Re: Group 1 (July 1-7) Check In - w/o 12/30

  • EDD/weeks+days: 7 July (12+6)

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: team green! Although everyone really wants to know

Baby is the size of a(n): plum

Upcoming appointments: January 2nd for med check and 9th for regular OB appt

How are you feeling? Slowly better

Raves/Rants: I could rant for hours about my husbands family, I’m so glad the holidays are over

Questions: Resolutions for 2020?? I rarely finish mine...oops

GTKY- do you have siblings? How many if so? Yes, there’s 4 of us—i’m the oldest, then 15 months apart is my brother, and then 10 years for a sister and 13 years apart for my last brother. It was fun having siblings close and far apart, and we are all friends now that we’re older. 2 of us are married so we have even more people, and my sister is engaged

  • @footdrbritt I haven't thought of any! I'm not sure I will this year :#

    EDD/weeks+days: 7/5 ; 13w1d

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Blue

Baby is the size of a(n): clownfish

    Upcoming appointments: 1/21

How are you feeling? getting better! I decided to try to have a protein shake yesterday since I've been feeling better (they have made my nausea really bad, thus far). BIG MISTAKE! I felt like garbage the 2nd half of the day yesterday. Oh well, though! Now I know :)

Raves/Rants: my parents took DD on Saturday so we could go out to celebrate a friend's bday. They let her stay up until 9:30... 2 hrs past her bedtime. She was a disaster last night (which was fun to deal with while also really nauseous) and this morning. I'm so annoyed. They never do stuff like that.

Questions: TTM+ see my question in randoms please :)

GTKY- do you have siblings? How many if so? No siblings here! I'm an only child but always asked Santa for a brother. That jerk didn't ever deliver :D
  • EDD/weeks+days: 13w3d 7/3

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: PINK!

Baby is the size of a(n): Jalapeño

    Upcoming appointments: NT US today.

How are you feeling? So nauseated STILLLLL. Taking more meds but that means sleeping a lot too.

Raves/Rants: DH has been great, but he was a teeny bit disappointed finding out we’re having a girl. Had his heart set, but he’s excited still!

Questions: do your antiemetics cause drowsiness? Nervous to go back to work on these meds that make me sleep 2-3 hours a pill! I drive to my patients’ homes.

GTKY- do you have siblings? How many if so?
    I have 3 siblings, 2 older sisters married with 2 & 3 children all under 6. A younger brother.
  • @samwalker714 I asked for Zofran, which doesn’t make me drowsy. Nausea is the worst, hopefully starts to get better for you!
  • @samwalker714 Benadryl totally knocks me out. I can't take it, at all. Unisom (diphenhydramine) makes me groggy but I could stay awake if I absolutely had to. Lots of friends who have taken Diclegis described it as making them feel like they're in a haze. So, it sounds like you'll likely be tired and just kind of have to deal with it.
  • @footdrbritt I’m not sure why by my OB has implied that Zofran isn’t ideal? I’ve heard of plenty of other women using it.
  • @samwalker714 there was one study a few years back that said it ‘may’ cause birth defects. As a doc myself I think the benefits wayyyy outweigh the very small risks that *could* be associated, because I can’t be puking in the OR, and falling asleep in my office isn’t ideal either.  None of the OB or midwives in my hospital had an issue with it (and that’s about 15 providers I talked to), and it has helped immensely.

    EDD/weeks+days: 13w2d EDD 7/4

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: baby boy and doc confirmed on ultrasound today. He said baby is swinging something lol 😆

Baby is the size of a(n): Peach

    Upcoming appointments: 1/21

How are you feeling? Got a terrible cold last week and still dealing with it so I am feeling horrible. No nausea but limited appetite.

    Raves/Rants:
Raves- So glad I’m off until Thursday. Baby looked like a real baby today on scan. Everything looked great so I’m happy.

Questions: Anyone do any outside scans? Our office doesn’t let us videotape so no keepsakes aside from pics they print. I heard the heartbeat today for the first time and FTM, but can’t even relive the moment by watching it over and over on my phone. I understand why they have that rule though but it’s sucky nonetheless.

GTKY- do you have siblings? How many if so? Yes I have two younger sisters 35 and 30.
  • @samwalker714 I’ve been sleeping a lot (like 10 hours a night), thanks to the Unisom. If I don’t get that much sleep it does make me tired, but for me it’s worth it since it’s the difference between throwing up and just feeling nauseous.

    EDD/weeks+days: 13w1d

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: pink

Baby is the size of a(n): lemon

    Upcoming appointments: 1/28

How are you feeling? Getting over my cold so that’s good, and I think the nausea might have been a little better this morning!

Raves/Rants: Was all excited about starting the 2nd trimester, (at 13 weeks as of yesterday), though I guess there’s some disagreement about when it officially starts. From the math (40/3) I guess it’s like 13.3 weeks?

Questions: One dumb meta question about The Bump- when you get tagged, is there a way to get an alert? Maybe I need to change my settings for emails so I actually get a notification.

GTKY- do you have siblings? How many if so? One older brother. They’re pregnant with their second now so excited about cousins close in age.
  • @Elle131 I did with my first and it was worth the money (in my opinion). We got a CD with the video and the pictures plus a recording of the heartbeat
  • @footdrbritt at how many weeks did you do it?
  • @randomname_generator unless things have changed since 2016, no. There’s no way to get notifications.

@Elle131 I’d ask in randoms or The Great Question thread. I know there are folks who have that aren’t in our weekly group. You may get more answers there 😀
  • I thought with being off work for the holidays, I’d have more time to bump around...ah well, I’m lurking guys!

    EDD/weeks+days: July 7/12w+6d

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green!

