE said likely just crappy chance/luck/statistics. I hoping that’s true and this pregnancy is our rainbow.

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? Just sore boobs and lethargy/fatigue.

Any upcoming appointments? Wednesday/tomorrow i have first HCG bloodwork, then recheck on Friday. If that’s looking good I’ll go in at 7w for a dating/viability scan.

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? Pretty mild symptoms so far. Mentally, I still don’t feel like it’s real, maybe I’m just trying to protect myself in case things don’t work out...I’m trying to stay calm about how I’m feeling and not worry about everything.

Any upcoming appointments? I had a blood draw to check my TSH level today, but the NP won’t be back until Thursday to give me the results! First real appointment is 3/24.

GTKY: What do you do for a living?  I’m a speech/language pathologist and I work primarily with children. After I had my son, I was fortunate to only have to go back to work part time so I’m only working Mondays and Wednesdays.

    How far along are you?
    5+4

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)?
With emotional stuff it's one step forwards and five steps backwards it seems.
I really wanted to conceive again (even though I stopped trying a few months ago and worked on the grief and being okay with not being able to have children) I struggled so much with my health issues and how my body wouldn't bounce back after the birth last year, it was so hard. Now that I have conceived I'm just overwhelmed with guilt and fear and I don't know why I ever thought I was fit to be a mother in the first place. I should be ecstatic since I got what I wanted and I love this baby, but instead I'm not and I don't know why because we were already prepared to be parents before, but I'm starting all over and I feel like a spoiled brat for mourning a change I wanted in the first place.
I also struggle with guilt that this baby will replace my stillborn daughter, that maybe I'll miss her less, maybe I'll forget to grieve her, and I'm terrified of that.

    upcoming appointments?

    Not yet!

GTKY: What do you do for a living?
I don't really have a career. I used to manage a hunter/jumper barn, and I've been a nanny more years than I haven't. I'd love to get a degree and work in marketing and product management, but realistically I always just find my way back to animals and babies wherever I am lol.

@mdfarmchick sending you a huge internet hug, I'm so sorry.

had 3 losses before my DS was born on July 2015. Then had my DD on March 2017. Last year experienced 2 losses, 2/28 (empty sac) and 11/27 (no heartbeat after 6 wks). DH and I decided we were not going to try any more. One cycle after my last loss I tested positive.

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)?
I'm very scared of what is going to happen. Trying not to get attached but still hoping for the best. I stopped taking my anxiety medication as soon as I found out, just to give this baby an extra push.

    Any upcoming appointments?
Switched OBGyn as I was attaching the losses to her office. (not realistic but it is giving me piece of mind). Scheduled for 3/2 at 3 pm. and it is so far away!

GTKY: What do you do for a living?
I work in education on the administration side.

How far along are you? 4w3d

Share your PGAL story if you'd like, or previously have not. I had a MC at 5w4d in December.

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? No symptoms really yet. I've had some stomach issues but I think that's due to the burrito I ate yesterday, not the pregnancy, hahaha. I've been extremely thirsty but that could just be a coincidence. I'm emotionally terrified, and it doesn't help that I have had nothing to do this weekend, so my mind has just been running in circles worrying about it. I have diagnosed anxiety in which I was medicated for but then got off the medication when I found out I was pregnant, so my anxiety is just through the roof now.

Any upcoming appointments? Pregnancy confirmation on March 3rd.

GTKY: What do you do for a living? I am a special education teacher for little ones with autism. My job definitely takes my mind off the worry during the week, I'm very busy! I love my job!
