  • EDD/W+D:  4/15. / 27w +5

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): lettuce

Upcoming Appointments:  check up/  Tdap &rhogam vaccines with my public health Dr

How are you feeling? I have had no voice for 5 days now and swallowing hurts so bad. All of my other flu symptoms have left but this one is tough to deal with, especially since I'm an teacher online teacher and don't want to use my few cancellations in case things come up with baby.

Raves/Rants:  voice to come back and someone to figure out all my baby registry stuff for me 🤣🤣 .   having two registries in different countries is chaos.  one for smaller things in the US my family can bring when they visit, the other is on Amazon Spain. I often am finding a product I like on Amazon us website and seeing how much more $$ it is on Amazon Spain, or  often times don't carry the product entirely.  😭😭

    Questions:.

GTKY: What's your most used app on your phone/tablet?  Oo Instagram. 😝 I do have an app timer set on my phone though for 15 mins a day. Thankful for that handy feature otherwise I could spend hours usually looking at recipes, workouts, baby advice, etc etc!!!
  • EDD/W+D: April 6 - 29 weeks today!

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Pink

Baby is the size of a(n): acorn squash

    Upcoming Appointments: Fetal Echo Wednesday

How are you feeling? I’m feeling okay. I’m definitely getting worn out faster and easier. I’m feeling more heavy and sore. I seem to be sleeping better again, though, which is making me so so happy.

Raves/Rants: I love feeling her move all the time although if she could stop kicking my bladder every 5 minutes that would be great. Another rave is I saw the invite to my baby shower by accident and I’m so so so excited. My momma is the best and I can’t wait.

Questions: Does anyone buy stuff from the registry before their actual shower? I have a lot of nursery stuff on there and it’s killing me to just sit around twiddling my thumbs waiting to see if I get it.

GTKY: What's your most used app on your phone/tablet? Besides the usual social media apps, I love the Calm app. It really helps me handle my anxiety. It has amazing meditations that have different focuses and also great sleep stories and meditations for those nights it’s hard to fall asleep, as well as different soundscapes. I use my ocean soundscape every night and now my husband can’t sleep without it either. Lol
  • @korthouse I also feel ridiculously underprepared. It’s contributing to my anxiety for sure. Also, I just want to give you a big hug. I’m so so sorry you went through that. ❤️
  • EDD/W+D: 4/14, 27+6

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: pink

Baby is the size of a(n): eggplant

Upcoming Appointments: regular check up on Friday. Probably gonna hit a pharmacy soon to get my tdap, too

How are you feeling? Ok. Just feeling bery achy if I do too much.

Raves/Rants: can't believe it's less than 3 months till I meet baby girl. Gonna preregister at the hospital soon and that's gonna make it super real!

Questions: Are you making it a point to see every doctor in your ob practice before delivering? I've only seen 2 of them this pregnancy and I'm worried I'll get the one I haven't seen when I deliver.

GTKY: What's your most used app on your phone/tablet? Probably Facebook with pokemon go up there, too.

  • @literatureandink last pregnancy, we bought the crib and dresser before the shower. We figured no one would buy that and we didn't one person spending that much on us.

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): Pineapple

Upcoming Appointments: January 27th midwife appointment

How are you feeling? Slowing down. I feel tired and need to take rest breaks after I exert any energy. Feeling the push toward getting more stuff done in the nursery.

Raves/Rants: Really enjoying the stronger kicks and seeing baby boy moving from the outside now.

Questions: Has anyone else chosen their pediatrician yet? I was supposed to put it down on my pre registration form, but haven’t got around to it yet!

GTKY: What's your most used app on your phone/tablet? Facebook and Instagram
  • @literatureandink I bought most of my nursery stuff myself, because I didn’t want to wait! There are some things on there still for the nursery, but the big furniture and the wall hangings I got myself!

@Kathryn0903 My practice makes sure you have appointments with all the midwives by the end of pregnancy, so you meet them all. If I end up needing a c-section, I will also meet whatever OB I choose to do it.

@ejoseph16 Yes! He is moving so much more now and I can see it more from the outside!
  • @gingers19 any good/fun mom accounts? Or just like mommas you know IRL?
  • For the registries we have been putting on what we need/want.  If we’re going to buy something for the babies I put it on the registry and then buy it as it gives us a longer return period and if anyone is looking at the registry they’ll see you already have it.

