I faced my fear of making a GTKY question! Usually I just rip them from the other groups
EDD/weeks+days: 7/17 13+3 (measuring 5 days ahead though! Tall baby)
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out on SATURDAY AHHHH!
Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: lemon / baby's head is now only like 1/3 of the body instead of the majority of it!
Upcoming appointments: next OB appt is 2/5
How are you feeling?: fine! randomly super exhausted, not sure if I've just been sleeping like crap (probably), coming down with something, or it's the major fluctuations in weather.
Raves/Rants: Rant - I had a freaking internal meltdown yesterday over DH. "We" were supposed to start cleaning the house yesterday so "we" (aka I) don't have to run around doing everything Thursday night before my parents come on Friday, but he didn't move off the couch. The first half of the day was laziness, the second half I guess he was randomly feeling like he was going to barf. I was so annoyed that I started raging to my cat about how I hope he knows he won't be able to do this once the baby is born because the house cleaning/laundry fairy will be out of commission. Then I started to kind of spiral about the kind of "help" I'm going to get with the baby once it's born. Someone calm me down and tell me my husband is going to stop being a lump on the log and not expect me to be a housewife (has never said this explicitly but I mean no one else cleans), mother, and work a full time job???? Will he start helping me out more once I've got a giant belly and it seems more real (my current theory is since I've been feeling totally fine that he's like eh she'll be good)??? Rave - we're having a small group (parents, grandparents) over this weekend for a gender reveal and I'm excited. And yes I know, it's the sex not gender but "sex reveal" sounds weird. I didn't want to do a big thing because I think those big elaborate reveals are dumb so hopefully this fits my lowkey expectations. Either way I am excited to see my mom - I think she has been really sad since our dog died so I'm glad we'll get to hang. I usually have at least 5 meetings a day and I have NONE today, I feel so free!...and so unproductive without any sort of structure.
Questions: see above rant lol. Otherwise nothing
GTKY: What are your ideal weekend plans? Going to the gym with my BFF, coffee, watching TV or reading by myself for a while, doing productive stuff around the house with DH, and a casual date night!
Thanks for starting us up today, @b_1029 ! I love the question!
EDD/weeks+days: 7/19, 13+1
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green!
Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: Lemon, and baby could start sucking their thumb soon (cute!)
Upcoming appointments: This Friday! I haven't seen a profile yet despite having had several early ultrasounds. Last one was a bit of a blob. I'm hoping to see a lil face this time!
How are you feeling? On the one hand, good - I feel like my energy is coming back and I'm enjoying many of my normal foods again. On the other hand, I feel like a beached whale. I look at myself in the mirror and see little/no difference, but I just feel huge right now, yuck!
Raves/Rants: Rave: DH and I started thinking about registry this weekend and we made a preliminary layout for the room that will be the nursery! It's a funky shape and has some furniture that has to stay there, so it was a bit of a geometry problem, but I'm glad to finally have a layout in my mind that we think will work. Bring on nesting! Also, I started therapy this weekend with someone who specializes in pregnancy and post-partum issues (among other things) and I really enjoyed it. Rant: I have an insanely busy week this week at work and DH is travelling. He usually drives me to and from the train each day and takes our dog to daycare, and I'm on my own for both of those things this week. I know I'm spoiled, but I'm going to spend a lot more time and money on commuting this week than usual and won't be able to share household duties. Whiney, I know, play your tiny violins for me.
Questions: n/a
GTKY: What are your ideal weekend plans? 1-2 social engagements (meals out, sports game watches, walks along the river, events, etc.), something outside with pup if weather allows, but also lots of chill time to hang out with DH, take a nap, read, watch random TV, etc.
@b_1029 SO EXCITING! Can't wait to hear the update next week on your boy or girl! That's frustrating about YH. I think women tend to be more in tune with the pregnancy and are thinking more about current and future changes than the men are, generally speaking. I know I've been talking to MH about wanting to establish/manage boundaries with his family now in anticipation of that being something I will need after baby. My advice is to talk about it. Even though you've been feeling good and not all that symptom-y, your body is still doing a lot and going through a lot of changes, and managing work and home is a lot for anyone to do on their own. He's going to have to step it up when baby comes, might as well practice now!
