Re: Group 2 Check-In (May 9-16) w/o 1/6

  • EDD/weeks+days: 21+4

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Lavender

Baby is the size of a(n): Endive

Upcoming appointments: OB appt on Friday.

How are you feeling? Well, I have a cold again, but that's not unusual. Now that I feel movement, I feel anlot better emotionally. My back hurts and its getting harder to eat much/sleep, but otherwise I feel good.

Raves/Rants: It just hit me that at best, I only have 16 weeks left. Yikes, I'm not ready!

    Questions: Nope.

GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? Oh, this is so hard. I'd probably like living in the early 1800's because I love the idea of seeing the country so uninhibited. But I wouldn't want small pox/dysentery/to be treated like property. Or to wash clothes in a river or whatever. I also think the 50's would be fun.
  • EDD/weeks+days: May 14, 21+4

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green:  Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): Endive

    Upcoming appointments: Jan 24

How are you feeling? Pretty great. I'm confident as of last Friday that I am finally feeling movement!

Raves/Rants: DH works retail and typically works weekends. He actually had off yesterday and we went ice skating with DD. It was only 30 minutes, but she had so much fun! He has off this Saturday and off another weekend day later this month! It makes me happy.

    Questions:

GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? Like eternally that decade? I really liked 2000s, and 2010s. Although after watching Outlander, maybe in Scotland during the 1700's (i don't remember the specific decade)!  ;)

Baby is the size of a(n): Fanny pack

Upcoming appointments: OB appointment on January 21

How are you feeling? Mostly good, but I started feeling really pregnant over the holidays, so kind of feeling huge and vaguely annoyed with my body

Raves/Rants: I'm back at work today, ugh.

    Questions: None

GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? The previous roaring 20's would be fun.
  • @ruby696 Sorry for your never ending cold!
@m6agua yay for movement! I'm glad YH has a little more weekend time with you both this month.
@soprano19 Hope your first day back at work goes smoothly!

    EDD/weeks+days: 5/14, 21+4

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Blue!

Baby is the size of a(n): Chipotle Burrito

    Upcoming appointments: 1/20

How are you feeling? I'm having some cramping today which is always a little mind game but other than that I'm finally mostly over my cold and feeling good!

Raves/Rants: My poor DS is getting over croup, he was pretty miserable this weekend but has turned a corner today thankfully! MH has been working out of town and will be for the next couple weeks too, I'm ready for him to be back.

Questions: Has anyone ever had Pedialyte cause bad gas pains in their kiddos?

GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? I feel like I would have done well in "simpler times" before so much technology... but also it's easy to say that obviously life was hard way back when.
  • @rachelg777 I totally agree about simpler times before technology. Then I think about all the medical advancements we would be missing out on. As much as I complain about our current time period, life is pretty easy for many of us.
  • @ruby696 Yes exactly. Like dying from a UTI because abx don't exist.  :D
  • EDD/weeks+days: 21+3

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): Least weasel

Upcoming appointments: Wednesday check-in with midwife

How are you feeling? Huge. I am finally at the limit of my winter coat (it was so tight as to be a little painful on my break today), and I am going to really miss it in this NE winter. I did just order a maternity one off of ThredUp, but I don't expect it to be as good as my normal one.

Raves/Rants: It was so much easier being pregnant in the summer last time so I could just throw on a skirt and be work-appropriate. Maternity tights are expensive and I only have one pair of maternity pants that are work-appropriate. Along with the coat mentioned above I ordered 13 pairs of pants (dress, jeans, leggings, and cords) to try from ThredUp to try to make the rest of this season more bearable - not expecting to keep them all, but I just didn't know what was going to work.

    Questions: None.

GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? Roaring '20s because I have a boyish figure (when not pregnant) and would have rocked those clothes!
  • EDD/weeks+days: May 13th/21+5

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: pink

Baby is the size of a(n): chipotle burrito

Upcoming appointments: follow up anatomy scan 1/20 to try for the heart pictures we didn't get the first time

How are you feeling? pretty awesome

Raves/Rants: loving all the movement lately! I think I startled her this morning when I blew my nose obnoxiously loud which was the first time the movement seemed correlated with something actually happening so that's fun.

    Questions: nah

GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? I'm with @rachelg777 about simpler times and thinking maybe somewhere in the 60's 70's or 80's.  But I agree with all the points about new technology and medical advances etc.  I'm really pretty happy with where I am right now :)
  • You guys are making me want a chipotle burrito.

  • @ruby696- Hope you feel better soon! I also caught a cold from traveling over Thanksgiving-- not very fun. I concur with the sleep issues as well. It gets better, right? :)

@rachelg777- what are you using for your baby measurements? I love the Chipotle burrito reference (albeit I am a Qdoba girl myself). I am tired of the fruit apps!

