Re: TTGP Grad Check-in 2/13

  • What's going on this week? It's almost vacation time!! I'm sad we're not going anywhere but also so excited to sip my half caf coffee on the couch in my pjs all week in the morning instead of going to work. Hopefully I'll get some organization for baby done.

How far along are you? 26+5

Upcoming appointments? 2/24 and I'll go for my 1-hr sometime next week, but it's just a lab, so no appointment needed.

Cravings/Symptoms? Pretty much same symptoms I've had. My emotions have felt a little more "emotional" lately. DD wanted to watch the Daniel Tiger episode the other day where baby Margaret is born (seen it 100xs) and I cried at the end...

Rants/Raves/Randoms? My classroom is moving and today is the first day I'm getting to unpack in the new room. I'm a little stubborn and hate asking for help with lifting. Basically everyone is moving so everyone has stuff to do so I feel jerky asking for more than 2 minutes of anyone's time. This morning I dragged a heavy box across the hall and then needed to sit a good 10 minutes...

  • @jrouge12 I'm so jealous you have vacation (spring break?) coming up. Coffee on the couch sounds heavenly.

What's going on this week? Not much. DD is sick again, so trying to take care of her and not touch her at the same time. It's not working out well - it's pretty much impossible not to cuddle a sick 3 year old.

How far along are you? 27 weeks today.

Upcoming appointments? MFM appt next Tuesday.

Cravings/Symptoms? I'm just over having to eat. Also, hemorrhoids and constipation suck.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? Really hoping I passed my 3 hr glucose test yesterday, but assuming I did, I'm curious to hear what my MFM thinks is the cause of the extra amniotic fluid baby girls has.

    Questions? Nope

@jrouge12 good luck with the move and enjoy your vacation!

@ruby696 I hope you passed and hopefully the sick kiddo feels better soon!

    What's going on this week?
Not much, we're having a small shower/potluck for a coworker of mine at work tomorrow, but she already went on maternity leave and I gave her a gift before she went out not realizing they were doing one for her. So all I have to bring is the chocolate dipped strawberries.

    How far along are you?
    27 weeks today!

    Upcoming appointments?
Ob appt and the end of this month, the 25th I think. We need to nail down a date for c-section so I cane give my boss some dates.

    Cravings/Symptoms?
Yogurt and granola. Omg I am obsessed! Add in some berries and craisins and it is the most amazing breakfast ever.

    Rants/Raves/Randoms?
I haven't been around much this week. DS has been struggling right now. His behavior is getting more aggressive and the tantrums are more frequent. We're working together with his teacher to give him coping mechanisms (foam roller, pressure, more signs to communicate stop and go away when people are too much for him) and they seem to be helping. I know a big part of the issue is that he's getting older and more and more frustrated that he can't communicate well, but unfortunately, his teacher says she's seen this type of behavior when kids have a new sibling on the way too. They know something is happening, but not what and they're confused.

    Questions?
  • What's going on this week? This work week has gone by soooo slow! Luckily I took off tomorrow so today is my Friday! DH and I are going to start packing up the office to get ready for DD's new room.

How far along are you? 27 weeks!

Upcoming appointments? Next Tuesday 18th for the glucose screening. I am nervous for it, since I had GD last time around. My gut is telling me I don't have it this time, but my head is saying it is still a possibility.

Cravings/Symptoms? Regular water hasn't been quenching my thirst so I've been adding lemon to it and it has been amazing! Occasionally I add some Real Salt for an electrolyte boost. Also ice cream!

Rants/Raves/Randoms? Sunday my cousin (who I am close with even though she is 9 years older than me) will be in town. Her oldest (10 or 11?) has some basketball games at a local school. She is going to drop off her youngest (3.5) to play with DD (3) in the morning. Then she will come over for lunch. I'm excited to get the kids together but nervous as her son is pretty wild, luckily DH will be home with us. I am really excited because she is bringing over bins of maternity clothes and baby boy clothes for me to go through! I love hand me downs.

Questions? Will we continue this thread in the PG?

  • @jrouge12 My emotions have been more crazy lately too. DD's daycare teacher left this week (we found out last Friday), Monday was her last day. Tuesday night I was asking DD about her day and she was a bit sad saying how she wanted to see her teacher again. I had to have DH take over because I could not stop tearing up!

@ruby696 I am sorry about the constipation woes. When do you find out your results?

@splashmountain I'm sorry about the struggles with your kiddo. I hope things keep progressing.

  • @ruby696 Not even spring break, February break. I'm in the Northeast and a lot of schools have this vacation but some have done away with it. I still get Spring Break in April, I'll definitely be in over drive prepping for baby then! I dont know about your DD but mine has a knack for sneezing in my face. FX you don't get sick and that you pass your 3-hour!

@splashmountain Chocolate strawberries sound soooooo yummy right now. Those sound like good coping strategies for your DS. I've been trying to do small changes to DDs routine so when baby comes it isn't an avalanche for her.

@m6agua Happy "Friday"! That sounds like a nice visit to look forward to with your cousin. I love water with lemon, but I'm worried it will be a heartburn trigger. Although I've just have normal small meals today and my HB is raging before noon. FX on your glucose test next week! Hopefully your DD adjusts to a new teacher. I feel so guilty I'll be leaving my students and they're in HS. I'm glad its towards the end of the year, so the disruption is minimal.
  • @jrouge12 Don't go too crazy with lifting!  I hope you're just about done and/or someone jumps in to help you!  Enjoy your vacation so much!  That sounds heavenly to me right now.

@ruby696 Boo for sick DD!  But yes, not much beats snuggling them when they don't feel great.  I suggest wearing a mask and using hand sanitizer and lysol as much as possible!  Hope it's just a quick bug!

@splashmountain Mmmmm I'd be thrilled with chocolate dipped strawberries!  In fact now I want some.  And some yogurt and granola with berries.  So Sorry YS is struggling, but I'm glad he has such a supportive teacher who is able to help him!

@m6agua Happy Friday!  I've been drinking so much lemon water!  Sometimes wild children are much better behaved when the parents aren't around or they're in an unfamiliar place, so hopefully he's good for you and they have fun!  Yay hand-me-downs!  And I would love to keep this check-in thread in the PG, personally!