@mehugg ahhh how did I forget time with our pup and NAPS?! Both are key to a perfect weekend! Totally agree about women being more in tune etc. I think it's still pretty abstract for DH right now, especially since I've been relatively functional and asymptomatic this entire time...and I feel huge, but probably don't actually look all that different yet. Sorry you're on your own this week, it's crazy how much those small errands add up in stress and time! Whenever DH is gone I realize how much time he saves me in the mornings by getting up before me to take care of all of the pets. Hope your week goes by quickly and you get to see that sweet little profile on Friday
Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: Idk but apparently this week we should start to expect a glow so Mother Nature I’m expecting less vomiting and more glowing. Thanks.
Upcoming appointments: Wednesday, just a normal check up.
How are you feeling? Horrible. The nausea is never ending. I may never eat a real meal again.
Raves/Rants: can my rant be that this post is always on Monday and if it was Tuesday I could be into the next week for how far along I am. Does that matter? No. Does it bother me? Yes. Also I’m making it my goal to stay more on top of this post this week.
Questions:
GTKY: What are your ideal weekend plans? currently, a very long nap.
@b_1029 yay for finding out! Are you so excited? I couldn’t wait. Also while you Amy not think you are experiencing a lot of symptoms I think we start to forget what we were like before and you really may be experiencing more than you think.
@mehugg my husband was out of town for the last 4 days and I was totally whiney too. He always makes me breakfast because my heads in a toilet and having to feed myself has been way too much.
Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: Large shrimp/can fit on a post-it note. Currently measuring from butt to top of head at 3 inches!
Upcoming appointments: Just had one today, and posted a few ultrasound pictures in the ultrasound thread
How are you feeling? Pretty good, actually. As long as I eat every 2 hours and get a good nights sleep.
Raves/Rants: We purchased a crib this past weekend, it was the one we wanted and it was on sale so we jumped.
Questions: None ATM.
GTKY: What are your ideal weekend plans? Sleeping in, going on a little adventure, and then GYSD (get your sh*t done) on Sunday. I get the Sunday Scaries so the more structure I have, the easier it is for me to get through the day.
Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: Lemon and as tall as a tube of lipstick
Upcoming appointments: NT scan today, bloodwork next week and then OB the 30th
How are you feeling? Pretty good! I keep getting a lot of stomach pains at night though
Raves/Rants: I’ve come to terms this week that my 16 month old will forever wake up at 4/4:30 and absolutely hating that early of a wake up
Questions:
GTKY: What are your ideal weekend plans? Lounging around with the fam Saturday morning and then going out and doing something as a family the rest of the weekend. I hate staying home, so as long as we’re out and about I’m happy!
Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Just found out yesterday - we are team PINK!!
Baby is the size of a(n)/fun fact: scoop of ice cream!
Upcoming appointments: not sure because they might be transferring me to MFM....
How are you feeling? I'm doing okay. Still having morning sickness, but now its just like every other day instead of every day haha. i have hemorrhoids and a yeast infection, so its super uncomfortable down there. still having anxiety about everything, but we got our NIPT results back and that was helpful in relieving some of the anxiety.
Raves/Rants: okay, i really really apologize for the long rant, but i just dont know what to do....heres the reasons why my OBs office is so frustrating: 1. so i had my first appt with them last week and saw the midwife. when the MA was taking my vitals i told her i was really nervous and she was like "why?" and just blank stared at me. i was like "um because this is my first time and ive had IF issues and this is all new and scary...?" and she was like "oh. itll be okay." ya, super helpful. so the midwife comes in and i had a lot of questions (you know, typical FTM and post IF worries) and the midwife just gave me a booklet and said that should answer my questions. 2. after we left the appt, i realized they didnt schedule me for another US, which i thought they would. i messaged them and asked about it and they told me to talk to my insurance because insurance doesnt cover more than one US in the first trimester. i called my insurance, they said they would cover as many as needed, so i called the clinic back. they told me that they wouldnt do any more because it wasnt medically indicated and they didnt want me to "abuse my insurance and their US services" (literally, they told me that) 3. i got a call monday from the nurse at the clinic. she said that the OB was looking over my chart and history and considers me high risk because of my hypertension, so they are referring me to MFM. like, that wasnt even mentioned as a possibility at my first appt. at my first appt they literally explained what would happen in the next months, and scheduled my appts out through April. i mean, im sure MFM will provide better care and thats awesome, it just wasnt handled correctly by the OBs office. 4. so i called MFM yesterday to figure out when i could be seen (because you know, at this point my anxiety is sky high), and they were like "well first, we told the OB clinic this, but we dont see prenatal patients at this office. you have to go to [MFM at other clinic] for that. and second, the transfer request was denied because the MFM office doesnt think you are high risk enough to qualify for MFM care." WTFFFFFF 5. this yeast infection is killing me, so i call the OB office this morning and tell them ive had it for about a week to see if they can see me or prescribe me something. the nurse was like "why didnt you tell them at your visit last week" and i was like "cause it started the day after my appt" and she was like "oh so its only been 6 days not a week" (eyerolllllllll) and she sounds all bothered and is like "ill talk to the midwife and see what she wants to do" and that was it. Honestly, at this point, i just want to know that i have someone i can trust with my and baby's care, and im not feeling it from anyone. i am SO frustrated and upset.