We aren’t having any showers or anything before babies come due to our history **tw - DD was stillborn at full term- end tw** and it’s been great that the few people have offered have been smaller ones for after the babies are here.  So we’re buying from our registry but I think that will help us not get duplicates in the long term.

    EDD/W+D:
4/11 / 28+2 but c-section will be schedule for 4/1 unless babies come earlier.

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: pink / blue twins

Baby is the size of a(n): rollerblade 😂

Upcoming Appointments: Jan 30 for 30 week check up

How are you feeling? Heartburn!! Also very sore and having a lot of vagina pain.  I think one of the babies is playing with a nerve.

Raves/Rants: My belly band from my last pregnancy is too tight with twins so I think I need to invest in a bigger one...

    Questions:
anyone buy a Spectra S1 pump? I’ve found 2 sites to purchase from (US)  and don’t know which one is legit.  Ugh!!

GTKY: What's your most used app on your phone/tablet?
ummmm besides the social media and bump ones I guess it would be google maps (Work route can change depending on what time I leave - anywhere from 45min to 1hr 15min — nothing like @literatureandink’s commute!) and.... lately registry apps.

  • @Kathryn0903 where I delivered my first two, I never met all the OBs. There were just too many and a lot of them didn’t fit with my schedule. I wasn’t able to meet the OBs who delivered my first two babies but never butted heads with them so for me, didn’t matter in the end.

Baby is the size of a(n): rollerblade

Upcoming Appointments: I have a somewhat related appointment today but next OB appointment is next Friday.

How are you feeling? I got a reflux prescription and I finally can eat! I was constantly vomiting stomach bile and unable to eat much for about two weeks. I had enough.

Raves/Rants: I would secretly love it if MH and dog would sleep in the guest room until this baby is born. I’m constantly shoving both of them and just want the bed to myself.

    Questions:

GTKY: What's your most used app on your phone/tablet? Probably Instagram or Podcast

  • @Kathryn0903 I have my OB at the clinic and she has her rotation at the hospital. It would be such an inconvenience to drive to the different clinics all her partners are at to meet them - especially since there are quite a few. But it’s nice not to worry about if the dr will be available if I go into labor.
  • EDD/W+D: 4/14, 27+6 (CS scheduled for 3/30)

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): Winter squash

    Upcoming Appointments: OB 1/28

How are you feeling? Tired all the time. I feel like I’m back to first Tri with zero energy. I also have a terrible acid reflux that seems to be getting worse by the day. Also having a lot of Braxton Hicks.

Raves/Rants: I was telling DH last night that I am starting to feel overwhelmed with how much our life is going to change in 9w or less. Between everything I need to get done at home, finishing up work for a year and then knowing he can come any time.....it’s starting to get real AF.

Questions: Has anyone started buying stuff for postpartum? I want to have my hospital bag ready to go by 32w since I’m high risk.

GTKY: What's your most used app on your phone/tablet? Instagram, Podcast or Notes
  • @mandarenee898 I got the Spectra S2 off of Amazon. I had a hard time trying to find the S1 from a site that would ship to Canada and it’s not sold here.

@babyrummom we will be seeing our current family doctor unless we need extra care and then will be referred to a paediatrician.

@literatureandink I’ve been buying something off of my registry weekly, but I’m not a FTM. I would wait until your shower if you can. It could be hit or miss with whether people will shop off of the registry or not, but with DD I actually had to add items to my registry the week before my shower. Pretty much everyone used the registry or gave gift cards.

@Kathryn0903 I’m only seeing my OB. If I make it to my scheduled CS she will
actually be on vacation, so I will get whoever is on call. I’d rather have her for all of my prenatal appointments, she’s been through a lot with us and I trust her opinion 100%. I really don’t care who actually delivers me (which may be an UO) since I know it will be a CS. I had 3 different OBs during my delivery with DS and they were all fantastic so I’m not too concerned.

@korthouse yes, so much to do! I feel like I was better prepared for DD.

