Hey Guys! I’m 10w2d and my grays are popping up like crazy 😜 (I’m 37) I know dying is a no no during first trimester but anyone know anything about those root cover up sprays? Are those bad as well?Â
Following this because I’m curious as well! I had been using my root cover up spray here and there (only when going out and seeing friends/coworkers occasionally) until last week when I realized maybe I should be... I’m going to guess it’s about the same as other chemical hair products - hairspray, dry shampoo, shone spray, etc but I don’t have any medical confirmation of that! Hopefully someone else can chime in with more info!Â
From what I've read, there's no proven study that dying your roots has negative side effects (but happy to be shown otherwise). My first pregnancy, I made it until about 10 weeks and tried to do a henna-organic-something-or-other, but it had zero impact on my gray. Then, I just gave in and did a regular root dye with windows open and fans running to help with the chemical smell. All that said, I think you should ask your doctor what he/she thinks.Â
I have had my roots dyed this time around but that's just a decision I've made for myself. Other than that, I am staying away from anything I think I can live without (acne cleansers, perfumes, extra make-up etc).

It's fine to color your hair. Just don't eat the hair color and you're in the clear.Â