Questions: cant think of any right now, other than what the heck should i do about all this OB drama?? haha
GTKY: What are your ideal weekend plans? sleeeeeeeeep hahahaha. going to the movies with DH. church on sunday. just something chill that involves no work and hanging out with DH.

@b_1029 im sorry YH wasnt being helpful!! hopefully he will come around. maybe if you just talk to him about it and point things out, maybe he will learn? if not, then hes in for a rude awakening when baby comes! also, your gender reveal sounds so fun!! we found out yesterday, but neither my parents or DH's parents/siblings live nearby, so we just did a group chat with his family and had them all guess (almost everyone said boy, but we are having a girl! haha) and then told them, and then for my parents, we are sending them an edible arrangement with a balloon that says "its a girl!" so im excited for them to get that! cant wait to hear how yours goes!!!
@mehugg oh yay for an US on friday!!! we went and had a private one yesterday and little girl was being shy and not wanting to get a good photo haha, but it is so reassuring to have the US and see LO! good luck with things with YH being out of town, i know that is hard! and hurray for nursey planning! cant wait to see what you do with the space
@beckylookatherbump naps FTW!! im so sorry youre still feeling crummy. i hope you start feeling better!
@shaqn0sis thats exciting that you got a crib!!! do you have any fun nursery plans?

@b_1029 I feel huge too, but am sure my like "measurements" haven't changed all that much. Saw your post in HDBD though, looking good!! Maybe I'll be brave enough to join next week
@beckylookatherbump girl I am so sorry you've been feeling so terrible. Hoping you feel better soon.
@shaqn0sis I'm also big on GYSD on Sunday.....but I think in an ideal weekend there'd be no sh to get done lol congrats on the good ultrasound!
@knockupthestock omg I've been following your saga in other threads and totally didn't realize that they were all connected to you, holy moly. I understand not feeling super comfortable with them anymore! Is changing practices an option? Glad you had another US though and congrats on the girl yay!! Yes I'm very excited about our appointment on Friday... It's been the carrot on the end of the sh*t stick that has been this week haha
@knockupthestock NT scan went well! Baby was moving all around so they couldn’t get the specific measurement behind the neck they needed, so just doing an extra blood test.
Also, I’m so frustrated for you! They shouldn’t diminish any of your questions, they’re all valid to you and they should gladly answer them. Plus, shouldn’t they have verified that MFM would take you on before telling you?! I would be furious
@mehugg and @NinnyJean thanks for the support, haha. im glad im not just going crazy over here and you agree its kinda nuts!!!

@knockupthestock Lurker from group 1 .. I'd be so hot. It's hard enough to come off of IF w/o that crap. I hope you find an option that feels better if that's possible.
@knockupthestock Honestly I'm very indecisive when it comes to design and decorating so I figured we'd get a head start on things to ensure that it actually gets done lol. I don't have a particular plan, but hoping to paint at some point and just move the furniture that is currently in there, out of there. Also, reading your rant made my blood boil! I'm angry for you.. I'm sorry that you're going through this. If I were you, I'd look into other OB options if you have the chance.
@mehugg thank you! Haha yes, IDEAL weekend would be just that.
@knockupthestock lurking from Group 2... your OB office sounds like a nightmare and I would totally switch if it's an option! No one deserves to be treated like that, especially not about completely valid questions related to your care! I'm so sorry you're going through this!
@bluguitarhannah@meanjellybean@shaqn0sis thanks for the support ladies!! i've reached out to my RE's office to ask what OBs they recommend, so we will see about switching.
