Had an appt yesterday with a nurse, I am now doing home health care or w.e. its called due to the BP issues and the poss of preeclampsia coming back. Today I have an OB appt. I am so happy because this back pain has been killer. Nurse told me to have the doc check my kidneys because of where I am getting back pain and if it is not my kidneys I may need some PT. Anatomy scan/MFM appt is 1/10 So excited Cardio is on 1/24 to check my ticker & bp meds
I had a routine check with my midwife this morning. She suspects I have an anterior placenta, which would explain why I haven't felt much movement (felt kicks with my first by 16 weeks, nothing really yet at 17 weeks with this pregnancy). I had blood work done today for spina bifida screening. Next up in the anatomy scan on 1/20, then another midwife appt on 1/31!
ultrasound and OB appt coming up Monday the 6th! I am 17 weeks and haven't felt any movement? My last ultrasound last month showed my placenta was in the front. Maybe the reason for not feeling movement?? Is everyone feeling movement by now?
@ambosb My midwife said an anterior placenta (in the front) is like a cushion between the baby and the belly, so it makes it more difficult to feel kicks or hear the heartbeat since baby isn't as close to your stomach.
My OB appt was good today. Doc had some trouble getting the HB which felt like an eternity in my PGAL brain. But turns out baby girl is just so active she kept moving and kicking. I haven’t felt her yet 15+5 today. I didn’t feel my son until later like 22ish but was hoping second baby I’d feel much sooner. But doc said it’s still early. I’m just relieved after almost 4 weeks of no reassurances that she is doing okay. Scheduled my next appt and the anatomy scan for the end of this month. also need to go for some more bloodwork and an early glucose test next week.
I had an anterior placenta with ds and he was insanely active. Curious to see if I do again. Haven't felt much the last couple of days but I have felt movement since about 13 weeks in general. Looking forward to the anatomy scan and getting further along for constant movement.
I had my ultrasound on the 2nd and OB on the 3rd. US took forever! My little one was not cooperating at all. He just played face down the entire 2 hours...so I need to go back in 4 weeks so they can get measurements of his nose, upper lip, and other chambers of his heart. Everything looked good though. It was CRAZY seeing his spine and eyeball lens, just everything.
The OB was useless. Just checked the heartbeat, asked if I had any questions and sent me on my way.
I have not felt anything externally yet and my bump is still so tiny, but I feel him moving around inside all of the time. I cant wait to have DH feel him and have some of my students feel him.
I have a midwife appt on the 8th and anatomy scan on the 29th. Hopefully I can get back soon after to get the gender news. Where I am the sonographers aren’t allowed to tell you at the scan so I’ll have to wait a little longer.
My scan is 20th, with doc check up, then home visit with midwife on 22nd.