Baby is the size of a(n): almost a lemon 🍋

Upcoming appointments: today! We had our ultrasound to go with our NT results ( in Canada we just refer to it as First Trimester Screening). Everything came back negative, and baby was jumping around like crazy 🤪

How are you feeling? Really good and it was such a relief to know baby is right on track. I’m starting to feel like myself more and more each day, I even craved a kale salad for dinner.

Raves/Rants: I guess this is my rant and my rave, DH was out of town for a few days and it was tough! DS and I watched way too much tv and ate too much junk food. But we survived, and I had no shame in sending him to daycare today (or tomorrow) while I’m still off work until the 2nd. Luckily DH made it home in time for my ultrasound today, and took care of bedtime while I read a book.

    Questions: none

GTKY- do you have siblings? How many if so? Yes, 3 sisters! I’m the baby and my oldest sister has 10 years on me...we’re the closest out of all
  • @footdrbritt he told me today on the phone there were some Scandinavian studies that indicated heart defects with use of zofran, but said at 13w3d the risk is negated. Thank God bc I am ready for some true relief!
  • EDD/weeks+days: 13 weeks today

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Green

Baby is the size of a(n): Pokémon Trading Card

Upcoming appointments: Jan 16th, can’t wait to hear the heartbeat again

How are you feeling? Each day it’s something new. Today I’m feeling okay with random pains as I move

Raves/Rants: Rave: we have the best support system. We were just gifted a crib and diaper stockpile

    Questions: none

GTKY- do you have siblings? How many if so? I am the second of four. My husband is the 5th of six

  • @samwalker714 yay!

Looked at stroller/car seat options at BuyBabyBuy my head was ready to implode but landed at some options.  My neck is fused at 3 levels and weight/pressure lifting is a consideration.
    Questions - None

  • @bluguitarhannah any advice following your trip to BBB? DH & I are heading there this week for the same reason!

    EDD 7/7, 13w3d today

Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: Finding Out! We're telling people we're not though. Couldn't tell at our last US but I think it's going to be team pink.

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet Georgia peach!

Upcoming appointments: mid-Feb for our next US. Just had our 12 weeker last Friday! Baby looks good!

How are you feeling? Not bad - I can't wait for the super sensitive gag reflex to pack its bags. If it weren't for that I'd be on cloud nine because otherwise I'm feeling pretty good!

Raves/Rants: I hate cold and flu season. I'm getting over a month-long cold that had me coughing like crazy, and my husband just came down with the flu on Monday. His fever broke only yesterday and I'm hoping I don't catch it! Also hating that I have to wear incontinence pads already because the coughing is making me tinkle a bit!

Questions: has anyone had anything concerning happen in their pregnancies so far? I've had a subchorionic hematoma and been diagnosed with a single artery cord; please, no more scares, just smooth sailing! Also, when apps tell you your baby is a certain size, is that actually the size of your babe, or the size of babe AND sac? Maybe I just can't believe the little one has grown to be as big as it is - it seems unreal!

GTKY- I have a 'full' brother, two half sisters, and a step brother and sister. I'm the second youngest, and older than the youngest by about 12 years.
  • @lizzybean84 the baby (only) is the same length as the item they give you, typically.
  • @samwalker714 I picked three large items I really wanted to see in person and checked out those.  I had read on some models before we got there.
  • @blaf322 Thank you! Blows my mind that it started tracking when it was a poppy seed, now it's a peach! Wowee.
  • @samwalker714 I know you didn't ask me, but I was totally overwhelmed the first time I walked in and would recommend the following:
1- check out Lucie's List so you know which of the big stuff you want before going. They also have a registry guide for anything from bath to car seats. =
2- If you have a close friend who has kids, take them to register with you.... and, if you're like me, leave your H at home lol.... My bestie walked around and registered with me. DH was happier b/c he didn't have to go and my bestie was able to tell me what was helpful for them, what they didn't really use, etc.
  • EDD/weeks+days: July 2nd/14w today

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: green

Baby is the size of a(n): Brilliant beet

Upcoming appointments: OB 1/16, next US sometime 18-20 weeks

How are you feeling? I'm feeling pretty good, nausea is completely gone. Fatigue it's hard to tell because I was on vacation for the last week but also sick with a cold. I'm hoping I will start having more energy soon. I've had a little more frequent headaches and heartburn lately. My main problem right now is a lot of pain in my hips when I'm trying to sleep...I'm a side sleeper and it's really messing me up!

Raves/Rants: Officially into the 2nd trimester!

Questions: I'm going to post a question in the question thread about my hip pain because I'm wondering if anybody else has ever dealt with this and what to do so I can get sleep.

GTKY- do you have siblings? How many if so? Yup, I am the second of 5...my older (half) sister is a lot older than me, 6.5 years, and then my parents popped out 4 kids in 5 years from me to my younger sister. With two brothers in between.
  • @eljames83 have you tried sleeping with a pillow between your legs? I’m also a side sleeper, and I snuggle up with a snoogle pillow and it tends to help a bit.
  • EDD/weeks+days: 7/3 - 13 weeks 6 days.

    Team Finding Out/Pink/Blue/Green: finding out

Baby is the size of a(n): lemon

    Upcoming appointments: OB check-up 1-2-2020

How are you feeling? A bit better. Not so nauseated. A nit more energy to workout at least 3 times a week.

Raves/Rants: not this week. Or if so, I forgot them lol.

    Questions: not at the moment.

GTKY- do you have siblings? How many if so? Yes. I am the of 9.
  • @coffeeandcookies84 I used a pillow between my legs last night and it really helped a lot. Thanks so much for the suggestion. I'm going to check out pregnancy pillows too.