  • @doctorcrime Yes, it will definitely get better in a couple years. 😆
  • EDD/weeks+days: 5/9/20; 22 weeks & 2 days (changed from 5/11 after the anatomy scan)

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: pink

Baby is the size of a(n): zucchini

    Upcoming appointments: 1/30/2020

How are you feeling?: huge! Had an appointment a week or so ago and was shocked at what the scale said. I have had to clean my closet out of everything that wont fit so I don't have to look at it for now. I feel better than the first trimester symptom-wise except having difficulty sleeping. I have a pregnancy pillow but still not sure how helpful it is. I consider it a successful night if I get some sleep and am able to tolerate sleeping on one of my sides (cant just don't left side like they want:p).

Raves/Rants: Don't want to have to go back to teaching soon! Enjoyed time off too much.

Questions: This is my first pregnancy (that has gotten this far) so I am not sure what movement feels like. There are times I think I feel something but am not sure if it is gas or something else. The doctor said based on the positioning of the placenta (in the front) that I might not feel it as much. I sometimes feel something that almost feels like she rolled all the way over which seems a bit too intense to be movement then?

GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why?: I'll assume all of my friends/family could be there-- and I'd say something in the future. 2100? It would be cool to see what new tech/gadgets we have and what's going on in the world. The 60s or something further back sounds fun in theory but I really appreciate modern medicine. :)
  • I had a burrito for lunch but it wasn't Chipotle and now I'm sad  :'(

    EDD/weeks+days: May 15/21+3

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): kool-aid burst

Upcoming appointments: tomorrow morning with the OB

How are you feeling? Very emotional lately. I almost cried a few times over the weekend out of nowhere? And have been getting very annoyed with MH for no reason. Thanks hormones.

Raves/Rants: this week is going to be very hectic at work. It's my work bestie's last day (she is moving) and I'm so sad because I'm losing a local friend and now we're even more short staffed than we were before.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? Hmm....I'm fascinated by historical England (maybe Victorian or further back) but also love my health and my rights 😂 but I think that's a problem no matter where you go but now, as you guys said above.

  • @doctorcrime I almost did that for my closet this weekend after pulling a shirt out to wear that I thought for sure would fit (it didn't). I was going to go through everything yesterday and then got overwhelmed and didn't do it.

@lajoliedreamer I feel you on the jacket problems. I am in the PNW and my rain jacket doesn't fit anymore. Trying to make my comfy coat and an umbrella last through the winter but it's gonna be tough.

  • @lajoliedreamer I was out for a walk the other day and one of the buttons on my jacket burst off haha. Luckily I had a jacket on order, but unfortunately I don't think it's going to be warm enough for the winter weather that's forcasted.

    EDD/weeks+days: May 16/ 21w 2d

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: possibly pink, not guaranteed.

Baby is the size of a(n): Endive

    Upcoming appointments: Jan 21, midwife

How are you feeling? Still pretty sick from a cold. Mentally, letting my anxiety get the best of me. I got sick and got an elevated temp which spiralled into worrying about everything. Did I get to hot and hurt baby? Why isn't baby moving as much today? I fell asleep on my back and my big toe went numb, did I just cut off blood supply to baby? Is my bath to hot?

Raves/Rants: My dog has been insanely cuddling with my lately and I'm loving it.

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? 80s or 90s. Michael Jackson, simpler times then now but still far enough along, less popular Backcountry and front country hiking.

  • EDD/weeks+days: 21+4 may 14

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: blue

Baby is the size of a(n): Endive

    Upcoming appointments: Jan 24

How are you feeling? My feet got really swollen for the first time over the weekend but other than that, okay. Much less stressed now that most of the holiday crap is taken care of and also cooked dinner tonight so that was nice

    Raves/Rants: none

    Questions:

GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? I was thinking the 80’s when things were a little bit simpler ... less technology etc
  • EDD/weeks+days: 22 + 0 / May 12th

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: pink

Baby is the size of a(n): red pepper

Upcoming appointments: Jan 13th with OB

How are you feeling? Tired (but maybe that’s just life). Lots of indigestion.

Raves/Rants: We had friends over on Saturday and it was lots of fun. Good reminder to try to get people together more often. Joining all those having cost issues. I got a maternity coat second hand, but the sleeves are too short. Back to wearing my coat where I can’t button any of the lower buttons. Maybe I need to look into Thred Up!

    Questions:

GTKY: (stolen from Group 3) If you could live in any decade, what would it be and why? As a kid, I wanted to live in the Little House on the Prairie days. But I re-read those books recently and they are pretty bleak. I’d say the future - would be cool to life in space or something.
  • @doctorcrime I got the chipotle burrito size from the website babysizer.com.  I also use the 80's and 90's nostalgia on the "What to Expect" app for something a little more fun.
  • @adventuresawait2 - I definitely recommend looking into ThredUp for a jacket. The inventory turns over often so if you don’t see one today, check back in a few days and there could be something. Also, it automatically filters by your “home warehouse” which is whatever is closest to you, so if you remove that filter you can find more options as well.
  • @ruby696 yikes! That's a scary thing to think about. I'm 22+1 and my boys were both born at 37 weeks. If I keep my track record that gives me just 15 weeks left. Omg.
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

    BabyFruit Ticker
  • @Austenista Right?! Like how did that even happen?
  • @m6agua - I hadn’t realized that you had an anterior placenta again. I’m glad you’re finally getting that movement!
