@kgrgreen@wildrainbow@blackgirlmagic Thank you girls. I was mildly panicking just because it was over a few days. The thing is that I normally drink ~80-100oz of water not pg... Years ago I forced myself to join the water wagon and now I'm just addicted. I can't imagine that I need to drink like 200 oz now?! I'm only 5'0 and not even exercising regularly now bc I have no energy.

@amgpg25 I took progesterone last pregnancy and I did not have morning sickness after stopping, but my doctor had me wean off. I went from taking it twice a day, to once a day, to once every 36 hours, to every other day, then not at all. And she had me do this in 3 day increments.
Its been 2 weeks since my big vomit day. I'm feeling slight better nausea wise. But I have the gross taste in my mouth where I have to force myself to eat bc everything seems gross. Only 2 more weeks in first tri, hoping all the food related symptoms go away soon.

@ziggymama06 I’m a water addict too! It’s literally all I drink and you’ll never catch me without my big Yeti tumbler filled with water.
ETA- I just saw you’re 5’. Hooray for another shortie! I’m 4’11”.
ETA 2- My nausea and food aversions are getting much better, so I’m starting to wean myself off Diclegis. My samples are about to run out anyway. The insomnia is still around, so I’ll need to stay on Unisom a little longer. Hooray for improvement and starting to feel more human again! I even had the energy to organize my coat closet yesterday and make dinner. 🙌
@babytimeagain I’ve given up on the unisom. It takes about two hours to kick in and then I’m drowsy the next day all day long. At least with insomnia I can wake up no problem for the most part and I don’t start to crash till about 4 for a couple hours and then I’m wide awake again.

Ok to those who have been complaining of insomnia - I truly felt bad for you guys but forgot HOW BAD IT IS!!!! I have a 10 month old who wakes up 1-3 times still every night and normally I have no problem getting right back to sleep after settling her. However over the last few nights I’ve noticed it takes me longer to get back to sleep....last night I didn’t get back to sleep at all! My daughter actually had a good a night, slept until 2:30am but once I got her back down at 2:45 I could not get back to sleep! I was still awake, tossing and turning, when she finally woke for good at 5:45 Thank god it was “my morning” to sleep in this weekend because I did finally go back to sleep from 6:30-8:30 while DH took the kids downstairs to play. Oh man. Other than that I was going to have to be functioning on 4 hrs of sleep today. It was just awful laying awake wanting desperately to sleep and knowing I needed the sleep! Has anyone found anything that’s helped?! I don’t remember having insomnia this bad until well into my second or even into my third trimester in previous pregnancies
@laur84ns I've had awful insomnia and taking a Unisom when I get into bed has helped a lot. I can get about 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep with it (probably could get more than that, but I always seem to have to pee in the middle of the night). I kinda think it helps me fall back asleep faster when I do wake up. I don't want to be dependent on it even though I don't think it's habit forming, so I take it 2-3 nights in a row and then try and sleep 1-2 without it. Going to bed at 830 helps too, but I'm a FTM who can probably get away with that a little more.
So about insomnia. I didn't realize I had it. I've always been a "night owl". But my husband has been on my ass about going to sleep and how I don't sleep at a decent time then i complain how tired I am. Well I have been like this with my last 4 pregnancies and didn't think much about it.
Finally mentioned it to my doctor and she told me to take melatonin. WOW! I don't know the last time I had such great restful sleep. I woke up today ready to clean and tackle laundry without any coffee!
So now I'm wondering If i suffer from insomnia regularly and I don't notice when I'm not pregnant because I can drink insane amounts of caffeine.

