Re: Check-in w/o 1/20

  • EDD/weeks+days: 9/20 5+1!!

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: probably finding out at anatomy scan

Baby is the size of a(n): apple seed/lavender bud

    Upcoming appointments: 2/3

How are you feeling/Symptoms? I’m actually feeling really good right now which I’m thankful for. My cramping has mostly subsided unless I really over exert myself but it’s not as common as it was earlier on. I feel my worst in the middle of the night. I’ve been having to pee overnight too. Random nausea every once in a while but not too bad yet. I’m anticipating it to get a lot worse. right now what’s noticeable is sore boobs, especially when I wake up. Acne is bad, fatigue, and hunger more often.

Raves/Rants: rave: finally getting plans into motion that will hopefully help the stress I've been having lately.
rant; wish there was more time in the day to sleep!!

Questions: when did the nausea start for you?

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why?
The PNW. I love it out there and it’s where H’s family is, we hope to move back in the next couple of years.

  • EDD/weeks+days:
    7+5  <3

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green:
We are on the fence. This is our last and we’ve never been Team Green before, but I’m also a fool and sold all of our son’s stuff when we found out we were having a girl. And lucky for me we had another girl after that! Apparently we don’t really know when we are “done” having kids. Ha! So.. we will see.

Baby is the size of a(n):
    Raspberry or uncooked macaroni noodle

    Upcoming appointments:
30th to keep a watch on baby (RPL past, unfortunately)

    How are you feeling/Symptoms?
Not very good. Nauseated and then when I’m hungry nothing sounds good.. horrible migraines, exhausted.

    Raves/Rants:
My husband mistaked our last baby’s infant seat for our child’s before that and thought it was expired......... wrong seat. And he clipped the straps before putting it in the trash. Fortunately you can buy new straps, but honestly?? Goodness gracious!

    Questions:
Anyone else having occasional pelvic discomfort? Is this a stm+ thing? I do remember it with my last but wondering if it’s just me...

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why?
Santa Barbara, CA I just would love that weather and environment every day. I live in the Midwest and we can only COMFORTABLY be outside guaranteed May-Sept. And some years we’ve gotten a foot of snow in May. My mental health could just use year round decent weather! Cost of living would kill us there though.
  • EDD/weeks+days: 9/2 7weeks+5

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/green: Finding Out

Baby is the size of a(n): Almost a raspberry

Upcoming appointments: 2/3 dating ultrasound. Still two weeks away. 😩

How are you feeling/Symptoms? Like exhausted garbage. Nauseous, hungry, simultaneously sweating and freezing, sore boobs, periodic vision issues and exhausted. Also emotionally I am feeling pretty frustrated with how crappy I feel. Resting this much is making me stir crazy. This is significantly worse than my prior two pregnancies. It will pass though and overall I am excited.

Raves/Rants: I am sick of feeling sick. My husband has been a saint taking the lions share of the work at home despite being overwhelmed at work currently.

Questions: Those that felt crappy in previous pregnancies, when did it subside?

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why? I will always want to be near my family, so where ever they are. If I can relocate everyone then somewhere that isn’t too hot or too cold. Michigan summers are very lovely, but humid and winters are longer than I would prefer.

@greyl The rough nausea began at about the 6 week mark.

EDD/weeks+days: Based on my ovulation I'm due 9/1 7w6d, but at the doctor my OB put me at around 7w4d so possibly 9/3. I have to have another dating US to confirm.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): peanut m&m, raspberry

Upcoming appointments: I have to make an appointment for another US to confirm the date

How are you feeling/Symptoms? tired AF. the unisom/by combo is wiping we out. Thirsty all the time even though I am constantly drinking water. metallic taste, vivid dreams, insomnia despite the unisom, very dry nose.

Raves/Rants: trying to just take this pregnancy day by day end enjoy it while it's just me and DH who know- before everyone starts asking questions and making plans and giving us unwanted advice.

    Questions:

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why? I would either live in London- lived in the UK for a few years as a kid and would love to live there again. Also, somewhere in the PNW Seattle, oregon, Vancouver. DH and I honeymooned on Vancouver island and we just loved it so much. Gorgeous place!

@chasingroygbiv ugh, I would be so annoyed if DH did that! I am definitely having pelvic pain and RLP early this time around-especially when I go to stand up.

@Louise_Belcher the sick feeling stopped for me after 12w , but the exhaustion didn't end until about 16w

@greyl @emki1230 nausea started right at 5w for me.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea

Upcoming appointments: on Friday for our first ultrasound 😬

How are you feeling/Symptoms? Nausea, exhaustion, mild cramping, pulling feeling in my belly

Raves/Rants: just that my symptoms all feel magnified this time around. I'm sure I won't be able to keep this from my coworkers for long despite my want to.

    Questions:

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why?
The Netherlands. We visited some of my family there a few years ago and both fell in love with the country.