Not sure where I was supposed to post, so I will again. Anatomy scan went well! Baby is confirmed a boy and measuring a few days ahead. I still cant believe it. He was in a weird position, so I have to go back in a few weeks to get the few shots they messed, but they said he looks great!
Yesterday's appointment went great! I asked the nurse to do BP last because I'm a nervous BP taker and it went way down. Got to hear baby's heartbeat and got anatomy scan and 2nd tri screening paperwork.
Had my monthly check up this am. All was good. Heard the heartbeat on the Doppler and was 144. I had another dr as mine was on vacation and she was really nice. Next week is my 20 week scan!
Had my 18w check today. Everything was fine, baby is still super low. Anatomy scan in a couple weeks.
I found out today my OB is going to be on vacation the week after my due date. I’m due on a Tuesday, and her nurse scheduled me a RCS for that Friday, then she’s gone the entire following week. After talking to the doctor, I feel a little better. She wants to keep it on the schedule but will cancel it up until that week depending on how I feel because she knows I want to try for a vbac. She was open to waiting to schedule the RCS until after she gets back. If I go into labor on my own though while she’s gone, I get whoever is on call which makes me nervous because there’s a chance of me getting the OB who delivered DS who I don’t love. There are two other OBs in the practice, one would be great and the other one I don’t like at all. Long way off and plenty of time for things to change but giving me anxiety nonetheless.
Anatomy scan on Monday! So excited. Had an ultrasound at 16 weeks when I was admitted to the hospital for my gallbladder but baby looked scary 💀 lol. Hoping for a cuter picture to share with family & friends! And of course for a good report 🙏
Anatomy scan went great! Little girl is measuring right on track and in the upper 80s % for weight. (already cant remember if it was 86 or 88). She's measuring one day ahead so pretty spot on! Glad everything is looking good. I cannot believe how much she is moving. Ds I felt everything even with an anterior placenta. I can barely feel her and don't have an ap this time. Must just be gentle like @pourmeanothermocktail suggested.
Dr said my weird dislike for basically all food is likely going to last the entire pregnancy since it's still here at 20 weeks. Trying to silver lining think about it... Maybe I won't gain as much this time?
@runwmusic that’s so interesting you felt DS more with an anterior placenta??? I’m 20 weeks tomorrow and feel very little movement unless I’m holding my uterus and sitting still/concentrating. I can’t remember exactly when I felt my other two but I feel like I felt it more by now. But every Doppler and on the ultrasound baby was moving like crazy. Curious to see if I have an anterior placenta this time.
@lynkat I'm also so much bigger faster this time around. I wonder if I feel less because I'm more stretched out? So she isn't as squeezed in there? I really have no clue and think it's super weird too. She must just not be as forceful as her brother was. The only times I feel her a lot is if I bend forward (like putting on shoes) she does not like that and definitely shoves me back!! Or after dinner laying on the couch she wiggles a lot.
@runwmusic I’ve also wondered if uterus size is a factor so maybe that’s part of it too! DS1 was a big baby and DS2 was doing flips in there for SO long before he got into position and stayed put.
I had my anatomy scan today and everything looked good. Baby was rolling around and wiggling her arms and legs a lot. Found out that I have an anterior placenta this time which I guess may be why I still am not feeling any movement.
I’m feeling a bit down after the appointment because the MFM docs that do the anatomy scan reviewed my case and do not agree with my OB’s recommendation to do my RCS before 39 weeks. I don’t really want to get into it right now, but this leaves me with a lot of uncertainty and fear around what will happen.
We had our anatomy scan yesterday. He is looking great! We are 19w5d and they said he’s measuring ahead (by quite a bit- some of his measurements were nearly 2wks ahead).
They also said he should be weighing in around 10oz right now and he’s a whopping 14. Our first was 8#15oz 21.5in. So a bigger baby, but not abnormally big. My husband and I are tall but small framed, so taller kiddos was to be expected. They’re thinking this guy is going to a biggin’ though. No signs or concerns of gestational diabetes at this point and I didn’t have it with our first. Since he’s a big guy, we will get to see his face again in about 10 weeks .
He’s SO low as well. My OB found his heart rate nearly mid-hip. I explained the pelvic floor pain I have had since 15wk with him. She recommended a maternity belt and physical therapy. Anyone else have recommendations or have used the maternity belt for pelvic floor pain? Did it help? I feel like he’s going to break my hips every time I stand or move!
Had my anatomy scan yesterday. Doc called me today saying I need to go back for a second ultrasound because they weren’t able to get good pictures (baby was moving too much, my first did the same). He said they also observed an echogenic bowel. Any STM experienced this? He said it is fairly common and is most often nothing but can be related to cystic fibrosis and chromosomal abnormalities. He did say the cases he has seen related to cystic fibrosis presented much darker than what they are seeing. He told me not to worry too much, bloodwork and another ultrasound at MFM next week, but wondering if anyone has dealt with this before? Thanks!
Just had my OB appointment and heard little guy's heartbeat. We recorded it to play back from DS1, since he's currently very excited by the idea of baby brother. I've got a diabetes check-in tomorrow and then the anatomy scan next week. I'm excited and anxious to have that big milestone done. My OB is really impressed with my GD control post-meals, and we'll keep chasing my fastings with insulin increases until delivery.
@kyrwyn I’m so glad your GD is going well! I know how hard it is and it’s been so impressive to hear all the things you’re doing to stay healthy! I hope it stays as smooth as the last week or two!

I had my phone follow up for my anatomy scan today. Baby looks great but I have something called a succenturiate (accessory) lobe on my placenta. Has anyone had that? They told me that its nothing to worry about, just more so making sure that all the pieces come out after I give birth. I guess that it's not sure common to find it on an ultrasound prior to birth, so she said it was good we know. I have more questions but will ask them at my next appointment.

17 week appointment Monday. Babys heartbeat sounded great. Had my blood test to screen for spina bifida, already got test results which were normal. Next step anatomy scan on February 4, even tho shes already confirmed a girl. So happy this pregnancy is going smoothly. Early nesting going on here lol
I had my official GD check-in today and got a gold star for compliance, plus I don't have to go back for another month! At some point I'll have to check in every two weeks, but she's happy to let me go longer than most GD moms if I keep up numbers like this. This saves me time, stress, and $$.
Andddd it’s another girl! Feel a bit sad I’ll never have a boy but I’m also happy if that makes sense ha. Baby girl was looking healthy and everything was developing as expected! Also they’ve started giving 36 week scans so I’ll get to see her again yay
@hayhay2501 I had mine today too! We knew is was a girl already though so DD #2 for us. We’re so excited and baby looked good. Crazy seeing all those femurs and Tibias and such developing right along!

@mommaweasel So happy to hear of your good scans so far! I've been nesting as well recently. I've been trying to reorganize a lot of things and tossing out/donating anything that we don't need that is cluttering the space!
