Cover up my roots 😆

Hey Guys!
I’m 10w2d and my grays are popping up like crazy 😜 (I’m 37) I know dying is a no no during first trimester but anyone know anything about those root cover up sprays? Are those bad as well?

Re: Cover up my roots 😆

  • Following this because I’m curious as well! I had been using my root cover up spray here and there (only when going out and seeing friends/coworkers occasionally) until last week when I realized maybe I should be... I’m going to guess it’s about the same as other chemical hair products - hairspray, dry shampoo, shone spray, etc but I don’t have any medical confirmation of that! Hopefully someone else can chime in with more info!

  • From what I've read, there's no proven study that dying your roots has negative side effects (but happy to be shown otherwise). My first pregnancy, I made it until about 10 weeks and tried to do a henna-organic-something-or-other, but it had zero impact on my gray. Then, I just gave in and did a regular root dye with windows open and fans running to help with the chemical smell. All that said, I think you should ask your doctor what he/she thinks.

I have had my roots dyed this time around but that's just a decision I've made for myself. Other than that, I am staying away from anything I think I can live without (acne cleansers, perfumes, extra make-up etc).

  • Absolutely fine to color your hair. I've already had mine done a couple weeks ago and go again in a few weeks for a touch up :)
