@Tulips29 Sorry you’re so uncomfortable! The last month or so of sleep was pretty painful for me too. It almost wasn’t worth it for me to even sleep towards the end.
@Tulips29 sorry to hear youre so uncomfortable! you got this! best of luck to you in the next few weeks!
@sincethelastday yay for getting all the main things you need for baby! im sure that is a relief. and ya, that is scary about the Rh test and the risk of messing up the sperm. ugh, that would just be awful.
Raves - we are getting things ready to surprise our parents at Christmas with the news that we are pregnant and it is exciting! we are making them a calendar using photos we took while we were in Scotland/England in October. since we are due in July, for the photo for July, we are using our latest sonogram. so hopefully they will flip through the months and when they get to July, see the photo and then realize what is going on, haha. we also got ornaments that say "baby (last name) arriving 2020" that are really cute.
Questions - did any of y'all have aversions to meat? if so, what did you do to ensure you got enough protein? when did you tell your boss/work that you are pregnant?
dx: PCOS, hypothroidism
Second TTGP: started meds for first cycle of tx on 10/13/21
@sincethelastday when we did IVF the first time, my hubby provided his sample right after another man. when they came in to double check his bracelet against the sperm sample they had the wrong sample! the nurse said "this is why we check!". It was clear at our anatomy scan that there was no mix up, our son already looked just like DH. I agree that the comment was in poor taste though, they would give you the shot even if you didn't do IUI, just to cover their bases.
@k_mama91 yay! stick around! it's good for us to hear about recovery/early days....I honestly think it's not talked about enough and the reality of PP is a lot different than you think it will be! Glad you are getting up more, but sorry for the nerve pain. hopefully it resolves quickly, but I know it can last for a while in some cases. Are you feeling like things are a little easier second time around? Or is a new baby a totally new experience?
@knockupthestock I have meat aversions, but I've been on a plant based diet before, so I never worried about getting enough protein because literally everything you eat has protein in it (amino acids). I did increase my bean/lentil intake and I typically have an apple with peanut butter before bed, but it's super rare for anyone in the US to be protein deficient - even vegetarians. (I'm a nurse and part of my job is nutrition counseling). Everyone in my office knew we were doing IVF, so they were all eagerly awaiting the news like we were. I'm a firm believer in telling people as soon as you know, especially work. They have an obligation to make accommodations for anyone that has a medical condition (which pregnancy is!) and there's no reason to suffer with morning sickness in silence and isolation. I also can't stand the stigma that women should suffer through pregnancy loss in isolation, but it's a highly personal decision and some people are more private, so you also have to do what feels right to you.

4+2
How are you feeling this week?
I'm tired. Overwhelmed, shocked, and feeling a bit crazy
Rants/Raves? Questions?
Trying to figure out how to juggle a third high risk pregnancy with 2 little at home.
Any upcoming appointments?
Another appt in 2 weeks to check for a heartbeat.
GTKY: do you have a favorite holiday song?
Hmmmm... I think my favorite is O Holy Night.
@bluguitarhannah almost through the first tri - yay!!! Big deal!
@knockupthestock Happy Belated Birthday!
@PoeMasque I’ve had 2 prenatal massages and neither had an amazing pillow like that to lay flat. How nice! Hope you can schedule another one soon.
@sincethelatday the worry about wrong gametes is very real with me too. I think it’s natural for those things to start resurfacing especially when a nurse brings it up!!!
@kno@knockupthestock sounds like a great announcement! And yes I had periods off meat where the thought made the bile rise in my throat... and periods where all I could eat was bacon and steak!!! I kept snacking on almonds and peanuts, plus upped the broccoli as well as trying to sneak chicken into dishes in a way I could leave it if needed but also could accidentally eat some (like in a stir fry)
@poemasque come on placenta!!! And omg that cushion you laid on sounds amazing! Where can we all get one! My boobs get in the way when laying down as much as my belly (I’ve gone from a C (D for a week of the month) cup to a G cup. They get in the way of everything!
@akak23 enjoy all the holiday music! I stopped worrying about what others think of my musical tastes a long time ago!

@akak23 I start Christmas music on thanksgiving day too lol
@PoeMasque I had two prenatal massages and they were absolutely amazing! I’m getting a post partum massage as soon as I’m cleared.
As for this blur of PP time- things have come back to me regarding newborn care BUT it’s been 9 years so a lot of what I didn’t stress over with ds1 is stressing me now. And Wyatt is the polar opposite of ds1 in terms of sleeping habits which has been a hard adjustment. The fourth trimester is very real!
I am BusinessWife, we have been battling azoospermia. Lucky enough to have had a successful sperm retrieval in 2017, and now we are back for what we hope will be our second successful pregnancy! Our DD (S) was born in 9/18 and arrived eleven days late. 😲 perfectly healthy, big girl, by unclanned C-section. I am hoping for a successful VBAC this time, and also plan to go back and transfer our final two remaining embies. Always wanted a big family, but that dream is sadly fading after this last attempt. We shall see!!! But anywho, hoping for future vbacs down the road as opposed to multiple c-sections if we can help it. 🤷 My providers will not want me to gain much, if any weight, so nutrition and even food logging will be a big focus for me this time around.
But first things first. Lol

Baby Blob due Oct 7!
PAIF 2+ years!
I just realized I haven't posted here this week but in my defense it's been a bit of ride the past couple of days... I mentioned last week that my last scan showed a low heart that kept measuring between 98 and 102. The NP was a little concerned but it was still early (I was 6+5) so they brought me back this week. I had another scan yesterday and the HR looked much better at 130 but the reason that it kept showing different rates last week was because there are two heart beats. Our single embryo transfer split into two and I'm carrying identical twins. I'm freaking out and H is having a really hard time but right now everyone is healthy and we will just have to figure it out.

most people see gestational sac and maybe a fetal pole
some do see a very early Hb but it tends to be quite irregular and slow at that stage still
according to betabase you see the sac beyond 1200 and HB beyond 6000 - but some do still take longer
My Scans did follow those numbers anecdotally

@BusinessWife the whole first trimester is a rollercoaster of “feeling” pregnant then not. Just remember that there’s basically nothing you can do to harm or help the pregnancy at this point, so you just have to roll with it (i know, easier said than done!) Also, it’s unlikely you’ll see HB until after 6 - 6.5 weeks. At this point I think they are just checking for ectopic and fetal pole, but I never had a scan that early.