@gingers19 Oh my gosh, yes on the baby gear! I was just telling a friend it's so much easier when things are loaned to you so you don't have to decide. 😝

And my timer thing is built in with my Google pixel (Android). If you have Android you can go into the settings and there is one called digital well being and set a timer for everything there! It gives you little reminders too as you are approaching your limit. 🤣

@literatureandink a few that I have started following on the gram are takingcarababies (I plan to take her baby sleep class as well),  mommy.labornurse, feedinglittles,  healthiest_baby. Once you follow those a million others will start Poppin up as suggested. 😅
  • @Kathryn0903 I’m only seeing my normal OB. Last time, I saw three others in the hospital during my induction, but my OB came in right as I was ready to start pushing, so she delivered DS. It really calmed me down. I accept that someone else may deliver this one, but I trust my OB, so I prefer to see her for all my appointments.

@korthouse  I just want to give you a hug. I’m so sorry. Also, yes, I still have a million things to do.

@l@literatureandink I bought a few of the big ticket items before my shower last time. Definitely the crib. I will note that a lot of people will give you diapers, clothes, and other small things. Mostly my parents, in-laws, and aunts bought the larger stuff.

@ej@ejoseph16  Feel better. So glad you don’t have to keep teaching deep into third tri.

@bab@babyrummom Last time, my OB told me that if we didn’t pick one by 8 months, the baby would just see the hospital pediatrician while there.

How are you feeling? Kind of awful today. Constipation and gas pain. Plus, I went to the grocery store by myself and could have sworn that I was going to die.

Raves/Rants: The emotions are so hard. Every little thing is making me cry or making me angry. Like, why is DH so grouchy when he has a cold? Why does he just passively let the kid make a big mess and make no effort to clean it up. I’m so tired of trying to clean up after that.

    Questions: No

GTKY: What's your most used app on your phone/tablet? I’m boring. I use my phone for Facebook, the internet (news and shopping mostly), the Bump, and being a phone.

How are you feeling? Still fairly good! I’ve definitely been noticing a bit more pelvic pain this past week! Also the acne I was struggling with forever has basically subsided but now I have red bumps all over my face (not pimples that eventually pop just small bumps), arms and back!! Ugh!! Anyone else??

Raves/Rants: See above ! Lol .. rave - the weather is supposed to significantly improve this week. It will be a nice break from the arctic 🙄 Anyone that lives in a warm climate I am seriously jealous.

Questions: I need skin help! Any suggestions??? I feel like I’ve tried everything.

  • @doraleigh35 I'm starting to consider at least packing my hospital bag soon. I remember getting sent to L & D at 32 wks last time. I was able to hold out till 37 wks, but I want to be prepared.
Anyone want a hospital bag/postpartum packing list thread soon?

  • @Kathryn0903 Yes please!

@kath1414 That sounds like it could be a pregnancy rash. Has your OB/midwife seen it?
  • @Kathryn0903 I have a list going on my phone for my bag- 3rd round so I think I have it figured out. But I'll probably have a backup bag in the car, in case we need to extend babies stay. Also with a planned c-section, I brought a small bag in with me for the immediate after, and DH brought in my bigger bag once we were settled in the room after.

Baby is the size of a(n): Acorn squash (which seems smaller than last week?)

Upcoming Appointments: Feb 10 for 32 weeks, Feb 12 Hospital tour

How are you feeling? The work stress has subsided a little, so much better than last week! I’m experiencing leg cramps at night and somehow even though I haven’t been constipated, I’m now enjoying hemorrhoids (sorry if that’s an overshare). Yikes!

Raves/Rants: My nursery furniture was delivered yesterday! We haven’t unboxed the crib (that’s a project for this weekend), but I love the finish of the dresser. After the hours I spent agonizing over this decision, I’m so glad I am going to be happy with what I chose!

GTKY: What's your most used app on your phone/tablet? Aside from the usuals, probably Amazon Music. I listen to music at work or doing chores around the house, and I also have sleep sounds I listen to when DH is snoring!
  • @korthouse Yes! Definitely a mountain to climb. I made some good progress this weekend, but most of it was just clearing out the room.

@literatureandink We did buy furniture ourselves, and I bought a few of the more expensive non-nursery items (travel system, baby carrier) on Black Friday when they were on sale. I think it will be harder once we have the room put together, and we are just waiting for everything else! My completion discounts kick-in at the beginning of February, so I’m trying to be patient. I’m hoping that since invites are out for our open house, I will start to see items being purchased, and that will help me chill out about it until after the party.