@greyl queasiness was my first sign that I was pregnant lol. With DS I think I was about 5-6 weeks before it really started

  • @Louise_Belcher With our son I felt better around 15 weeks albeit I honestly had it pretty good with him, mostly just horrible migraines that messed with my vision and freaked me out. With my girls I was sick well into second trimester. Around 22 weeks is when nausea seemed to improve with them.

@mandamomof3 my bloat was soooo bad with my 3rd that I looked a good 16-18 weeks pregnant at only 9-ish weeks, but once that eased up I didn’t show much until 18 weeks. I mean... I successfully kept it a secret until 19 weeks when we were finally comfortable sharing our news!
  • EDD/weeks+days: 6w2d

    Questions: nope

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why? I love where we love (SoCal), I’m born and raised here and all my family is here, but I’d like to live somewhere else once. East coast? Abroad? I dunno, just something different.

    Raves/Rants: I can’t think of anything

    Questions: none

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why? Carmel, California. So beautiful up there and the weather is great. Would love to live on the coast and have an ocean view. If only. Haha

    Raves/Rants: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Questions: Got nothing

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why? I don't know, man. I really love my city and H + I haven't been crazy in love with anywhere else we've been. So I guess we'll stay in Texas :)

  • @greyl I’m not nauseated yet but with my twins it started at 6w and lasted until 3rd tri.

@chasingroygbiv I have a lot of pelvic cramping and sharp pain that I don’t remember having with the twins. I had a csection so I think that might be part of it...but it’s definitely more pain the I remember.

@mandamomof3 I just had one pregnancy before (twins) but I feel like I’m already showing because I’m so bloated

@Louise_Belcher the nausea vomiting stopped at the beginning of third tri but then I had a lot of pain in my ribs because the babies were so big and running out of room and I couldn’t sleep from restless legs until I delivered. I remember the sleep after delivery being the best sleep ever lol. I’m hoping this pregnancy will be smoother.

Baby is the size of a(n): eraser on a #2 pencil

    Upcoming appointments: repeat ultrasound 2/5

How are you feeling/Symptoms? Feeling okay, honestly feel more anxious than pregnant. But my boobs are tender (and DH insists they’re bigger) and I’ve been feeling pretty tired. Which may be because I’ve been waking up an hour before my alarm with a bursting bladder.

Raves/Rants: How is one supposed to get to all their appointments and reduce occupational hazards while still not broadcasting to coworkers that you’re KU when it’s really early? I finally caved and told me chief and he was very sweet about it. I’m not sure he totally understood my anxiety about saying something early, but he said he would get me excused whenever I needed without letting everyone know why.

Questions: forgot to ask my RE if and when I graduate to General OB. But I’m trying not to get ahead of myself.

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why? I’d love to move back to California just to be close to family. I’d also love to move to a tropical island somewhere but that seems less likely ;)
  • @beaandthebabes I was congested most of my first trimester with my daughter and it’s finally starting to ease up a bit with this pregnancy. When pregnant, I just pretty much have mucus pouring out of me from everywhere. It’s super pleasant 😣
  • @beaandthebabes I had obstetric rhinitis combined with a sinus infection when I was pregnant with DS. It was horrible. I had nose sprays and antibiotics and the nose strips, all trying to get me to breathe so I could get some sleep

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding out fo sho

Baby is the size of a(n): Coffee bean!

Upcoming appointments: First ultrasound on 1/29. I'm so excited--I thought it would be later so I was happy I got that appointment.

How are you feeling/Symptoms? Grateful, anxious, tired, a little less bloated, a little more nauseous.

Raves/Rants: Too exhausted to do either  :|

Questions: Will I ever stop farting?

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why? I'm with @louise_belcher and @angbaby83 and just want to be where my family is. That's pretty much the only reason we've stayed in this area. And like @mandamomof3 I do like having every separate season (although increasingly it seems like fall and spring are shrinking...)
  • @beaandthebabes I get super congested when I'm pregnant and my ears go crazy, too. TMI it's all just dry and gross, I'm constantly blowing my nose to get rid of all the crud.

@scaron86 I feel you on the hormones! I was 10mo PP when we started TTC, got pregnant at 12m PP which ended in a CP, and then got my BFP in December, all the while I was exclusively pumping. I just weaned off the pump 3 weeks ago. To say I've been moody is an understatement!

Baby is the size of a(n): poppyseed! Tiny nug

Upcoming appointments: Still need to find an OB

How are you feeling/Symptoms? Still feeling normal

Raves/Rants: I bought 2 boxes of Girl Scout cookies the other day and I’m currently eating them with a cup of tea. Almost makes up for not being able to have wine lol

Questions: Anyone else just keep taking pregnancy tests to make sure you’re still KU? I did this with my first too lol

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why? Hmmmm maybe Paris. Or Hawaii.
    DD born 6/21/2018

  • @ssbl - I’m a freaking farting machine! It’s been my 1 consistent symptom with this pregnancy 🤪
  • EDD/weeks+days: 9/25, 4 weeks 4 days

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Team Green. We found out with our last two pregnancies but since this will be our last one I cannot imagine a better surprise in life.