I used to struggle with insomnia, and then I became a parent and I was working full time and I got to the point where after my kid hit the bed so did I and DH laughed because I was often actually asleep before her... This trend went on until this pregnancy happened and I am not pleased with it. 1-2am and I am finally settled in.. and now my husband sends me to nap when he gets home from work because I look so tired and I feel like he's enabling me.
Every day I commit to a "no nap" day and most days I lose. We also think it's funny any time I try to reset my clock because we know it will be off the next day anyway. At this point I'm just treating it like newborn practice.
@wednesdaygirl1019 Trust me, I want to take ALL the unisoms but my 10 month d still wakes up a couple times a night so I don’t think that would work for me
@psychobutthead Hmm I wonder if I can take melatonin while breastfeeding? Im going to look into that!
At the beginning of this week I hit 13 weeks. I've been on zofran, b6 and unisom for all day nausea and vomiting. I decided to cut back on the b6 to test the waters and I was right back to nausea, not wanting to eat anything and dry heaving. Needless to say I went back to taking the b6 and I don't think I'll be able to stop the meds anytime soon. Once I was back to normal I was able to eat again which was good.
My back pain has been getting worse over the past two weeks. I need to find the motivation to get back into my yoga routine to see if that helps. It always helped with my back pain pre-pregnancy. I also purchased a donut cushion for my chair at work which helps a little bit.
Every night after dinner I have this stretching pain in my stomach. It feels like my uterus want to break out of my body through my naval. It makes it hard to get comfortable to fall asleep, luckily the unisom helps with sleep.
My exhaustion has improved! I no longer feel like I need a nap midday, so I'm happy about that.
I am definitely getting my energy back. This was the first weekend that I didn't feel like I needed a nap. I was still ready for bed early but while my son napped, I meal prepped for the week and did not dread the morning grocery run. I'm actually a little shocked that I am not already in bed right now!
I don't know if anyone else is dealing with this, but it is literally painful to sit for extended periods of time. I am a medical coder so i literally sit at a computer for 8 hours everyday abd my chair never bothered me before but in the last few weeks I feel like I am constantly fidgeting because my bottom hurts so much. I also have been dealing with the nausea and vomitting bad. Ill be 13 weeks on Tuesday so I'm hoping it will subside soon!
@soybeanmom I am so relieved to hear someone else talking about the evening weird stretching pain. I was trying to describe the heaviness of it to my husband last night and he was just giving me the "uh-huh... okay...." face and I was so mad. I just don't ever remember being this uncomfortable this early last time. My mom keeps reminding me I was working third shift direct care during my first pregnancy and so it's likely I tuned out a lot of the weird little things out of necessity to focus on work.
@maggied26 I've been feeling this a lot. I find myself getting up and pacing a lot right now. When I would be sitting to get things done.
I was just raving about how good I have been feeling and then about an hour ago nausea hit me hard! I don't know if it is because I didn't eat a morning snack. I grabbed my lunch from the fridge and am slowly eating but I feel terrible. The most frustrating thing is not always knowing if it is normal pregnancy nausea or if it is going to snow ball into something terrible like the flu. It is going around my school like wild fire. Oh second trimester, you are so close...
I’m jealous of everyone who is starting to feel better. If this is like last time, I have another month or so of nausea and exhaustion to deal with still. But the good news is I’m withering away so much I can still fit into my normal pants and should be able to hide my bump for a while longer.
@maggied26 I've definitely been experiencing this to the point that I bought a new desk chair because I'm thinking sitting on something a little softer will help, but maybe it's just wishful thinking. have you thought of using a yoga ball/birth ball? I'm wondering if it might help and if there is any reason why I wouldn't want to start using one this early.
Guys, I think I felt my first flutters today. With my DD, around 14 weeks I started noticing what I described as the feeling of holding a bag of water with a goldfish in it.. the way the fish might flutter close to the bag... today post work out I sat down and still and I felt.. something, almost like an internal tickle low in my abdomen, below the belly button. According to the date of my last period I'm 13 + 2 so while I feel that's maybe early to feel it, I very clearly remember noticing the flutters at 14 weeks with my first so I have to assume that this is possible. Fingers crossed this is just a good sign of things because I could really use some positive right now. I've been mad stressed out lately and I feel like the nausea has been cranking up high again and I just want to feel better.
This is my first baby, so reading how you stm+ describe the feelings of movement is so nice! I *think* I’ve felt some sort of flutters ☺️ Of course I wrote it off as gas or any thing other than possibly feeling baby move this early but deep in my heart, I kinda knew! ❤️
I did my first at home workout tonight! Two days ago I did a bit of a workout (snowshoeing) and the way I felt the next day was just awesome. I’m hoping that any sort of workout will help me have as good as a night sleep i had that night and possibly make me feel energized the following days.
I can’t wait for spring so I can walk!
The ice, snow, and Freezing cold make it really hard to go out for a good long walk.
Also, I am looooving strawberries. Strawberry anything, gimme gimmmme!!
@charhar0820 when I was in Japan their strawberries were divine! Each pack we got were ripe and sweet! I could not get enough of them. Here, they just suck until they come in season. But I’ve been in a fruit kick this season. I’ve been munching on grapes recently. They are not perfect, but they are not bad either. I’m just counting the days until fruit season is here.

