@sarah0985 Glad your H will be home today! ❤️❤️❤️

@RedBaramid Congratulations on the weight loss!  I did that back in 2013/2014... And then our struggle with infertility brought me right back where I was again, 😔 and then some. 😣 But now there's a baby?  Lol #worthit.  I am on a mission to gain less this pregnancy than last, so there's less ground to make up after the baby is born. 😉
  • Thank you ladies for your condolences ❤️

@starlight_7. Hahhahaha that video is too funny!!  I love yogurt with berries and eat it almost every morning.  Good luck with your appt tomm!  And I really "thought" I was pregnant but trying not to get too excited (since we were on cycle 4 of trying and had experienced strange symptoms prior TWWs).  My breasts were super sore for days. One night I had a glass of prosecco and just felt like I better not have another.  Tested the next day at 3w1d and got a vfl!

  • @annabanana051416 @emiliadkay I have a few friends and coworkers with nannies that have added a child. One is currently 20 weeks pregnant and she discussed it with her nanny at the end of the first trimester and they are going to increase her hourly rate by $2/hr (from $18 to $20). We live in Southern California, not sure the norm other places. I think part of her struggle was what to do while she is on maternity leave. She is going to have to pay her nanny during that time even though she is home, I’m not sure if she is going to reduce her hours or what.

  • @tara4910 thanks, that is helpful information. I really had no idea what the protocol was. I think we will have our nanny still come while I am on leave to help out with my son, since I am overwhelmed by the idea of having 2 kids by myself all day (and she obviously can’t go 12 weeks without work) but may adjust her hours during that time depending on mutual preferences.
  • @tara4910 Yes I will have two drop offs too! I'm already stressed about how that's going to work. My 3 year old is in a preschool only school and I don't want to switch her because she's thriving (and we had a bad experience at a daycare before). Thinking about getting up at 5:30, getting two kids ready including lunches/bottles and doing two drop offs by 7 am is overwhelming! If you can afford it I would do the same place for your kids. Especially since the home daycare is closed more

Thank you everyone for weighing in on the VBAC and maternity leave question!

@emiliadkay With my first, I wanted a vaginal delivery. This time around, I'm just not sure. I kind of have the thought, "It came out that way once. Might as well do it again." But I think you (and your mom) have good perspective about minimizing surgeries.

Since DD was breach they tried to do a version and it was unsuccessful. Had it worked they would have induced me and I would have delivered that way. Because it didn't work and I was already hooked up to the epidural, they just wheeled me in for a CS. So it wasn't a traumatic, emergency CS... it just wasn't what I had hoped for.

@starlight_7  "starch masks"  :D I am so glad I watched that video before responding because I was going to give a legit answer haha

    Edit: Tagging is weird
  • @BusinessWife I have all the faith in the world that you will get your VBAC. Just make sure that the place you've chosen to deliver is on-board and completely supportive of your plan. The nurses at the hospital I delivered DD were pretty frank and said it was better that I rolled into the delivery room crowning. They said they would have let me "try" for a VBAC, but would've been watching pretty closely for stress. I had multiple members of the staff tell me that they probably would've called for a repeat c-section, and the majority of them were shocked that I'd actually done it. Nurses kept coming into the room and excitedly announcing, "YOU'RE THE VBAC!" They clearly didn't see them too often. Granted, this was not the hospital I initially chose, and it was obvious they weren't super VBAC friendly, which is why I'm going back to my original choice (the one that's 45 minutes away) and steering clear of that place. :#

@emiliadkay RIGHT!? It has a very distinct smell, doesn't it? I made a deer roast for the in-laws when they were in town, and we had so much leftover. Heating the leftovers up for days on end was torture. Triggered my gag reflex every time.
  • @emiliadkay they are staffed by regular professionals! I actually just checked and apparently the university I attend doesn't have a college of education, so I guess there aren't any ECE majors here anyway? Kind of surprised about that, but I'm not really in the loop with undergrad stuff here anyway

@duck_duck_goose I feel like there would be so many … interesting... smells in a vet clinic lol

  • @fitandnerdy interesting is one way to put it. If there isn’t one smell a day that doesn’t have me dry heaving It’s probably because I wasn’t at work. 😅

@starlight_7 OMG I'm realizing now that you weren't meaning it as a legit question... even though I watched the video.... jeez pregnancy brain and sleep deprivation means I should stay away from posting   :D:D:D

@faith_2911 My house is a house too and I just have zero energy to do anything about it.  I really need to at least put my laundry away that's been sitting on my side of the bedroom all week... Glad you are hungry!  Make the most of it while it lasts!!

@duck_duck_goose Oh that's a tough gig when you have the nose of a bloodhound!  At least you get to pet all the fluffy animals   <3  And thanks... my pup was acting off yesterday afternoon so we took him to the vet last night.  They said he looks perfect but gave him some meds for his stomach and we are still feeding him boiled chicken with rice.  He was better last night and seems fine today, thank god.  Good luck with your son... you may just need to take him swimming somewhere  :D

  • @annabanana051416 I'm 99% sure we're going to keep sending DS to daycare while I'm on maternity leave for the same reason, I can't imagine juggling two in those early days.

@BusinessWife 42 hours? You're a rockstar. I'm sorry you didn't get the birth you were hoping for -- you've mentioned being unhappy with your last practice before, but I didn't realize it extended the whole way up to delivery. So much of this process is outside of our control, but I'm glad you're standing up for the things that should be.

@duck_duck_goose OMG with the hallway flooding!  :# DS turns over the dog's water bowl at least once a week, but at least it's still accidental (for now). He's also obsessed with the sprayer we have on the toilet for cloth diaper poop, and the day he figures out how it works we are toast.

@faith_2911 I had some of the same goals for this month re: "move more," and I'm similarly struggling with shitty sleep/tiredness and just feeling off. I suspect that if I would exercise a bit, I'd feel better and sleep better and it would all reinforce itself positively, but it's so hard to take that first step. Maybe this evening.