@ejoseph16 Yes! Every night when I first get in bed, I try to concentrate on baby moving for a little while. It’s so amazing and weird!

@kathryn0903 I have Kaiser, so I see a nurse practitioner and an OB for my appointments, but there are like 20+ on rotation at the hospital who could deliver me. One of my biggest concerns is whether I will trust the person on call, but I’m planning to make it clear to my husband and my mom ahead of time that this is an issue for me, so they can help me navigate it if it comes up. Also, I really want a female doctor, so fingers crossed that works out! If I do have to plan an induction, I will try to do it when my OB is scheduled.

@babyrummom I haven’t picked a pediatrician yet! They asked me about it at my last appointment though!

@gingers19 I have the same issue with baby gear! Don’t get me started on reading the reviews!

@doraleigh35 I have a hospital bag list in case we need to pack in a hurry, but I also haven’t purchased most of my postpartum care items yet. I have a lot of them as private registry items, so I can buy them all at once when the completion discount kicks in.

Thanks everyone for the Instagram suggestions! I don’t use the platform much, but I definitely want to scroll through these feeds!

Baby is the size of a(n): Close enough to 26w so I'll go with that: kale, work gloves, double gulp.  Those all seem so different in size...

Upcoming Appointments: I have to go for my glucose test soon.  The doctor gave me the lab slip and told me to put it off until Feb.

How are you feeling? Super emotional, sore boobs, less insomnia which is nice, but randomly over doing it and ending up with super sore hips and knees that will occasionally keep me awake.  Poor DH, my drive is up but at the same time I feel like a beached whale and the effort of moving around and finding a position that feels comfortable seems like so much work.

    Raves/Rants:

    Questions:

GTKY: What's your most used app on your phone/tablet?  According to the usage in my setting it's Safari.  I do A LOT of googling.  Other than that I don't do much on my phone.  I'll occasionally check Instagram but I don't have Facebook.

Edit since I don't know how many weeks I am
  • EDD/W+D: 4/20/20 & 27+2

    Team finding out/pink/blue/green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): kale, fennec fox (minus the tail), cauliflower, every app says something different.

Upcoming Appointments: Glucose test, & super excited for our (elective) 3D ultrasound!

How are you feeling? still making it to my workouts! some interrupted sleep but otherwise I feel amazing <3

Raves/Rants: I have the MOST uncomfortable desk chair in my elementary school. my back & shoulders kill me at the end of the day.

    Questions:

GTKY: What's your most used app on your phone/tablet? hmmm probably words with friends or Instagram.
  • @phinzlabyrinth I was struggling with my teacher chair as well. My doctor wrote me a note to allow me to have a ball chair because we aren’t allowed to bring our own furniture. It has helped SO MUCH with my guided reading time!
  • @mwill291 I'm so happy you've made it this far without needing bedrest! FX it stays that way and baby boy stays put for quite some time!
  • EDD/W+D: April 30th, 26 weeks completed today!

Team finding out/pink/blue/green: Team Pink <3

Baby is the size of a(n): Bunch of Kale, Bowling Pin, Acorn Squash

Upcoming Appointments: February 11th at 28 (almost 29) weeks - ultrasound to see if my placenta has moved, and I'm really hoping for some good news. It can't get here fast enough for me.

How are you feeling? Better today than I was yesterday - my back has been bothering me but it feels better today so it's mostly just round ligament pain and fatigue from the insomnia. I think I might have had my first Braxton Hicks contraction last night; my abdomen got really tight and tensed up for about 20 seconds before it released and didn't happen again for the rest of the night. It didn't hurt too much - just was uncomfortable. My boobs have started to hurt again - for the first time since 12 weeks - and I do not approve. xD

Raves/Rants: I can't remember if I shared this or not. (Pregnancy brain....sigh) But I'm still really excited about the clearance deal my DH found at Wal-Mart for a jogger and infant carrier. My sister has the same one, and she loves hers so I'm glad to have gotten it for $20 cheaper than I expected. It felt super real to have a car seat in our house though. I can't think of a rant right now. I suppose my DH not buying me a cheese danish and a doughnut when I wanted one in the middle of the night. lol.

Questions: I'm sure I have some, but I can't seem to think of them right now.

GTKY: What's your most used app on your phone/tablet? Probably Facebook, Google Chrome, and YouTube