@blackgirlmagic Yes!! Oh gosh, I went from Pears to apples to grapes, to strawberries 😂 I cannot get enough! I eat 1-2 bananas every day. Everything is absolutely a bit off for ripeness but I Need to have it lol. I actually don’t mind the bitter/sour - I’ve been craving sweet & sour!
As for grapes, I came across black grapes and wow - they are juicy, sweet and totally seedless!
I feel like maybe the nausea is getting a little better. I'd say one day out of every three is a decent day. I've had shortness of breath feelings a few times. Other than that, my symptoms have been pretty minimal.
@charhar0820@blackgirlmagic I’m on a fruit kick too. For the longest time it was grapefruit, but I think they’ve peaked because they’re not as good anymore. We get free fruit at work so every morning I stock up on an apple, a pear, a banana, and maybe a tangerine, then eat all of them throughout the day. I figure there are worse things I could be snacking on!
@maggied26 and @rivercitynik I have a desk job too and have been experiencing full cramping in my calves and shins. So I’m constantly fidgeting and getting up to walk around because it’s so distracting!
Wow, good for you guys eating all that fruit! I’ve recently tried to switch my daily sour candy (helps with the nausea) over to fruit since I’m feeling quite a bit better. I’ve had some delicious cherries, raspberries and grapes. I don’t know how you all are finding good, ripe strawberries- ours look unripe and are like $8 a carton! Forget it! When they go on sale I’ll snag some I’m excited for all the delicious fruit to come this summer!!! My coworkers sent me a beautiful edible fruit bouquet (all the fruit was half dipped in chocolate) after I had DD2 last spring and OMG it was ALL I wanted to eat for 2 days straight. So amazing. I’ve been dreaming of it, no joke. May have to request they send me s other one when this babe is born
If my memory is serving me correctly, it seems like boy moms are craving all the fruit.
I feel like I'm having a continuous headache. It's not bad but I go to bed with a headache, wake up with one, and go throughout my day with a headache. I don't consider it bad until I feel it behind my eyes. I don't like taking too much medicine with headaches, but I'm so over it.

Also on a fruit kick here! Strawberries, kiwi, and blueberries every day. Pears have also been really good. Actually last night my mouth started hurting I think from the acid in all the fruit. @jwhite3116 also the thought of watermelon is making my mouth water!!
@maggied26 Is there any chance your company will invest in a standing desk for you? My firm gets the VariDesk for whomever would like one. It's a bit pricey, but it's a total God send. It's easy to alternate from sitting to standing.

Ok I kind of knew to expect this since some of you girls have had a sudden burst of vomiting / nausea after a few days of feeling good.... but come on!!! On my birthday?!? Ugh. I looked forward to takeout Thai food all day, only to throw it up after eating it. I have felt so sick all night that I couldn’t even eat the salted caramel brownie that I asked my husband to bring me home from my favorite bakery downtown. That’s all I had going on today.... my special dinner and dessert and I couldn’t even enjoy either
@laur84ns Oh No!! I’m so sorry to hear you’re having a sick day on your birthday! That is really crummy. I hope you can at least save that dessert for another day when you can really enjoy it!
Happy Birthday to you and I sure hope you feel better soon! 🧁
@laur84ns Ugh, oh no! I'm sorry you are feeling so terrible on your birthday! I hope tomorrow is a better day and you can enjoy your brownie then. Happy birthday! 🎂

I’ve had insane fruit cravings as well! I’m about to make DH go get me some strawberries after reading these posts 🤣 still exhausted and nausea over here. Switched to diclegis from unisom and b6 but it’s so expensive and not covered by insurance. It def works though and has helped out a ton. I’m 10 lbs down from pre pregnancy weight so hopefully I can eat more soon!
Oh, @laur84ns! What a bummer. I hope you feel better soon. You'll have to have a re-do on your special dinner and dessert. You still deserve to be pampered when the nausea passes! Happy Birthday!
@laur84ns I'm sorry that you didn't feel well on your birthday! This was me on my anniversary with my last pregnancy. My husband and I went out for a nice dinner and a I had mocktail and then immediately felt so nauseaus. I hope you are feeling better today and that the birthday love is spread out over a few days.
@laur84ns so sorry you couldn’t enjoy your bday dinner 😕 @babytimeagain insomnia is so terrible. Hope you can get some rest tonight!
anyone else having terrible round ligament pain? Last night I reached out across the couch for my water glass and it was like an immediate sharp charley horse in my abdomen. Ever since then I’m cautiously moving around and afraid to cough or sneeze or move the wrong way. What’s the remedy?