Baby is the size of a(n): waterbear (not sure what that is)

Upcoming appointments: 2/17 for ultrasound and 1st dr appointment

How are you feeling/Symptoms? Boobs are tender, vivid dreams, more tired than normal, TMI pooping more than normal 🤷‍♀️

Raves/Rants: I wish I could fall asleep easy. No matter how tired I am whenever I get the chance to sleep I just cannot fall asleep.

    Questions: None at the moment.

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why? Western or central Pennsylvania, we have visited friends and family up there and love how beautiful it is. However, I would not want to drive in the snow (especially all those crazy hills).

@linz36 Glad you got insurance worked out! Re: one off posts, my old bmb someone would politely explain the board Didn’t like one off posts and it cluttered the board and please introduce themselves in the intro thread and ask their questions in the appropriate post. I’m not eloquent enough so I was never the one that would do it. And also I never wanted to take the time to type it all out. I guess there could be a standard response and copy and paste it in the post.

ETA: no one else would respond and they stayed relatively drama free. Seems like nowadays any tiny hint of drama and mods shut down posts anyways.
    Ivy: July 2010  |  Stella: Dec 2012  |  BFP#3: MMC at 11Wk's, July 2017 | Wyatt: April 2019 | BFP#5: Twin Girls due Sept 2020

  • @linz36 I like that you’re thinking of this with a positive approach. With one of my losses I had joined a group and there were so many mean girls that I never even introduced myself.  :( I think if it seems like a genuine person posting that maybe just doesn’t know how these boards work, we just simply (but kindly) direct them to the correct thread/post. I think back to my very first pregnancy, trying to figure out how message boards worked and it was extremely intimidating! Some of us have been around for awhile so it seems obvious to us, but that’s not the case for all! And I feel a little sad when a woman posts with a real concern and gets made fun of or just completely shut down. I’m kind of a softie when it comes to things like that though...
  • @linz36 that post seems really odd to me which is why I didn’t feel a need to answer. If it was a genuine intro post or realistic question I would probably nicely direct them to the intros. But that one doesn’t even seem to want to be a part of the community so I think in that case we should just ignore. I’m sure that persons doctor would be able to explain most of the questions she has anyway. Or they would know of literature to look at.

@balletnerd I’m using a midwife because I really like the approach that midwives have. but I have nothing against OBs because who knows I might end up needing one. I watched the business of being born and it made a lot of sense to me, like how I want to go through L&D etc. So I think that’s a good doc if you’re interested. A con I can think of is that if you develop complications you’ll have to get transferred to an OB or MFM. I also think there’s generally less monitoring/intervention with a midwife but I don't know that for sure from experience yet
  • @linz36 @greyl I agree it seems like a very odd post, like maybe someone just lurking on different BMBs. I think that not responding and just trying to keep positivity on the board is the best route to go.

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: we will find out!

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea

    Upcoming appointments: Jan. 30

How are you feeling/Symptoms? exhausted... but I would prefer exhaustion to nausea, so fingers crossed

Raves/Rants: my doctors nurse called to tell me I had low progesterone and need to get on the supplements.. and said "Don't miss your next appointment" umm thanks.. not planning on it? if this was my first, I would have definitely been alarmed by the tone of the phone call, but have been through this before so.. yeah

    Questions: not at this point.

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why? If extended family wasn't a factor and it was just based on the place, Italy or France
  • EDD/weeks+days: Sept 15, 6+2

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green:  Green for sure!

Baby is the size of a(n): chocolate chip

Upcoming appointments:  US Feb 14 to confirm due date

How are you feeling/Symptoms?  Bearable so far, incredibly sore boobs, mild headaches and just. So. Tired!

    Raves/Rants: none yet :)

Questions:  I moved from the US to Canada, and my regular Dr said to keep going to her until early third trimester, when she'd recommend me to whoever would deliver me.  A little nervous to not have much time to build a relationship with whoever will be delivering my baby, any other Canada mom's on here, or should I not worry?  FTM here....

GTKY: if you could live anywhere where would it be and why?  Right where we are is my favorite.... West coast canada- has all four seasons and is beautiful rain snow or sun with tons of mountains!
  • @readytobemama I'm on the East Coast. It seems that every doctor and every hospital has a different way of handling things. We've got 2 hospitals here (the "French" and "English" hospitals) and all doctors are associated with one or the other. Even then, the French hospital which I go to has a clinic with rotating doctors whereas the English hospital you only see one doctor.
If it bugs you not knowing the doctor, I'd ask your family physician to give you a name so you can at least go do a meet and greet.
